Wonderful! One thing: in the very last dialogue before you hit "Print", I had to switch the size setting from "Actual size" to "Fit" for it to shrink the page instead of cropping it.
Thank you!!! I was having a difficult time trying to figure out how to resize a book my wife wrote to fit within KDP. You showed me exactly what to do!
@@TheAccessibilityGuy yes, i have adobe cc, which includes the adobe acrobat. Although after some searching online, it turns out that macs no longer offer the adobe print option, unfortunately.
@@zeddstudio oh darn. Yeah Mac has all different settings. I have a site that is in beta right now called www.fixmypdf.com - you might try the crop option to see if works. It's web based.
How do I do this: We have big maps that are way to big to be printed on a normal page clearly. I want to zoom in on the map to the section I need and then crop it while it's zoomed in so it'll be clear once printed? I tried this but then it seems like some text stays and some doesn't? The file is in a PDF format although it's just a picture. If I resize the whole thing to fit on the printed page is just blurry so that's why I to zoom in as much as I can and just keep a small portion of the map. I've seen how to resize and stuff but not how to zoom in and then crop. Like basically I only need maybe 1/4 of the total dimensions of the map but I wanted to be as clear as possible
I would recommend zooming in and using a screenshot tool to grab a new image of the map with the higher quality. It's going to be pretty much impossible to do a print of something like that, so you need to use a third party tool. If you are using a PC, you should have access to a tool called snippet which is a fantastic screen grabbing tool.b
@@TheAccessibilityGuy yeah I ended up doing just that. Snipping the picture to the size I need at the zoom I need it at. Although it would be nice to snip it exactly at the 8.5 x 11 size. People are suggesting Bluebeam is better than Adobe for blueprints and cropping and making work packs.
This is a great video! You're right. You cannot print to PDF on a Mac. I didn't look into why Apple doesn't allow it, but I did find a specific statement that it is not available. It is not just your particular Mac having some kind of problem. It is all Macs.
Thankx. However i cant get rid of a notable color shift after this step, no mater the settings i try. It has lost some saturation. It is absolutely ourageous that you are paying for PDF program that is considered the industry standart and i just spent over 3 hours trying to figure out how to do the most basic thing - set/change the project size. Coming from Photoshop and illustrator where this is a matter of 3 clicks, this has absolutely blown my mind.
When I do this, when I go to switch the Adobe settings and click OK, it tries to get me to save it. Then when I select print after making the changes, it turns it into a text file, not a new PDF.
Hmm that doesn't quite make sense to me. You're not switching the Adobe settings. You are changing the printer to adobe PDF right? There shouldn't be a button to hit OK there should be the option to print.
Thank you, this is very clear and concise. I still can't do it and I've realised I think that's because I have a Chromebook 😫I'm going to borrow a windows PC somehow and try again alongside your vid, thanks for sharing your expertise
How do you enlarge the image size along with the page size? I'm converting an 8.5 x 11 page to 10 x 13 - while I can get the new page size, the image size stays the same, just on larger paper!
OK, just found how to rescale the document to a new size page, so that works. BUT.... when I try to print on a booklet of this size document on to 12.95 x 19 the image shrinks back to the original 8.5 x 11. Any way to make this work? (Epson WF-7840 if that matters).
@@TheAccessibilityGuy I think what everyone is trying to tell you here is that we have adobe pro and Adobe PDF is literally not an option when we go to select printers. Sounds like this might be a Mac specific thing. But it makes this tutorial useless for all of us.
If you follow this guide, you will lose all interactive elements (e.g. form fields, check boxes) in your PDF. A better way to resize your PDF would be to use Print Production - Preflight tool in Acrobat Pro. This way you will retain everything from the original PDF and avoid the quality loss caused by reprinting.
