I have the ACTUAL film-which is one of the best "war films" ever made. So the parodies are a bit off the wall IMHO. But heck folks want to do them I guess.

Krebs arrived surprised Chuikov. So he hurriedly put lapels and medals on two guys in uniform to make them look like colonels and his General Staffs. The third guy, a composer, was not in uniform, so Chuikov shoved him into a closet. The meeting did not last minutes. In real life, it was hours. Chuikov called Zhukov, Zhukov called Stalin to discuss the terms of surrender. Everyone in Moscow was busy because of the 1st of May celebration. And Stalin was sleeping. Several hours in, the poor dude in the closet collapse from lack of air, and a few Russian soldiers walked in to hauled him out. Everyone then continued like nothing happened. They actually shot the sequence where the composer collapse and fell out of the closet. The director took it out because it was too absurd. It's like slapstick comedy in the middle of a war tragedy.
Anticipating untold sufferings, torture and humiliation at the hands of the Ivan hordes, General Hans Krebs and General Wilhelm Burgdorf committed suicide, after all other inhabitants left the Bunker, on 2nd May, 1945. He was very fluent in Russian language.

Of all the deleted scenes I've ever seen this one deserved to be deleted the most. Vasily Chuikov, (who was a general, not marshal at the time), was the commander of one of the two armies doggedly defending Stalingrad bridgehead during the whole battle, his command post was often a few hundred meters from the enemy and consequently in some critical situations even suffered shell fire from the Soviet guns from the left bank of the Volga that were trying to protect it from German attacks. He was nothing like the comical appearance obsessed general as portrayed here...

I can sum it up. Well obviously Chuikov is going over propaganda, the 3 men at the table are news reporters by the way, and he is told that the Germans are here to negotiate. So he gives medals to the two reporters in uniforms and asks them to pretend to be his staff, then he needs to get the one in civilian clothes out so he puts him in a closet. The two generals exchange greetings, then they begin the talks where Krebs tell them that they want to negotiate the German surrender, Chuikov asks what brought this about, Krebs tells him that Hitler and his wife committed suicide, Chuikov tells him he already knows that they committed suicide (when the "staff" nod their heads), Krebs hands him the proposed terms, Chuikov turns them down saying he can only accept an unconditional surrender, Krebs tells him he is not capable of giving that is not capable of giving that so the meeting ends. That about sums it up. Oh and all of this was real so that guy was actually put in a closet, he later runs out of air, passes out, and falls out of the closet, much to the surprise of General Krebs who is still negotiating with Chuikov.
Damnit I needed the actual subtitles for my research project on General Hans Krebs... How am I supposed to write about chocolates now?
