As a twosetter for the past three years, I would say that meanwhile I do like the format of these info-packed educational videos, what I really liked about twoset is their ability to make funny videos (yes, you guys ARE funny) AND pack them with so much information simultaneously. I'd say that I have learnt grade 1-2 music theory just from your videos. So just sayin, you guys have put up a lot of content to entertain and educate, and it might be the time to experiment with these formats. So take the time, we are here watchin' ❤

@@e2pii213 I have followed Twoset for six or seven years and appreciate almost everything they have done. In this video they asked twosetters about their thoughts and people answered. No one is pressing Twoset to do anything. It’s their channel, but when asked answers will be given.
I still think they sound like they read from a script and that’s boring… They could do the same content with a smile and editor-san can make funny comments. Or talk with that enthusiasm and happiness they usually have. They have built Twoset violin with humour and enthusiasm. Of course a huge change like this makes long time fans miss the OG.

I like a combination of both because I do like seeing the technical aspects of violin (they’re our sensei’s after all), but I do miss the “rawness” of their older videos. I don’t mind lengthy videos, it’s more of just when they make something with more production, it goes away from what we’re used to ( them just goofing around while doing what they do best ). So all in all, balance of their old video style and new video still is what I think is best

I was wondering if you could bring back the old q&a style videos (where people sent you questions about uni life and you guys answered a few - i enjoyed those two videos tremendously!) Because you guys are giving us some great education here and being diligent students (and LL wannabes) we are, sometimes we have questions to ask at the end of the class. Before watching:
    1. Theyre mostly or entirely made by hand (barring cheap garbage violins)
    2. Low demand for quantity
    3. High demand for quality
    4. Theyre really difficult to make, requiring a luthier who charges expert prices

    • @thecatladytm7172
      @thecatladytm7172 19 часов назад +1

Gotta be honest, as a repair luthier in a violin shop there is so much demand for quantity its not even funny. Enough that I could legitimately be buried in eastman 80s that I need to set up for customers who rent them. We also see a ton of amazon instruments and it hurts my soul to say that its literally unplayable because it doesnt have a bass bar.

@@rykehuss3435 its super fun. Im still in training with my mentor, practicing setups on mostly our rental fleet, but Ive done stuff on our higher value instruments on the sales floor as well as customer stuff too. Its hard to say, but just because an instrument is more expensive, it doesnt mean it's better than a cheaper one. Setup is a huge part of an instrument, from action height, the fingerboard scoop (its slightly concave because the string rotates wider in the middle), the peg fit, and most important: the soundpost. If the soundpost is in the wrong place, it influences both the structural integrity of the instrument and the sound. If its too close to the bridge feet it sounds tight, too far away and it makes a woody, hollow sound. If its too close to the center of the instrument it cant translate the vibrations properly, too close to the f hole and its the same. But there is a magic spot, with a bit of wiggle room to make it brighter or warmer while still making sure the instrument wont literally explode.
A well setup cheap instrument will always be better than an expensive, poorly setup one.
I just love this job, I could talk about it all day of you couldnt tell 😅

Anyone who says you're not funny can kick rocks! Even an Emmy-winning comedian with a roomful of award-winning writers can have jokes that fail or sketches that fall flat in front of an audience.
Loved watching and hearing you enthusiastically talk about the history & valuation of violins, as well as playing on them. Thanks to Nippon Foundation for bringing their collection together for this video! Noticed an interesting VSO on the right wall. Will we get a video about that?
However it might be better to split these long videos into 2+ parts. Not only because it's easier to consume while on a break between activities, but it spreads the risk of copystrike between the videos.

Dude I love the educational stuff, you've got a relatable and comedic way of conveying specialized subjects that aren't easy to come across if you're not already involved in that world. I've learned a ton from watching you that I never would have really obtained otherwise without getting involved in classical music personally, which your videos have helped me realize I'm interested in doing to some degree. I'm a 31 year old rock/metal/country guitarist and singer and I've been interested in the violin specifically since I was a small child but the classical music world has always kind of been off-limits or out of reach in ways with the tax bracket I was born into haha. Due to your videos exclusively I've gone ahead and got myself a $3500 dollar violin and 500 dollar bow that I don't even know how to play yet. But I will. I always had the interest but like in ways your videos are what made the whole idea approachable. I've learned music this whole time playing instruments that I don't really LOVE but really as a result of these videos, there will come a day when I'll actually ENJOY playing music and that'll be crazy. Guitar was always a substitute haha.

With that being said, I love "funny" or more like, relaxing, yet still educational in a way, videos from you guys too (You gusy ARE REALLY FUNNY don't question that, your own unique sense of humor is what brought me here several years ago!!). Just from my own perspective (so maybe very narrow-minded), it would be great if you guys can post long videos like this and short/relaxing videos in a staggered way (is that a word? lol). So let's say, two short videos followed by one long one? I love it when you guys talk in depth about these things, but tbh I do want to watch a funny little video to relax on a Friday night lol And also, this might be just me, and it might be hard to achieve, but inviting experts of the topic to join your long videos may be a good idea (like that last one!). For example, you guys can invite a Luthier (Olaf of course lol) to join you guys in this video to talk more about violin making and all that! Also, Eng sub may help those who are not very familiar with Aussie accent lol But you guys feel free to experiment with different formats and choose the one you prefer, we will be here for you! I enjoy history (and nerdy content in general) and it's a great joy to learn about violin history on my favourite channel❤ A few thoughts since you guys are asking for feedback: 1. personally I think the delivery would be more effective if you make it more conversational as opposed to one reciting lengthy paragraphs while the other just sitting there 😅 2. if having full subtitles is not possible, maybe showing the key points on screen? Sometimes it's a bit hard to follow for a non-native speaker 3. I feel like the demonstration on the violin could be a bit longer and a little more comments on their sounds from you both would be great 4. As a relatively new Twosetter who has been binging your content, I can see how you both have grown and matured over the course of the years (and it's been a delight to see). Personally, I love the funny videos...those are what initially got my attention and made me continue watching.
BUT I am also really enjoying these longer, more educational videos a lot! I find myself wanting to learn more about classical music and the violin in particular. (I would love to learn how to play, but I can't afford a violin, let alone lessons rn).
So....why not both? Some funny...some educational?
But whatever you do, create the content you enjoy making. It comes through in the videos and they are entertaining either way.
One last note...it seems this video was cut a bit short? Eddy says at the end, "On one hand, we have people like Sota..." and it cuts to the shop. But...there's not follow-up or "on the other hand..."

I feel like the goal of this channel has always been focused on bringing the world of classical music to a more modern audience through humor and education. You guys and your channel have matured a lot from when things were first started and I think these mixes of more serious educational videos are really interesting and work towards that goal. I'd never want to see you guys stop being hilarious and doing the more "fun videos" but I totally see a place for more of these types of long form serious ones as well and I hope to see more of them in the future!

I am not a musician. So I typically watch twoset becasue they are funny and play well violin.
That being said, I like these educational content. (We'll see if I edit my comment once I am done watching.)
I do, however, record video lectures. And there seem to be a small production issue in the video. The delivery is not quite right. It is obvious that you are reading from a script (probably a teleprompter). There are two parts of that. First is the script. The sentences are too long as if written in a book. You wouldn't naturally speak in such long sentences which makes it awkward. Second is delivery. You don't speak in natural voice but in reading voice, with emphasis somewhat misplaced.
I am still learning to do that myself. But I am sure you have theater friends who can help with natural delivery. And maybe youtuber friends from educational channels who can help with script and delivery techniques!
    Cheers!

One silver lining of price increases, It should give new or less known violin makers a chance to shine. Eventually, musicians are going to have to settle for newer violins, which might get rid of the psychological attachment to the older instruments. As well as allowing musicians to experiment with new sounds.

I think the added images make it feel as if it were a documentary or Uni lecture. Though I do love the longer videos I find that when you guys aren't on screen, I'm clicking to other tabs instead of actually watching. We have always LOVED your funny videos and as others have said, we love content where you just talk (educational or whatever) and be yourself (which is where we find you the most amusing and relatable). So yeah not a super big fan of the scripted lines.
But nah yeah, keep it up boys, you'll be right😊

I don't know what you guys are concerned about, you look and sound fairly relaxed through the video and there's plenty of (perceived) spontaneous reactions and even some gags here and there, just because there isn't a joke or overblown reaction every 5 seconds doesn't mean it's "too serious". I'm all up for this! 👍

I think the "educational" negative effect is because you seem to read a text so it feels like "school presentation".

I actually really enjoyed this! I would have liked to hear how they all differed in a sound a little more, maybe in a bigger space (though moving those violins is probably not ever gonna happen) but I noticed on a few how the sounded differed. Like on the 1738 Guarneri del Gesu violin sounded almost like it had a mute on, like the music was being played with the very core of the violin itself, if that makes sense. I was fascinated by how much history there is about all these luthiers I have never been prouder to play the violin WOW. Thanks for all your guys work. I think you had a good level of professionalism/respect as well as some humor with he video as well.

  • @elenagerenova8458

As many people have already mentioned, the educational format is good, but perhaps a bit too serious. This is mainly because, as others suggested, at times it sounds like you are reading from a script. While I did enjoy the video, I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had included just the footage from Nippon Violins and fewer AI-generated images. I do realize, however, how hard it is to illustrate a 20-minute video on a topic about people who died long before photography was invented.
I think you are very funny, and some of your greatest videos are those where you combine entertainment and education. A recent example would be the one about classical music in Hollywood movies (although, just a small correction, Ben Kingsley wasn’t a Nazi in Shutter Island, Eddy 😊) or the ballet video 😊.
That’s not to say you should only do fun videos-I love some of your serious work as well, like the video about elitism in classical music. I think the difference is that in that video, it was just the two of you sharing your thoughts. I guess what I’m trying to say is that sometimes just the two of you are more than enough; you don’t have to rely on sophisticated editing and captions. At least that’s my two cents on the subject.
I watch you religiously anyway, so keep doing what you do and have fun with your work. When you enjoy yourselves, it brings your fans the utmost joy.
I also love the podcast format 😊.
P.S. By the way, did you guys change your lighting? It looks different in the last couple of videos. It’s not a bad thing, just different.
P.P.S. The opening with the elephants was hilarious 😄

How to make a Bacon and Cheese Omelette Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Omelette. Take 3 Organic Pete and Gerry eggs and mix them with a small amount of milk. Then, put the mixture into a 10 inch round frying pan. Put the lid of the frying pan on and set the heat to 5/med. Wait until the mixture is fully cooked (no raw/wet spots whatsoever). Now, put a reasonable amount of cheddar cheese onto the cooked egg mixture. You can also put bacon with the cheese if that’s what you prefer. After, fold the omelette once (it should look like a semicircle). Now, take the omelette out of the pan for now.
Grilled Cheese. Take two slices of Publix Brioche bread and spread some lightly salted butter or mayo on one side of each slice of bread. Then put a slice of Vermont cheddar cheese on the opposite sides of the bread slices. Put the omelette in between the bread slices (the butter and cheese should be connected to the bread during this process. Now, put this sandwich onto the same pan. Cook each side to your liking, whether it’s perfectly cooked or not. After you are done cooking it, cut it down the middle so that there are to triangle slices of grilled cheese.
    Enjoy
