Pain IS pleasure man. Always love to see the hard work thrown in there. It is, quite honestly, my favorite part of mountain biking. Nothing like conquering a brutal climb.
Climbing switchbacks are what gets me pumped! Trying to turn while in a low gear and climbing. I enjoy the technical aspect of climbing and picking the best lines. I love how much mountain biking involves every part of your body. Physically and mentally.
Just binged on the last 3 videos on the 65" with the home theater cranked up to hear the tires griping the dirt and everything else that makes MTBing one of the best sports on the planet ..... From dusty to rain and hail - awesome stuff brother!
I'd love to see you, Alex, Phil, and Seth together on one of these 3-5 day adventures. Each of you have top shelf videos but when there's collaboration it's just a whole new level of awesome.
Brian, this video is so great. Loving watching it on my big screen. I can definitely tell that you are really improving technically and I'm loving watching it!
I've seen you ask whether your viewers ride. I'm 42, just went through my second hip replacement (long story) a few weeks back. Been off the bike for 3 years due to hips. I watch these videos to keep me stoked and motivated to power through the physio and get back out there. I often watch them while on the stationary, living vicariously and pretending it is me.
some people drink alcohol after work to reduce stress. some people watch tv some people meditate some people go to a ymca i watch bkxc after a hard day of work everyday
Wow what a very cool trail! But what really is jumping out at me is your improved riding skills. I remember not all that long ago watching your videos thinking this guy has speed but skills would not hold up on the stuff I like to ride. Now I watch and think not sure I could clean those rocks you just did. And not sure I would try that section. I have been riding for 25+ years and have never seen someone improve as rapidly as you have Brian! Kudos !!!
You mentioned your breathing during the "pain" segment of the ride. Here's a breathing technique I enjoy, when you feel like gasping for breath, focus instead on exhaling as deeply as possible. Afterwards the lungs immediately fill with air, effortlessly. Stale air is flushed more effectively from the lungs and I feel like this helps me recover quicker when I need to take a break.
Ah yes the rain, hail sun and back to rain and hail. That's alpine weather lol.Dispite the long ass up hill slugs and wet conditions amazing run. Man I hate climbing but it's so worth it there
Awesome scenery, great area. Thanks for sharing this experience. BTW, you need to lead (I know you like the perspective from someone in front of you) but you are the best rider in the group and you seem to be slowing down regularly. Keep the videos coming, we like seeing you on the trail
You can do It! The climb after the rocks, man no way. Been meaning to say this; Didn't know Chris Martin from Coldplay is a MTB'er lol! Love the adventure. 👍👍
Hey Brian. Thanks for sharing this with us. No time to do my normal commenting, so I'm going to say just a couple of things. First, how nice is that cabin? I mean, seriously, a place like that to shelter out of the rain on a bike ride? That is too cool. With a wood burning stove, to boot! They must get a lot of winter riders up there. Was it secure enough to stay overnight if necessary? Also, those rocks were impressive. Not sure how I'd feel about riding those. But overall, this trail looked like good fun. You asked at one point "why do I care?" I'm sure you know the answer. We care because we love this sport. We're willing to put up with the pain to get that pleasure. The suck is worth it. I'm glad you're having fun on this. I hope one day we'll have an opportunity to meet up. Until your next video, stay upright and keep the rubber side down.
É muita coragem andar na chuva com todas essas pedras grandes. Como sempre lugares muito bonitos e privilegiados. Brian seus vídeos são viciantes. Até o próximo!!!
It looked Like you were Riding in a picture. The scenery was freaking amazing. Thanks Brian. Oh How is that ring HR Monitor doing I think I missed you talking about it?
Oh wow Brian. You did some amazing climbs. Insane. Shows how much you progressed since i started following your channel. Not that i could do any of these... :-P Haha
BKXC,Nice video Great riding! On another note did you hear the article on singletracks of the ring of bikethieves lake tahoe area thought they might hav your other bike,
I've not had a look at your site for a while.Family matters & work and life sometime take up some time! Thanks for the heads-up re. the fork. My 5010 came with a Pike and it works just fine.
My dad was a hunter, so growing up, I developed a good eye for spotting game. Most people I go with, would never see all the animals if I didn't point them out. You might have passed a lot of game and didn't even realize it
Hey Brian, great video. I remembered that crazy steep switchback. The video just doesn't do it justice. Where are u off to next after Revy? Golden and mt seven?

Couldn't agree more.
The total package for sure, gotta earn it!

Ba boom!
I'd love to see you, Alex, Phil, and Seth together on one of these 3-5 day adventures. Each of you have top shelf videos but when there's collaboration it's just a whole new level of awesome.

Well, you wanted to avoid the dust. Mission accomplished! Another fantastic ride.
The sweat tax you paid on that one looked well worth it!
That cabin was unreal. I'd love to open my front door to that lake view every day.
Big time sweat tax with an import tariff tacked on!

I've not had a look at your site for a while.Family matters & work and life sometime take up some time!
Thanks for the heads-up re. the fork. My 5010 came with a Pike and it works just fine.

Great video Brian👍.Loved the sound underneath your wheels👌👌. Have you done something with your handlebars ?? They look different.
Thanks man! I tilted the handlebars up a bit more

Big time!
ROCKALICIOUS!!!
My sentiments exactly!
dude, what a gorgeous place
Yeah, it had it all.
Dude! Awesome stuff! Are you planning to upgrade to GoPro 5 or you are riding this one to the ground ?
Thanks man! GoPro 5 audio is not good, most guys running it are using an external mic and that just complicates things.
And the Hero6 will be out soon I bet! Hopefully they'll get the audio right.
Good point, actually audio is ok, but you need to modify (drill) the casing which covers 2 out of 3 mics :D But let's see what GoPro 6 delivers!
Hello Brian. when you were doing endo turns, How hard do you press on your front brake? Can you do a tutorial video?
Gotta go full on stoppage. I'm still a far way away from getting them!
Holy Toledo! You are a goat!
🐐 Yeah buddy! 🐐
These are my kind of trails!
Yeah, this one was such a great ride!
