  • Once again Vic warriors I’m back with another easy modification you can make to your crown Vic for under 20 dollars...KEYLESS ENTRY!!!! that’s right you can go to amazon if your older P71 comes without keyless entry or your door module is completely burned out and, purchase yourself a BANVIE simple keyless entry unit and install in under an hour. The whole kit cost 15 dollars and some change and comes with basic instructions and two really boss key fobs. In this video you will see that I didn’t hook up the lights or horn and I said I would explain why. You can avoid the lights hook up all together because when you hook up the lock and unlock features of this kit it’s brain will use the bypass from the old ddm or door module to have the lights flicker like they normally would when locking the car. This is a feature I discovered post installation. The unit is durable and EASY to install. If you’re looking to quickly apply this feature and spruce up your already awesome car!!!! SHADOW and I love to see you come to our page and enjoy our videos. We would like to hear from you guys as well...So like! Click! Subscribe! Share here in Vic City and as always warriors RIDE HIGH! Disclaimer: we encourage all viewers to look into their cars factory wiring and placements before any install. Safety is key in all electrical installs. We also do not actively promote or sell for any vendor on eBay or amazon. This show is for the Vic warriors out there wanting to apply easy tips and tricks for customized parts and modifications.
    Key Less Entry Kit: www.amazon.com...
    Side Note: This unit happens to be its own relay so there is no need to wire one to it. Second, It has inline fuses installed on it as well. These two things are a plus for such a thin discreet wire harness and unit. The unit is actually quite powerful. You can hear the actuators slam!!

      I didn’t connect the flashers as it was just an addition feature to the wiring system and I didn’t want to splice and combine all the wires I just primarily wanted the locking feature which in any alarm system is the most critical part. Thank you for commenting.

      Hey!!! I’m elated to hear that my tutorial got things rolling for you. Now here’s the thing if you already have a trunk release button in your car you’re going to have to run the wire that’s designated for the trunk from your keyless entry unit to the hot side of that button release if not then you can alway run a direct wire from your trunk release in the back of the car to the unit……you should here a faint audible click if the trunk release is working. Also as a reminder check how things are grounded and secured/. Even if I feel like I’ve done things right I go back to make sure nothing is “cross wired” and everything is fitted with great connection. If you go back to trouble shoot and you still end up scratching your head hit me back and let me know what’s happening so we can go into greater detail……and as always fam stay safe and stellar💪🏿☄️🙏🏿

      This is correct some makes and model of car have different auxiliary, locking features, and those lines can be used for that if you’d like, but it’s purely optional

    • @missakhaladjian

      @ladypantha583 just not to confuse people, the yellow and yellow black are gound wires not outputs, the orange wires are not used for most cases.

    Awesome! I really appreciate this tutorial! I do have a question though. Do you happen to know the Amp fuse for your Door Locks? My BANVIE 15 amp fuse keeps popping because my car takes 30 amps. I know some cars take 15 or less, that's why the 15 amp fuse on the BANVIE unit is fine for some. DO you think the 15 amp was for the BANVIE unit, or for the car system for safety?

    • @ladypantha583
      @ladypantha583  3 года назад

      I would first check your cars make and model fuse box under the driver side kick plate to see which of those fuses match with the locking features of your doors. As I recall there is a fuse attached to the Banvie unit to act as a safety conduit between the unit and the actual locking components of your car. That’s what most in-line fuses are designed for /but let’s trouble shoot that theory. If your car runs in thirty amps have you thought to remove the fuse entirely from the unit to see if you still have a positive reaction from the receiver. Please let me know I’m curious.

      @BruceLigno 3 года назад

      @@ladypantha583 I wasn't expecting such a quick reply, lol. I will not have access to it since all my fuses blee on the BANVIE wire atm. I will do it tomorrow morning when the shops open once I get my hands on another fuse!

    • @BruceLigno
      @BruceLigno 3 года назад +1

      @@ladypantha583 I apologize for the long delay, I got busy, but I managed to figure out the problem; It had nothing to do with the amps. There are TWO black wires that run through the door in my car, but I didn't notice because the one I needed was hidden between all the other ones. I ended up hooking the unit up to the motor window wire, which thicker and draws *A LOT* more power, and popped the fuse. I managed to find that the thinner black wire was the one I needed, so now it works perfectly!

      @@BruceLigno this is glorious I’m content with the fact that it wasn’t to far of a correction into a functioning system. I’ve noticed with the Banvie units they have a lot of versatility when it comes to installing them to work. Keep your questions and ingenious ideas coming. This is always greatly appreciated🙌🏿

    I have an 05 Grand Marquis with no factory keyless entry. I tapped into the same wires but i had to wire orange wires to ground and yellow wires to 12v to work. At the bottom of the instructions there are a few different wiring configurations ... (positive/negative) one worked for me. Would like to get the switches inside working though. Still trying to figure that out.

    • @ladypantha583
      @ladypantha583  Год назад +2

      I value your comment! Some configurations might be slightly different but what I have discovered with installs is that the switches become inert allowing only the key switch to operate. I don’t know if this is some type of security measure with the Banvie unit /or if that is the way the wiring in the module reacts to the the wiring already done in the Vic/marquise/panther platform etc.
      There may be an alternate wAy to run a main wire from the switch to the box to make the door locks actuate.
      I’m glad that I’m some small way my video could be a light guide.

      @@ladypantha583 it’s a great video. If I stumble across a way to do it I will keep you posted. My passenger switch actually still functions but the drivers side doesn’t. This is a build for my daughter. I body swapped an 84 Marquis 2 door onto an 05 Marquis chassis and drive train. I may just use the passenger switch and place it in a central location for both driver and passenger access if I don’t figure out another way. But the door switches are rarely used so it’s not the end of the world. Yes, my 15 year old daughter requested a box Marquis as her first car lol.

      So I figured it out. I added two 5 prong relays. You can get a 5 pack on Amazon for $13 or so.
      One for unlock side and one for lock side. So where the switch wire is cut (pink and green / pink and yellow wires) - on the relay, connect the switch side of the cut to 30, connect the other side to 87a, connect 85 to a ground, connect 86 to the lock or unlock wire on the banvie, connect 12v source (positive on battery)to 87 and boom, all switches and remote all work. On the 12v wire going to the relay add an inline fuse 30a. My banvie is set to the positive/negative configuration (both yellow wires to 12v and both orange wires to ground). Basically this wiring setup on the relay allows the switches to rest at ground and then pulls ground and adds a positive connection to whichever button you push through the switch side while the other relay allows the side you didn’t press to continue to rest at ground. You will wire each relay the same the only change is all lock wires are on one and all unlock wires on the other. They can share ground and 12v wire.

      Check to ensure the ground is nice and tight and nothing is Loose you may also apply an in line fuse for resistance. You can also increase fuse capacity. So let’s say you keep blowing a ten there is no danger in progressing up to a 15 or 20 instead. Also please take note that the way I hooked the unit up in this video you can lock and unlock with your key fob but not manually within the car door panel buttons that feature no longer works once this keyless entry is installed this way. I hope this helps and if not please shoot me back your results so that we might be able to trouble shoot. Let me know if you’re working with a different type of car.

    If you’re trying to link the trunk up so it can pop guys here’s my note:
    If you hook your P71 up the way I wired this unit the trunk should pop without having to use the trunk wire directly. On this unit from Banvie that I purchased the unlock button and trunk button work without having to use a trunk wire. However if you discover that it’s not working you will have to take the wire from the unit and run it to the (hot) trunk wire in your car. Again there should be some type of unlocking done because the unit has already been grounded. I hope that this continues to help those out there watching. If there are more suggestions or questions send them my way
