Please give every one of Liko and Roy's pokemon a fleshed out personality. I really feel they're often overlooked for getting personalities and even character arcs. This is why Ash's alola team is my favorite.
People think too much about this. Even if the new series is hated and/or dropped by many, 5 years later, you will see the kids who grew with that series praising it. That's what happened with many generational anime, and that even happened with the Black and White series. If they drop, they drop. 3-5 years old children are the main targets, and I doubt they care much about Ash.
Since Beyblade Burst had Valt (the first Beyblade Burst protagonist) stay for two seasons, which is double the other protags, then if Pokemon was inspired, Liko/Riko would stay for 13 years, half of Ash's run.
I work at a school, so snow days are good and bad for me. But, if the kids are too excited about a snow day, and it misses us so we have school as normal, I'm okay with it. As long as we're all safe wherever we are. Nimona- I had a mental image of fanfic AU, where she'd meet Brock and Croagunk, and Croagunk would have to use poison jab on her when she starts to talk about battles the way Brock talks about/ to pretty girls.
This is the first champion league podcast I listened to and I can't lie when I say Ioved it Really fun to listen to while completing the pokemon emerald pokedex 😅
I actually do want Liko and/or Roy to be a protagonist for the next 25 years (12 minimum) is because I loved the anticipation of where was Ash going to finish in the leagues. One time he finishes Top 16 another time Top 8, Top 4 then regresses to Top 8. It's something I really want for our new protagonists, the mystery of how far they'll go in a tournament.
I don't want Riko to be a generation only protagonist like in the manga at all. Something that ruined the digimon and yugi-oh animes is the fact that they change the protagonists every single time. You can say whatever you want about the pokemon anime but compared to any protagonist from digimon and yugi-oh people still cared about Ash far more than any of those generational protagonist that those other series had.

As Yugioh never kept the same protagonist (they got a new one every series), Yugioh anime content has properly dried up to the point where the only person properly doing it is Yugioh Everything. The rest of the Yugioh anime content that exists is mainly one-off passion projects done by people about their favourite series, as a consequence nothing past the first three series gets a look in (outside of it being described in various synonyms for unwatcheable trash). i very much hope that the Pokemon anime does not go the same way, but it could happen with time. I have the slightest hope of Liko and Roy BOTH having the dream of being the best Pokémon Master. Every other Pokémon profession in the anime are either too boring or too used already. So I hope that they have the same goal and they do it in different ways while traveling together🤓
Just make one of their dreams to be like a gym leader or something. Or introduce like a regional doubles championships alongside normal league and have them aim for that. I would love more doubles in the anime

In defense of journeys and filler as a whole what do you expect Pokémon isn’t a story based show and instead has an overarching plot of trying to be a Pokémon master or win the Pokémon league/ defeat Leon so since the show is more episodic than anything it makes sense to have filler and the breaks are excusable due to ash vs Leon being amazing also Pokémon has had filler in every show including alola which I felt had the most filler and x and y which I feel is a bit overhyped.

Ash is not main protagonist anymore. Of course, Ash may have some spotlight in the future anime. However, I am not sure the new generation will have less and less memory on him since Liko would be their childhood memories.
