1961, PROJECT MAN IN SPACE, This 16mm film covers the earliest years of manned space flight with both Soviet and NASA film. Produced in 1961 this television documentary is hosted and narrated by Mike Wallace. David Wolper of "The Race For Space" fame, produced this film about the same time that Russian Yuri Gagarin completed the world's first successful manned space flight on April 12, 1961, American's was also able to herald its first successful manned space flight by Alan Shepherd on May 5, 1961.
