huge respect to the performer for being able to play this, only criticism is that it is a bit slow, but this piece is damn near impossible at the written tempo
@@Santosificationable He played it at 150 (Alkan said 160). Go see Morishita, the fastest ever (approximatively 155). At 160 this work is almost impossible to play.
@@Santosificationable I agree completely, Barbaro Mr. is a master at interpreting Alkan, despite his obscurity. Great that other people are aware of such an underrated talent!
Maltempo....very aptly named; unable to set and hold a steady rythm, rather a handicap in Alkan of all composers! Jerky, choppy, sloppy..... Michael Ponti, altho not perfect, gives a much more brilliant impression of this piece with implacable tempo and rythm....in fact, a true "Bontempo!"

Well his name is Maltempo.
No it isn't. A person called Barbaro Mr. plays this at full speed. Search it here on RUclips.

I think you played it noticeably better in Yokohama, Japan.
NoIce
Im afraid nobody plays it correctly, there is a hidden melody in right hand every three notes
It’s not explicitly stated, so unfortunately you cannot say for sure that your way is correct.
@@acactus2190Its clear at 0:58 section. Try yourself or check in scores
@@vcsgoru4353 Nope, it's not really clear in that section according to the scores I see, can you say which edition where it is stated?

chances are you cannot play this piece
This performance doesn’t do him justice, he made much better recordings of this piece.
