    Commentator is being very harsh. This was only Wilder's 7th pro fight, who is he supposed to fight? Tyson fought about 20 bums in a row before he fought someone decent.

    Love that right hand! Looks like Basketball player at heavyweight. So far he reminds me of if a Hearns/Dawson type fighter. I want to see Wilder start jabbing to the body more in the future.

    Teddy’ analysis of Wilder would prove true against Fury. However, it was amazing Wilder’s accompshment without having much in the form of boxing skills. Teddy was kind of harsh though and overlooked WIlders talent. With limited boxing skills he ended being HW champion and defended it 10 times. However Teddy’s analysis was correct when he finally faced a skill-guy in Tyson Furry. Had Wilder had a more solid foundation as a boxer he might have been able to beat Fury in one or two of their fights and held onto the belt awhile longer. I actually thought Wilder won the first fight and showed decent skills, while going with those two knockdowns. Teddy’s insight was a mixed bag, that was a little overly harsh and overlooked Wilders talent and toughness, but proved largely true against Fury.

    let's see what wilder can do when someone finally gets a good hit on him.

    This commentary proves that Teddy Atlas really doesn’t know as much about boxing as he says.
    At 4:30 he says brings up “Thurman” and how both Thurman and Wilder are fighting bums and not learning. For anyone wondering, yes, he’s talking about Keith Thurman who beat Travis Hartman just before this fight with Wilder.
    He’s saying that these two future world champions and elite level fighters aren’t learning both men would go on to hold world titles for several years and both have only lost to the best fighters in the world (Manny Pacquaio and Tyson Fury).

    Teddy talks about the lack of competition. Yet mike tyson built his record off of complete bums with losing records.

    • @carrastealth
      @carrastealth 10 лет назад +2

      Tyson was also about 18 when he was building his record while Wilder is in his mid 20s and has about 30 pounds on Tyson as well as 7 inches in height.
      But either way to me Teddy shouldn't be hating on someone fighting an easier fight in their 7th fight like Wilder was here.

      carrastealth different times tho... mike in his prime .. would knock out most of the heavy weights at the time.. before he went on coke sadly,lost his edge....even now most heavy weights are bumbs..

    • @carrastealth
      @carrastealth 10 лет назад +1

      Raphael Garcia imo Cus' death is what started the downward spiral, and also the fact that Tyson was so good in his era he pretty much accomplished everything there was to accomplish in the heavyweight division by 21.
      To hit the top so quickly so fast and not having the mentors as he lost both of them as he was on his way to the top there was only one real direction to go from there.
      I am glad he has bounced back in his life though.

    • @jimmorrison5832
      @jimmorrison5832 10 лет назад

      His era unfortunately came along where there were no good heavyweights left. Tyson beat bums and mediocre fighters.

    • @carrastealth
      @carrastealth 10 лет назад

      Jim Morrison Tyson beat the best Heavyweights that were around. So we can't blame him for his era.
      Beating Spinks, Holmes, Berbick, Tony Tucker who was 34-0, Tyrell Biggs, Toby Tubbs, Razor Ruddock. Those were the best guys that were around then and all were champions and Tyson beat them all.
      So Tyson deserves the credit for dominating the era he was in. Heck lets compare other heavyweight champion era's after him.
      Lennox Lewis' biggest name on his resume is Shannon Briggs, the overrated David Tua and an over the hill Mike Tyson.
      Vitali's biggest win wasn't even a win, it was a loss to Lennox Lewis and aside from that the biggest name on his list was Chris Byrd..whom he also lost to. So I guess Vitali's claim to fame was leading by 2 rounds against Lennox Lewis..and then beat Kirk Johnson for the title.
      His brother Wladimer's biggest name on his resume is Sam Peter and a one eyed Lamon Brewster in a revenge match and Calvin Brock and oh yeah David Haye.
      And even if we look at Holyfield's 'reign' the only reason it gets significant talk at heavyweight is because of the trilogy with Riddick Bowe. Aside from that an out of his prime Mike Tyson and a draw and loss to Lennox Lewis.
      The "golden age of heavyweight competition" ended with Spinks and Holmes. Since then you can look at the list of all heavyweight champions after and say "eh... not that impressive."
      The only difference is that only Tyson and Lewis unified the championships.
      But in all honesty the 'golden age' where there was competition in the heavyweight division and everyone had a name there ended with Spinks/Holmes if we're all being honest. Even still, Mike Tyson dominated his era. Lewis dominated his era. Wlad and Vitali dominate their eras.
      Neither of those era's are anything close to what Ali and Holmes had to deal with and likely never will be.

  • @AlvinRey70
    @AlvinRey70 11 лет назад

    if Deontay Wilder reminds you of a Hearns/Dawson type fighter then the Heavyweight division is in trouble Lol in exception of Hearns of course because he accomplished more than Dawson. in the meantime Wilder is fighting stiff competition that is not really providing him much progress but just tune ups. i do say win lose or draw he will get a title shot some day if it happens and against a Klitschko brother, more like Wladimir and we will see what Wilder is really made of as a solid Heavyweight.

  • @topdog90U
    @topdog90U 12 лет назад

    Yeah if he fight them now but he need 2 or 3 real good fighter and he could challenge the Klitchkos. He need to see some pressure fighters to see how he would respond.

Which leaves interesting fights for this guy in the future I'm still not going to sit here and act like this guy is 210. He's hitting to hard and he's to tall for how he ripped he looks for me to sit here and believe he's 210. If the guy ever moves into the 220 225 range I want to see him fight Chris Arreola.

    interesting, i remember wlad used to fight like wilder and KO many people in round 1. Until he met someone with good chin and punched himself out. Consider this is version 1 for wilder, if he doesn't upgrade himself in the course of the career he will never be a champion as throwing so many wild punchest won't work vs top opponents. As far as his power is impressive, he is still short of wlad's punching power
