@spydaman376 pointless stuff. They couldn't play pro basketball to save their lives. Deion used to participate in the all star weekend stuff. No. Iverson was a top qb in high school. Plenty of nba guys played multiple sports. You just have to dedicate yourself earlier to basketball because it's that much harder to make it than any other sport. And getting seriously injured playing other sports can set dudes do far back that it can ruin their hopes of making it
I see football players doing front and back flips with pads on. They different.
Most basketball players don’t know how to run 😂😂😂
Yeah but these nba players 😂
bro theres like 500 players in the NBA whereas NFL has 1700. its much harder to go pro in, most of em gotta be top tier athletes to even make it

Allen Iverson won a state championship as a QB and was ranked higher than Peyton Manning coming out of high school
A lot of the NBA players saying they could be kicker/punter, WR or TE and make a mediocre play like make a catch next to the sideline or just kick a ball. Like NFL players couldn’t get a rebound, set a screen or pass the ball to 40% shooter and get an assist. 😂 come on man
This the thing... you mentioned nothing about the defensive part of basketball. You can't play 1 side of the ball or one aspect of the game like football. Nfl players also aren't that tall. They be pg size in height. What's considered a big wr or te is merely a stockier, slow guard in the nba. They wouldn't be forwards and centers like you thinking. They getting cooked
A big wr is 6'2 215... that's steph curry size without the skills and quickness or perfection of the craft...
@@andreearl3258 I agree and let’s be real defense is asking a lot in today’s nba but there’s a reason they chose their sports. If a 6’10 guy could work at receiver we would have seen it. What’s the argument though? Is it can they make a play or two? Then ya but if it’s about making a career…that’s like saying Steph will be a pro golfer.
@Fennsjamin you do realize how many football players get a lot smaller once they retire right? They purposely have diets to keep weight on. It would be the same for anybody. They would do the same thing. So not all would have to play wr. Some could certainly play safety and de. Big men could play o line. They have been very tall successful football players. But look up joe Thomas now vs playing days for example. Completely different dude... there are certainly athletes that could be pro golfers too. Sports is about time practicing and perfecting a craft. Certain people have a natural knack at things that it they focus fully on it they could certainly do it. But now you exaggerating going to golf with golf has zero to do with athleticism. And the key component of the entire argument. How the athleticism can translate. Yall love making things no longer stay within context
@Fennsjamin and only a certain percentage of nba players are 6'10. Huge majority are around 6'4-6'5. And between 215-265 lbs. Plenty of wr, te, lb, de, and s are in that range without being as athletic. Let's not exaggerate to have a point.
Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Julius Peppers, Davante Adams, Tee Higgins and Jimmy Graham to name a few guys who wanted to play basketball but weren’t good enough so they committed to football full time. Shows the skill difference between the sports. However, the consistent physicality in football is much higher than basketball. So it’s a tossup until someone defines in terms what “better athlete” means.
Tony Gonzalez & gates weren’t even athletic in football, they just had great hands. But don’t say they weren’t good enough for bball they just loved football more
Athleticism is speed strength & explosiveness. No nba player running a 4.4 or better laser timed 40 benching 225 for reps & jumping 40+ from a standstill
Nate Robinson was better at football won the dunk contest
@@mikeadams-dh2ol he wasn’t better at football look at his college football stats vs his college basketball stats. He was a football type of athlete tho

The elite of the elites in each sport would be successful in any sport they played because of their top tier athleticism. The vast majority of each league however, would not be great in other sports at a professional level due to various reasons (basketball players lacking size, strength, horizontal explosiveness and toughness - football players lacking height and elite basketball skill). Antman, LBJ, Russ etc would be great at football. But Austin Rivers and Jeff Teague likely wouldn’t make it through training camp. DK Metcalf, Calvin Johnson, Terrell Owens, Deion Sanders etc. would be great at basketball, but a back up linebacker likely wouldn’t make the cut.

Here's what you do:
35 each from the NBA & NFL.
10 teams.
Teams of 7.
You make it a pick-up league where captains pick whoever they want, teams can be any mix of players.
Basketball games can either have real refs, or make it street ball.
NFL can potentially have a designated QB playing for both teams (different QB different weeks) or teams provide their own from players selected. Teams wear pads.
What is a NBA player gonna do when Derwin James meets them in the A gap

Randy Moss was the coldest football player to hoop. He played with Jason Williams lol
What position is any NBA player playing in the NFL?? The only positions they really could play is TE and WR and they aren’t getting off press coverage and damn sure not in line blocking

Cooper Dejean drafted by the Eagles basketball mixtape is crazy
So is tee higgins justyn ross Keon Coleman & plenty other players i dont feel like naming
Most NBA players mostly only play Tight end or Reciever. Any other position requires a different type of physical mentality that i dont feel most basketball players have. And sometimes being too tall hurts tall people in football. Like can i see a basketball player catching post fades. But are they lining up in Oklahoma drill. Can they take the physical toll it takes to actually play
Rico Gathers played college basketball and made it to the NFL as a linebacker for the Cowboys.

Aye JT, can you name anyone in the league who is meeting Ray Lewis in the gap? 😂😂😂😂
Well he clarified everything about this debate at the end bc he tlkn bout non contact w/o pads on
NBA players never talk about actually being hit by someone who's 6'3 235 running 16+ mph trying to take your head off, they always talk like they won't ever get tackled or something. The hits are less crazy now but I bet no NBA players would want to play in the NFL in the 80s and 90s.
I think that nba players could more easily transition to the nfl, than nfl to NBA. Shooting and dribbling have to be elite level to succeed
The NFL only argument is physicality 🤣
Its only height... nba players are not faster quicker or stronger... i remember back in high school everyone was dunking and everyone was like 5 7 to 511... basketball players just stay in that gym with the ac.. its real in 90 degree humidity and Oklahoma drills
Shoutout to Mo Ali Cox getting love! Go Rams
Simple if we took the 30 most athletic players from each sport and placed through a combine for both sports which side would post the better numbers.
Doesn’t matter. Kd couldn’t bench 135 lb is none of the best athletes in the nba. Tom Brady ran the worst 40 anyone has ever seen and is one of the greatest football players of all time.
Come on now, football players are faster, stronger, and more explosive on average. There’s no debate. Basketball is just a more technical sport generally speaking, but on the topic of pure athleticism, not even a convo.
That boy said strong is a negative in basketball lol than I look at Zion, lebron, even ant 🐜 being strong get you buckets too! 😂

It's the weekend it's enough of ya get a football game cracking NFL vs NBA set it up
Real tough, aggressive alpha men play football
Tough and aggressive, sure I'll give you that. Alpha, no. The vast majority of football players are not alpha males. Alpha males do not accept being barked at and talked down to the way most football players get barked at by their coaches and superiors. And alpha males do not lack self control the way so many football players have shown to lack self control. That's like calling people in prison alpha males

Deandre Hopkins can really hoop. He has a burner.
The only thing most nba players have over nfl players athletically is vertical jumping. As far as speed strength power I don’t think it’s close. The average nfl player is a dawg in the weight room some of the nba players don’t even lift. Just imagine one of them trying to tackle Derrick Henry or Nick Chubb. It probably wouldn’t end well. It’s also easy to catch a pass against air add the certainty of getting hit and things change. They have to stop the madness

Nfl vs Nba deestroying video make it happen!
all it takes is one hit from a real safety or LB and all these basketball players will realize they played football with children, not with NFL athletes. The NBA has a height requirement tbh, if you're under 6'6" you have to be top 5 at your position in at least one aspect of the game to be considered good or great. Now its getting to the point that even if you are just 7 feet tall you still have to have legit skills or you will get cooked. In the NFL you genuinely have to be a freak athlete at 99% of the positions along with memorizing a crazy amount of information depending on your position and talent level just to even compete. Not a single NBA player in todays game would stop TJ Watt from getting a sack. Not a single player in the NBA is covering a number 1 receiver. They are professionals at their own respective sports for a reason. This would be like a Kickboxer saying "the best kickboxers in the world could definitely move to boxing but boxers wouldn't be able to transfer to kickboxing" when the reality is that NEITHER would be great at the eithers sport without years of training in those rules and specific situations.
There are maybe a total of 10 to 15 NBA players who can actually play a season and not be hurt the rest are injury prone
I can get off the couch and walk right into the NFL 🤷🏽♂️

NBA players are the better athletes. However, I don’t think you can throw either player in the other sport professionally and they be good or even serviceable. I do think an NFL player would have a higher chance at surviving a full game in the NBA
