The head I can deal with. It's the vinyl cracking that caused me to send mine back.

Idk if they could’ve chosen like a better red vinyl or if all vinyl is the same but I’ve had mine for 2weeks-ish and the vinyls on the shoulder is already tearing and wrinkled. My ffh spidey is perfect after 1 year

I ordered one a couple days ago and very much looking forward to it! I don't have a normal comic Spidey for my collection and now I do.
I guess D Amazing just convinced me to get yet another figure! I really like how the figure looks, my favorite aspect being the head, and it has a bunch of accessories.
I like how Spider-Man has a mix of both Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr. with the two mask heads and including the Steve Ditko looking Peter Parker unmasked along with half Peter half Spidey head sculpt, I only collect Marvel Legends but he still looks so dope, Great review on him D Amazing.
I mainly consider him steve ditko instead of JR Sr. Mainly since i always saw ditko spidey as a tiny guy when ditko drew me but romita made him a literal tank

Mine is coming in from Big Bad tomorrow, and I plan to do a lot of crossover pics with the Jim Lawson TMNT return to NYC NECA figures. Can't wait for that Green Goblin Mezco figure.

I'm pretty sure Mezco would enlarge the head whether or not it has LEDs. Their head sculpts tend to be oversized all around
Love Mezco but you’re not wrong. The Gotham by Gaslight Batman head is why I passed on that figure. It’s so frustrating because they’ve done figures with normal sized heads before. I don’t know what the issue is.

Wonderful review D!! The head is a bit big but with certain poses you don’t notice it as much..nonetheless still a solid release.
That squinty eye headsculpt is actually a Steve Ditko version
D!! Great review, boss! I gotta say, I kinda want this, and I can’t even blame you this time! (Not totally😅) I actually kinda like the jankiness of the suit. It’s like Pete’s first or second effort at making his own costume. So in that regard, it actually works for me. I understand this won’t work for everyone, but with Spidey’s noggin size, it definitely has the “guy in a suit” vibe.
Amazing figure ...so far the only Spiderman action figure i evy ......that much artculation with the actual suit like degisn is what set apart from the rest love it

I have this figur,e, still in box. Im affraid of posing him, because of the wrinkles at the shoulders. Should I be worried? What about 5 years from now? What do you think about the wrinkles at the shoulders? I dont know if I should sell this of not because of the wrinkles.

Thanks for the great review! I personally want to display him with the ff4 set and try and recreate that comic cover. He is taking forever to land in hand here. At least I have this review to ease the pain lol.
When skinny Peter was bitten by radioactive spider, the next day he gained muscles. So, it makes more sense if this figure head is smaller, otherwise skinny Peter (before the bite) looked like grey aliens. But, we are so used to seeing figures with big head in Marvel Legends and Mezco, we tend to accept the norm that those big heads are okay. Toybiz and DCUC got the head and body proportion comic accurate. Those big heads remind me of toys for kids. Just my 2c
I certainly don't accept the head scale on this one. Certainly not for the price.
@@DesperadoDingo Yeah, it's too big. A head with light feature is unnecessary. Now, I just have to hope for a third party head that would have matching web lines to the body and Ditko eyes. *sigh*

I think he’s more Ditko than Romita senior. I have the omnibus of amazing and I’d say he’s way more Ditko. I’d love a Mezco that would be more Romita/Gil Kane. He had that look for way longer.
Just got mine yesterday day Holy Cow this figure is great I mean u can’t pose him like a marvel legend or Mafex ect but this is a 60’s tribute spidey and he didn’t go into them Bagley Macfarlane poses anyway but it’s such a cool figure his left leg on mine is a little lose when you lift his leg up but not to bad hopfully it doesn’t get worse . I’m getting Green Goblin Monday so yeah (pun) Amazing review bud
I had the same issue with mine. Missing camera strap, bad web application on the head, and loose leg. No idea how these reviewers get lucky. Even the Bishop gave me problems. Loose legs and snapped arm.
Wow they made an action figure of my older brother in the Spidey costume he wore for a kids' birthday party. How nice.

I just got into one:12’s, I like most, but this lines main. Selling points are the accessories & taylored outfits. I think they should cost $80 - $100. Some are reasonably priced til you see certain characters like super man & spidy are $120 & dr doom for $150! Too much. & who are these for??? Con shoppers?? Because I wanted a Gomez and everything was sold out… looked like mono’s site. Just another toy line you have to watch out for drops

I think the head and the hips makes him look like a 12yr old. Just as puberty hits and your body is kinda going "grow here first! Now here! I don't care if you're five ft five tall right now. Here's size 12 feet!"

Too bad spidey can’t get the same treatment that Spider-Man 2099 did, the quality difference is night and day. How about instead of the vinyl , just do a separate red fabric down to the blue, raised black weblines applied the way Batman beyond’s details were added. Maybe a texture added to the colors like on 2099

The Legends Fantasy Spidey looks like he's in clown shoes in the comparisons. It's all I can see now, glad I don't collect Marvel Legends. Am expecting my first Mezco tomorrow tho, getting Doctor Doom.
Love the review, the posing, and all things spider-man. Mezco just sucks for spidey figures. The cloth is alright for batman/superman, but its just not for me on spiderman figures at this scale. Heck even my hot toys spiderman looks dumb in dynamic posing (looks immaculate while standing tho)

So he’s supposed to be small…..well that takes away my number one complaint. Can’t really complain if it’s the size it’s supposed to be…..
Well Wolverine is mostly 5' 3 so Peter would mostly maybe be like 5' 8 or 6' 0.
He's not really that small, his head is just too big.

I dislike mezco for usually always oversizing heads. Not always but usually. Major turn off.
It’s funny, people love to hate on Mezco Darkseid, Hulk, ZSJL 3 pack, and Thanos etc… This is by far, the worst release they have produced thus far. A Spider-man that you are unable to pose because the suit cracks. I’m so happy that I canceled this one (even if I’m out $12). I love Mezco but they’re literally getting beat down by 3rd party developers.
The bigger head is more realistic. Marvel Comics drew stuff to heroic proportions which made the heads smaller.

Normally I'd agree with you - Mezco makes their heads bigger to match real human proportions and not comic proportions - but they missed the mark here. It's still too big even for a real person, and even for a younger real person. A human being is roughly 7.5 heads tall, whereas this figure isn't even 7 heads tall
@@CygnusX999 The problem is that this figures proportions are actually further off from Ditko's drawings than they are from a real person. Like, if they were going for a real person in a Spider-man suit, then this is pretty close, except for the head being a bit oversized. Ditko drew Spider-Man with comic book proportions, with a smaller head and a wider chest. Its not as extreme as how later artists would draw but they're still way off from human proportions, and frankly not captured well in this figure at all IMO. They would probably need a different buck under the suit to really capture those early comic hero proportions.
