My pick for the most talented excavator operator on UTube. One of few who has to deal with really tight spaces and close tolerances on a regular basis. Nice work DB.

**Request Dirt Boss** You have got to set up your gopro on the side of that bridge when you go across it loaded. Would love to see how much it deflects! Thanks! As always awesome job!
*YOU* Big GUY have a way to talk details of what the job will be like you invented it. It's like you rehearsed it all but I attribute much to your years of expertise - *BUT* funny thing is you do the same on10+ *DIFFERENT* jobs. Did *DIRT BOSS* give us a new VIDEO? *YES* so there are NO MISHAPS - *JUST ALL GOOD* and we thank you!!!
Wow....I really love this channel Mike. Your energy is very cool! Great explanation all the way through.....Outstanding brother....Thumbs Up All the Way!!
Bing, bang, boom, just like that DB gets it done.💪 Nice to see Crazy Carl back on site!! Mike you haven’t missed a step on moving concrete around 💪 Nice a Nice my friend 👍🇺🇸
I’m curious why you put the stone over the foam? In my experience stone goes first to provide a drainage plane below the concrete. Dirt, stone, foam, vapor barrier, then concrete. With the blankets you’ve used here you’re effectively creating a vapor barrier between the dirt and the stone. Enjoy your videos regardless just wondering what the strategy is here.
First off love your video's and your projects. I learn a bunch every time. Question, What make of concrete blankets are you using? Thanks and all the best. Keep up the great video's and great work you do. Stay safe.
Well done Mike you still teach me new ideas on digging with your explanations but I am jealous of your material to dig I just have thin layer of clay then bedrock usually, but if it’s to easy it’s boring ha ha
Anyone know what kind of stone was that for the base? It didn't look the same as the crush-n-run that we have where I am. The stuff we get packs real tight like concrete, that looked different. I'm not too familiar with this stuff, so I'm definitely ignorant on the subject.
@@DIRT-BOSS Wow, thanks for the reply! Do you have a video on when to use which type of stone? I used "2-inch minus" for my shed and driveway base. It packed in real solid. I watered it and tamped in 2" lifts. But I'd love to learn if I should've used clean stone, or when it's appropriate to use what.
@DIRT-BOSS Question about your frost blankets/concrete blankets - Don't frost blankets rely on tiny pockets of trapped air to get their insulation value? I'm pretty sure frost blankets need space, they need 'loft'/fluff in order to have insulation value. If they are compressed their insulation value disappears. Does the spec sheet for those frost blankets list the R value for compressed blankets? Thanks.
45 minutes from start to finish ???? 🤣 if only it was that simple...... 🤷♂️ Back on the concrete gang, hard work, but rewarding 😁👊 Bridge is probably ready for replacement, now that would be an interesting one for you, Mike !!!!
I’m a fan of the Sany machines! I know you like kubota and I’ve ran them a lot but those Sany machines for the price and warranty they have they in my opinion work better than the kubota
You're a surgeon with that tilt bucket! How would you do this if it was on a clay base? I'm considering doing a frost protected mono slab for my new shop, but I'm only about 2' over bedrock, and it's pretty much all clay... any suggestions?
You could either cut it down to the bedrock filling with stone or just put Stone under it we do it all the time here on Clay you'll be fine you could also do the extra step and put geotextile road fabric under it then Stone
@@DIRT-BOSS I was thinking of either placing the posts (and their supports) in place just before the concrete so the concrete will encase the posts and shear the tops off to same height, or placing 6x6 mounts into the concrete, then place the posts and the rest after. I was thinking the latter would be the best idea.
@DIRT-BOSS I couldn't see them in the video. How did you hold them to the pins? All the symons panels I have used only have the slots for keys and holes for nails
Man I hope to never work with the engineer that made you do that. We do a ton of mono slabs for garages and never had to insulate one yet. I bet you were wishing you kept the 121 on site to throw that stone around, we typically only use our 306 Cat to do all the work
Amazing work guys that floor is flat. You should see the floors in my house in Arizona. The builders using that cheap labor coming across that southern border. They work fast but the quality really suffers. I appreciate that it’s all Americans working on your project. Americans need to come first not the illegal aliens. In other countries Americans don’t come first. Enough said, thank you for the video.
Sorry about the editing mishap this one was tough for me for some reason!! 💪
Didn't even notice.......Have a good week Mike!!

no biggie, i was confused for like 25 seconds. thought maybe i clicked something by mistake. lol
@DIRT-BOSS what do u edit on? Computer or iPad or phone? What editor program?
Make no mistake about it..This Man LOVES his Tilt Bucket..(Can Ya Blame Him?)
How many functions can you add? It like going from 2 button on a 1990 Nintendo to a 101 keyboard for fornite

Nice. Never seen a tilt bucket on a skid. Million dollar idea
You're pretty good with the skid steer. Good work!

Nice job Mike . Yeah I got a break out the tilt bucket and give it to work out !
Great video Mike. Not everyone understands that type of a slab.
Thaanks for the blanket tip. no more hollows and odd pieces that never stay put
You made it look easy. Nice work. Good vid thanks
Im impressed w the whole brand dirt boss. Btw i appreciate u coming over and checking out that muddy feet podcast
Enjoyed watching as always.
Well looks who's 1st 🤠👍

now i know what to save all the old blankets for

Thermal protection from frost.. any moisture will drain out from the blanket it's got stone under it and on it
GOOD MORNING
Another great video and great work Mike👍🏻 Concrete hard work and can also be fun work to do
So the key around permafrost is to fill up with gravel? How deep is needed to be secure long term?

Can the slap holds 2 story shed? Will the side need to be deeper than 18 inches? Planing to build a 16x28 sheds. Love the video!
You would have to ask your manufacturer of the building if it's a prefab or you're building code
What’s the fabric you used? Can that be used instead of foam insulation?
Concrete Frost blankets
How come you want a 35 size mini? I'm looking at the 040.
Yeah 35 zero turn
What blankets did you use?
Concrete thermal dont know manufacturer

I am in Kentucky and we deal with a frost depth of 24-30". I am wondering, would this method work for something like a pole barn 40x60?
@@msdarwin04 yes but Pole Barns use the poles as support concrete goes inside

How come some times you have a 2 ft haunch sometimes 1 ft?
All depends on how it's engineered
What does a job like this run for a 24x36 w/ 6" in the center? You come down to Ulster County?
Yeah you have to Email me
@@DIRT-BOSS just did. 👍
I think and Alaskan slab would have vertical and horizontal insulation on the perimeter.
Not all of them..some have none
Cool 😎
Question how come nor a 36 in footer
Floating slab
Where do you get those blankets?🌟🌟🌟
Zero ☔ in Texas 🥵😩🔥
Well looks who's 1st . 5:50?.
Besides the stone what held the symons panels in place and to grade?
Metal pins stakes

Attached to the whalers
Do these slabs work well for Adirondack camps? Any heaving issues? Looking to get my camp done upstate
No they work well they're meant to float
Too bad you don’t have slinger trucks in your area…perfect job for one.
What was the cost for something like that?
💰 & half 💰
Men have been cutting perfect grades without a tilt bucket for 50+ years. Takes 2 minutes to level a starting spot.
Technology my buddy don't be afraid of it
How much did you charge for this job?
I don't charge nothing on RUclips

Kubota 121

Just don’t put bridge inspector on the bug shield of the Kw like the logging guy from Grafton did years ago
