  • Jeff Teague and the Club 520 guys react to Tom Brady’s Roast on Netflix, and debate whether some jokes were taken too far regarding Aaron Hernandez and Robert Kraft. Jeff then takes his stance on the debate on whether NBA players can play in the NFL, and claims that basketball players are better athletes than football players, and some could definitely play in the NFL.

    00:00 - Tom Brady roast reaction

    A lot of the NBA players saying they could be kicker/punter, WR or TE and make a mediocre play like make a catch next to the sideline or just kick a ball. Like NFL players couldn’t get a rebound, set a screen or pass the ball to 40% shooter and get an assist. 😂 come on man

    • @andreearl3258
      @andreearl3258 25 дней назад

      This the thing... you mentioned nothing about the defensive part of basketball. You can't play 1 side of the ball or one aspect of the game like football. Nfl players also aren't that tall. They be pg size in height. What's considered a big wr or te is merely a stockier, slow guard in the nba. They wouldn't be forwards and centers like you thinking. They getting cooked

    • @andreearl3258
      @andreearl3258 25 дней назад

      A big wr is 6'2 215... that's steph curry size without the skills and quickness or perfection of the craft...

    • @Fennsjamin
      @Fennsjamin 25 дней назад

      @@andreearl3258 I agree and let’s be real defense is asking a lot in today’s nba but there’s a reason they chose their sports. If a 6’10 guy could work at receiver we would have seen it. What’s the argument though? Is it can they make a play or two? Then ya but if it’s about making a career…that’s like saying Steph will be a pro golfer.

    • @andreearl3258
      @andreearl3258 23 дня назад

      @Fennsjamin you do realize how many football players get a lot smaller once they retire right? They purposely have diets to keep weight on. It would be the same for anybody. They would do the same thing. So not all would have to play wr. Some could certainly play safety and de. Big men could play o line. They have been very tall successful football players. But look up joe Thomas now vs playing days for example. Completely different dude... there are certainly athletes that could be pro golfers too. Sports is about time practicing and perfecting a craft. Certain people have a natural knack at things that it they focus fully on it they could certainly do it. But now you exaggerating going to golf with golf has zero to do with athleticism. And the key component of the entire argument. How the athleticism can translate. Yall love making things no longer stay within context

    • @andreearl3258
      @andreearl3258 23 дня назад

      @Fennsjamin and only a certain percentage of nba players are 6'10. Huge majority are around 6'4-6'5. And between 215-265 lbs. Plenty of wr, te, lb, de, and s are in that range without being as athletic. Let's not exaggerate to have a point.

    Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Julius Peppers, Davante Adams, Tee Higgins and Jimmy Graham to name a few guys who wanted to play basketball but weren’t good enough so they committed to football full time. Shows the skill difference between the sports. However, the consistent physicality in football is much higher than basketball. The elite of the elites in each sport would be successful in any sport they played because of their top tier athleticism. The vast majority of each league however, would not be great in other sports at a professional level due to various reasons (basketball players lacking size, strength, horizontal explosiveness and toughness - football players lacking height and elite basketball skill). Antman, LBJ, Russ etc would be great at football. But Austin Rivers and Jeff Teague likely wouldn’t make it through training camp. DK Metcalf, Calvin Johnson, Terrell Owens, Deion Sanders etc. would be great at basketball, but a back up linebacker likely wouldn’t make the cut.

    You make it a pick-up league where captains pick whoever they want, teams can be any mix of players.

    all it takes is one hit from a real safety or LB and all these basketball players will realize they played football with children, not with NFL athletes. The NBA has a height requirement tbh, if you're under 6'6" you have to be top 5 at your position in at least one aspect of the game to be considered good or great. Now its getting to the point that even if you are just 7 feet tall you still have to have legit skills or you will get cooked. In the NFL you genuinely have to be a freak athlete at 99% of the positions along with memorizing a crazy amount of information depending on your position and talent level just to even compete. Not a single NBA player in todays game would stop TJ Watt from getting a sack. Not a single player in the NBA is covering a number 1 receiver. They are professionals at their own respective sports for a reason. This would be like a Kickboxer saying "the best kickboxers in the world could definitely move to boxing but boxers wouldn't be able to transfer to kickboxing" when the reality is that NEITHER would be great at the eithers sport without years of training in those rules and specific situations.
