One of the few times Beethoven successfully wrote a tune! 😂🤣

Oh come on, what about 'Ode to Joy' , the Pathetique sonata etc.

@@VAMR-vc7xg "Ode to Joy" is literally just a 5-finger pattern starting on the 3rd degree. Yes, it's eminently singable (which is a benefit), but as a tune . . . eh 😏
The 1st mvmt of the Pathetique is not bad. Again, it has the primary feature of most Beethoven melodies: it simply outlines the harmony and alternates between chord tones.
Don't misunderstand - I'm not trying to glibly dismiss Beethoven. He was obviously a towering giant of Western music and perhaps the premier expositor of the sonata-allegro form.
      But as a tunesmith 👎 😂

@@Archimusik I'[m not misunderstanding you, as you obviously know much about music and have a sense of humour too. Yes, Ode to Joy is very conjunct, like an anthem. But...OK, he admitted himself he was not very good at writing for the human voice. However, the Prisoners Chorus from Fidelio; the slow movement from his fifth piano concerto; violin concerto.

@@Archimusik Also, his two violin romances. (You can tell I am a violinist).
