@@alperencalsan3839 I'm currently listening to "Prague" on Spotify, starts at 7:07 in "Eskimo" just like they said. Not sure if it's only on the American version of Spotify, but that would be weird. "Eskimo" includes "Prague" and "Silent Night"
This is a song to hear at night. It's not for the happy ones, the ones who found love or joy. This is a song for the dark lonely nights. For the drunk poets of 2.00 A.M.
The most underrated and epic song, when I first discovered this track I was blown away and got shivers down my spine. It was everything I was looking for musically.
I see this song happening after "Cheers Darlin." In Cheers Darlin, I imagine he got a letter of invitation to his lovers' wedding. The wedding is in Prague and he goes, at first to support her as his friend, "I'm all dressed up for you. I'm all dressed up for him too" This shows that he is trying to be supportive even though it kills him. But then he realizes his life without her is not worth it. He "prepares [himself] for a war." He is determined to fight for her this time as opposed to to before when he just sulked in his sorrow singing "Cheers Darlin' here's to you and your lover boy." He's not sure what to expect from her, but he is determined to at least reveal his feelings. I get the feeling that he was too late though. Either the timing was never right for him to make a profession of love or he realized himself that the timing would never be right. So he let her go..and it brings us all the way back to Cheers Darlin. So maybe the chronology of the songs is interchangeable.
+Paige Wilson I love to think in this sequence: Accidental Babies> Prague > Cheers Darlin' Accidental Babies is them having an affair (that really was doomed from the start: 'we use cushions to cover happy glands, in the mild issue of our disgrace') while she's engaged and he sorta gives her the ultimatum: 'but do you really feel alive without me? if so, be free. if not, leave him for me'. She chose her finacé. Prague is really him going to her weddening. And the line 'i don't know what i'm doingthis for. how can i when you still don't know?' shows that, maybe, she's still a little bit confused and this's torning him apart. But he got years to wait around for her, he loves her, so he pretends everything is all right. Cheers Darling, for me, is like the wedding reception. The bride and the groom are smiling all around, dancing, kissing, and he is sitting on a table in the back, drinking the bottle of wine he stole from the kitchen, smoking the 'three cigarettes you gave me, to smoke my tears away'. I don't know if I see him making a scene, drunkly screaming 'WHAT AM I DARLING? YOUR BIGGEST MISTAKE?' at the bride, while she's dancing with her husband, or he screams it at the empty room or going home. The fact that both songs have the 'i've got years to wait around for you' and 'to your lover boy; breaks me everytime. Maybe Damien never intended to link these songs, but they really tell us a story. A fucked up and painfully sad story, but hey, this's Damien Rice, I wouldn't have it any other way
Bruna Black there was this concert in Florence, a few years ago, where he partially told the story behind Cheers Darlin'. It goes along the same lines as you described it, though the 'wedding' per se wasn't a wedding. You'll enjoy Prague a lot. There is one place in particular that I can recommend, it's called Letna Park (near the Prague Castle). If you go there at dusk or dawn, listening to Damien, it's the most perfect and depressive place you can find on Earth.
+Constantin Ursu Oh, he problably told the story about the girl in the bar? He always tells this story, sometmes he changes something here and there. I love this story, but sometimes I wonder if Damien is lying, because he's a sneaky bastard that lies hahahaha. Cheers Dalin' always kills me, specially with the 'you gave me three cigarettes to smoke my tears away' argh. I wish I could hate Damien, then he wouldn't hurt me this way (I went to his concert last month and I cried over the full set. I just couldn't handle this fucker). But Prague is my fav sighs. And thanks for the tip, I'll write it down, for sure, because I really want some place like you described, so I can get all depressed, listening to Prague over and over and over again! Thank you so much!
+Bruna Black I never made that connection, but I think you're spot on! You're right... those two lines are in both songs. How did I not realize this? I think your chronology makes sense. Adding in Accidental Babies makes sense, as well. Thanks for making me rethink it all! As you know, we've had so many years to wait for new Damo music; I wonder if any of the songs on there continue the narrative? I'll have to think on that one. To me, the new album seems mostly written directly for Lisa.
A 13 year old and a 9 year old of very close family friends died yesterday... they were on the lake with their family and another family, when a drunk boater crashed into them. Their older brother watched them die. I have been listening to this nonstop, trying to accept the fact that this just happened. I don't know if it's helping me, all I know is I have cried too many tears the past two days.

They laugh and drink together until the last bus pass. At that moment he told her ''oh no you missed the bus'' she says ''it's ok my boyfriend will come and pick me up'' then seeing him disappointed she realised. @HeadInTheClouds Update: I ended up telling them about a week ago. I had moved on years ago already, but decided to shed the weight (one of many) while in the process of clearing out my closet.

@Spectral202 Beautifully put!
Zajebisty kawałek!!
Try to listen to the epic beat with 2x speed
1:35 to 2:07 is by far one of the best solo's I have heard.
I really want to use some of the choreography I saw on SYTYCD from this song. It was so emotional and it fit the song so perfectly.
Deep mixed emotions going on
YAY PRAGUE!!!!

Wish to meet you by the end of the summer.

I pack my suit in a bag
I'm all dressed up for prague
I'm all dressed up with you
All dressed up for him too...
Prepare myself for a war
Before i even open up my door
Before i even look out
I'm pissing all of my bullets about...
Wrap myself in a bag
I'm all wrapped up in prague
I'm all wrapped up in you
I'm all wrapped up in him too
Prepare myself for a war
And I don't know what i'm doing this for
Trying to let it all go
But how can i when you still don't know?
I could wait for you
Like that hole in your boot
Waiting to be fixed
I could wait for you
What good would that do
But to leave me bruised?
Cheers darlin'
Here's to you and your lover
...darling
I got years...
Pack my suit in a bag
Pack myself in a bag
