I know that tree will be put to good use. We don’t get much silver Burch here in Cornwall where I am , so I could be doing a raid on your wood store for a spoon blank lol 😂, happy new year to to both , hopefully see you next year.
Happy Holidays Ben. At any time while you were felling that tree with a camp axe did you think, "I think I need to make a bigger axe?" Or possibly "I need to make saws." thanks as always for a fun video, and good on you for being such a good steward of your patch of the planet.
Everything I've read suggests a birch with a trunk that size shouldn't coppice? Have you experience of it? I've just planted 20 downy birch in the back garden for firewood in the coming decades under the understanding they wouldn't resprout lol! I've planted many hazel, willow and a few other bits and pieces that will coppice.

Surely you know that even a 600mm forest axe would be far more efficient?
We’ve just been making some of our Campcraft Axe’s again, so thought to put them to the test!
