The device in the kitchen is called a surger and its part of a set to collect milk from cows. It also looks like there was a food cellar off the kitchen. There were probably more canned/preserved veggies like the jar you found down there.
Yasmeen Hashmi, we called that device a milking machine, that you hooked tubes onto the top of the milking machine ,and the other end hooked up to the cows milk source lol (utters)😆👍...
It makes me laugh when you pick up something like that iron & say, 'this is really old school', & I think 'thats not that old school, we had one like that when I was a teenager'. I forget I am 59. I guess that makes me really 'old school'. It dosen't take long, before you know it you will be 'old school' too.
Ahaha. That's funny. Because when I saw the TV, I said to myself "that's not really 'THAT' old", and I thought to myself, I'm 44 years old, it's old to them. Haha.
Beautiful old farm men. Loved the beds! You couldn’t buy them today, and to have them made would cost an absolute fortune. The design of them was really special. Thank you so much for the close ups of them and the smaller items left behind. The old oil lamps were also great to see. I always look forward to your videos. Take care. See you both soon.
When I look at these videos I always think the people who lived in the homes led very simple life. Most of the furnishings and fitting look as if they have been there since the house was built.Excelent video.👍🇬🇧
That bed is amazing! I love it! We would kill to have that furniture here in the states! Wonderful adventure! So sad that these homes and artifacts are left to rot!
I have watch alot of video's but you have such compassion for the homes and the belongings left behind. I love to watch the way you are so passionate about your exploding of homes.
I think the wooden trays were for packing soft fruit for sale. They are like the tomato trays that came to our shop and they stack easily for transport. Hence the long legs at the corners. When unstacked they were ideal for display.
I really love your videos you are so sweet and compassionate. We lived in Belgium for 4 years while my husband was in the US army and we enjoyed it. Thank you for all the videos
Hi Lesley and Jordy, a new video from bros of decay is always t h e weekly highlight. Without having yet seen it, I already hit the thumb-up button. Thank you so much. Your videos are always of such a high quality, and I like your comments as well as the beautiful background music. Peace and blessings to you! Kindest regards from Switzerland. Now - what shall I say? - 10 minutes ago I finally watched the whole video. - Great, as always, when you upload a new video! - It was again like seeing a time capsule. One room, you showed us, had beautiful pure art deco furniture at its best. That's the period between 1915-1940 (1939) - just closely after the art nouveau period. I wish you a safe and inspiring trip to Japan, as I heard, that you are now leaving quite soon to the far east.
What a Great Place Guys and Thank You So Much!!! The large stainless steel container in the kitchen was an automatic Miller run by air presser. These buildings are hopefully going to be restored one day, so beautiful! Love, Light and Peace! DaveyJO in Pa.
Another gem. Lesley and Jordy you never fail to impress. Love, Love, Love this one. So many beautiful pieces of furniture. My first thought for the “unusual” piece in the kitchen was that it was part of a milk separator. It’s different from any I’ve seen here in the USA though. Could be wrong. I loved how large most of the rooms are. So sad it has been left to decay. Keep up the search and be safe. SE Kansas, USA.
I love your videos so much history behind each one and you narrate them so well. It makes me sad that so many people abandoned their homes for many different reasons. The cost of maintaining these old places would be so expensive, it’s sad so many of the valuable antiques and furnishings are left to ruin and some people wish to destroy and ransack these places. It’s like taking a trip into the past and each one has a different story to tell. Thanks so much for exploring these wonderful places I find it fascinating. Linda from N.M. USA
I agree, animals are special beings and they are our companions on this earth. The images of Jesus really spoke to my heart. As always, great content.🙏👌🌼
It is always a pleasure to follow you througth the times in the places you visit. You have such a decent way of showing these abanded places, and great respect for the homes, that once was other peoples lives. Thank you for doing these journeys a fantastic timetravel for us watching you......
What a beautiful place. You two are amazing. You show so much interest, reverence and appreciation for the decade places you explore. Its so refreshing to see that. You are the best of the best in abandoned exploration. Please keep up your quality exploration. Other explorers could learn from you two but I don't think they could copy your "from the heart" appreciation and reverence for what you do.
Very beautiful farmhouse . Many unique items. The beds and large chests were amazing. I’m always fascinated by the pretty wallpaper and floor covering. Nice property. Thank you! 🦋
What is there to say, but Leslie, you and Jordy have done it again? I can always count on your videos having much thought and caring put into them, balancing what you want to display to us, with what we the viewers want to see. We Appreciate You and the Inspiration you bring to our lives. The two of you work so well together, with Leslie being more comfortable in front of the camera and your skills with the camera are quite competent, improving with every vid, Jordy. Safe Travels and God Speed.
OH! All those BEAUTIFUL oak beds...hand carved! Such beauty and craftsmanship! So sad to see it just sitting there decaying. That place was certainly built to last! Thanks for the great explore!
I love the Belgium Lace doilies under the glass that covers the center of the dining table. Your stories and enthusiasm are unique. Thanks for the video. ☺️
So beautiful I get so excited watching your videos.Listening to the joy in your voice and the compassion and respect for all this places makes me so happy. Thanx for the experience 🏵💖
Quite a bit of workmanship in the house! Some of the furniture is very valuable. The wood furniture is outstanding! I think it is a old style humidifier to keep moisture in the air because someone had breathing or lung problems. Magnificent bed! The other bed is even more outstanding as the first one! All the beds blow me away! The trunks are worth some very good money! People love to have one or two in their living room for decoration. Another killer old bed! WOW!
You know, I think you may have something there about a humidifier! It's been clarified that it's part of a milking machine, but nowhere was there any other sign of there being cows.. just horses. Also since it was inside, it's completely possible that they had repurposed it to be a stove-top humidifier. I like it! (we're probably wrong, but that's part of the fun)
Hello Lesley and Jordy! Very beautiful place full of nice wood furniture and many pictures of the family. In the past The farm was very productive because they had nice items. But they were worked hard there only it is sad now abandoned the farm . Thank you for sharing and please take care of yourselves. 👋🇺🇸😘👍🙏😇 💖 Bakersfield CA.
Thanks for sharing, absolutely beautiful. Especially the beds. If I’m not mistaken the room with the ship in it, that bed looked like a quarter bed. A quarter bed as my dad called it was bigger than a twin but smaller than a full size bed. My great grandmother had one and a Victorian style bed that came from England they were very beautiful. Wow wow .. i loved this place its so beautiful and i bet it was when it was lived in and loved .. you are so kind hearted Leslie and Jordy when you said its how animals should be treated it was so beautiful to say Leslie .. god bless you x
I love the living dining room with the matching furniture where the family and friends would spend their time together. Sad to see it die, thanks it’s beautiful and be safe!
Love this place. Hope someone does too and renovates, brings it up to code. Keeps the items found in the home in historic safe storage and brings new life to this wonderful place. Thank you for the tour,
Hi Lesley and Jordy! Thank you for this video of the 1600's farm. It is fantastic. Imagine living back in that time and place! Also, the antique furniture is amazing. Thanks for another great video.
Loved the tile around that first fireplace. The blue and black tile around the other fireplace is awesome too. Those bed frames are really nice. That one bed frame is really really pretty and the wall paper is too. That last bedroom with the beautiful bed may have been a helpers room. this was one great find. loved it. I would love to have half of those stacks of pallets in that barn. thank you.
Thank you so much for showing us this farm house. Great vid and wonderful house. Again your voice is so soothing, you could read books for audio books. Those beds in that house are amazing. Thank you so much for bringing us along.
This is really great. You remind me of myself when I was young going through abandoned places and filming them. They're all on VHS, and who knows where those tapes ended up? But you sure brought back some memories for me and I thank you for showing me this amazing abandoned old place.
Beautiful, I wish you would film more of the architecture - like the basement it had those rounded entrances that I've never seen in America. Such history to be witnessing, thank you!
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 I would like to say that the both of you work well together and have made a video that is definitely worth a look! The host who is talking you are a handsome man who is soft spoken and easy to listen to! The young man who is doing the visual with the 📷 camera is also taking good video and also taking the time to show us around inside this home. I have liked and subscribed so I shall look forward to seeing your next video and it's contents! Thank-you for the inside look at an abandoned mansion on the other side of the world.
I have enjoyed watching your videos. I'm always surprised that you find these abandoned homes with everything in it . When I watch videos of abandoned places in the United States everything is destroyed. What a shame. Great work that you both do!!!
wuderful, thank you, we had those televisions here in Mexico, very popular brand. So many untouched homes in Belgium, good ness, such honest people, if I spoke the language I would have moved there years ago. lol and brought tortillas with me of course to make the folks Tacos. jejeje
So interesting! Whenever I look at these places, I wonder what made people leave everything, their personal belongings behind. I think about what life was like all those years ago. Really amazing! Thank you guys!
I love this place! I see it more of a horse ranch than a farm, because the stables make it seem that was the main focus, but perhaps there were orchards also on the property we didn't see, because of the stacks of fruit pallets (I don't know what the proper name for them is) The stained glass of the horse also supports the impression. The workmanship on the beds.. incredible! They must weigh a ton. Must have been quite an effort to get them there, back in the day. (and yay for 100k, guys!!)
Maybe a pressure cooker in the kitchen? Beautiful home and furniture!! I love the house and furniture. Has some pretty wallpaper in the rooms. The barn was amazing. Thank you boys for sharing. Love watching you all. Your biggest fan in N Texas, USA.
This is a beautiful place ..I loved the big sofa in the living room and those beds were gorgeous ..really for it’s age it is in good condition ,modern houses would not survive that long..Those things in the last shed were crates that produce like cabbages, lettuce, tomatoes etc would have been packed into for delivery ..years ago greengrocers would return them to the suppliers for re-use ..When they were full they stacked tidily on top of each other ..This was a real treasure loved this one boys ?.Thank You 😀
He always lights up when his videos. I can appreciate that very much, it also gets me excited for him.what he does is my dream if I were able. rock on my friend, rock on!!!!
So it was to produce steam to help with respiratory illnesses. I expect they would also add herbs such as chamomile to soothe the tissues, reduce inflammation & ease the breathing.
You have such passion....and compassion for days gone by. My thanks to you.
The device in the kitchen is called a surger and its part of a set to collect milk from cows. It also looks like there was a food cellar off the kitchen. There were probably more canned/preserved veggies like the jar you found down there.
Thank you for your information!!
Thank you, Yasmeen! 🌸
I thought it was a weird old tea kettle for whatever reason lol
Yasmeen Hashmi we noticed that to
Yasmeen Hashmi, we called that device a milking machine, that you hooked tubes onto the top of the milking machine ,and the other end hooked up to the cows milk source lol (utters)😆👍...
It makes me laugh when you pick up something like that iron & say, 'this is really old school', & I think 'thats not that old school, we had one like that when I was a teenager'. I forget I am 59. That's very true : )
So true. One video he said look at this ancient bike & I remember bikes like that when I was a kid. Yikes!
Ahaha. That's funny. Because when I saw the TV, I said to myself "that's not really 'THAT' old", and I thought to myself, I'm 44 years old, it's old to them. Haha.

Thought the same
That is a beautiful barn. Yes, that's the best way - a farmer caring for his animals. Thank You for sharing a very special time
I loved what he said ". . this is how it should be and not in a slaughter house. . ."
Can’t imagine living in a 16th century house. Beautiful barns and housing for livestock.
Lovely video. Thank you!
Beautiful and ornate sleigh beds.
Reminded me of Duncan-Fife beds. The guys from "Antique Roadshow" would be a real help on some of these marvelous antique pieces.
I absolutely love your videos. I appreciate the stories of the people you share of these homes. It makes it so much more personal.
This comment is for your Mother - you did a fine job with the extraordinary men you raised ! Their “ heart “ is amazing 🤗❤️😊
Such a great find. I actually gasped at a few of the beautiful pieces left behind
Interesting house. Loved all the old furniture. What a surprise to see two more bedrooms in the attic.
I bet the attic bedrooms were for the servants.
Possibly or maybe migrant workers or even maybe cousins who came to help with the harvest.
So beautiful. Thank you Leslie and Jordy for taking me along to the wonderful places that I would never see in my lifetime personally. Stay safe.
I have watch alot of video's but you have such compassion for the homes and the belongings left behind. I love to watch the way you are so passionate about your exploding of homes.
You are so kind and respectful of these awesome places and what they hold.I truly enjoy your videos!
That was a great explore. I love the beds, couch, and wallpaper. Thanks for bringing us along!
"Come on, my boy" - you two are so adorable :D
Those beds are amazing ! I would love to have some like them :)))
The beds now are made in China and breakdown very easily.
@@davidbrown8303
Everything is made in China and it's all junk.
You and me both! :-) Those beds are gorgeous! :-D
Oh my goodness, this place is amazing. The ceilings are so different, love the old beds.
I think the wooden trays were for packing soft fruit for sale. They are like the tomato trays that came to our shop and they stack easily for transport. Hence the long legs at the corners. When unstacked they were ideal for display.
Maybe also!
Neat! I am also looking to see if anyone recognised that strange huge kettle type contraption. 🌸
Welp, the very next comment tells us what it is!
I really love your videos you are so sweet and compassionate. We lived in Belgium for 4 years while my husband was in the US army and we enjoyed it. Thank you for all the videos

When you say a miller do you mean that it was a device for milling things, grinding them up? Would it have been used for grains, or nuts, or?
I love the way Leslie throws us all a kiss at the end of the videos!
Love their vids!

Beautiful! You can just see the couple going about their day to say chores....the memories there shakes me.
Thank you guys. Love it. It was sad that the wedding pictures were still on the mantle. Beautiful dinning room. Loved the wallpaper.
Very beautiful and so sweet how you are so careful with their possessions . Thank you
Touches me how careful and respectful they always are.
Beautiful old house. And those wooden beds!!! Oh my goodness!!!
Another lovely video. Thanks guys!

Don't forget the floors in a home of this age. The tile work on the main floor is a significant part of the architecture and artistry of this period.
OH! All those BEAUTIFUL oak beds...hand carved! Such beauty and craftsmanship! So sad to see it just sitting there decaying. That place was certainly built to last! Thanks for the great explore!
I am a huge barn person! Thank you for sharing that my favorite part. Loving you guys! Still binge watching its day 2 now. I will get fought up!
Awesome Shawna Love to hear stuff like this :D
I love the Belgium Lace doilies under the glass that covers the center of the dining table. Your stories and enthusiasm are unique. Thanks for the video. ☺️

Why do some of these homes look as though they are dusted? I still can’t get over the wooden beds left behind. Absolutely love all of your videos!!
I can see it now.
Leslie: "Jesus Christ--"
Jordy: "Don't take his name in vain!"
Leslie: "No--it's a painting of Jesus."

Beautiful stained glass. There are several beautiful pieces of furniture. As always thank you for sharing.

Hi Lesley and Jordy! Thank you for this video of the 1600's farm. It is fantastic. Imagine living back in that time and place! Also, the antique furniture is amazing. Thanks for another great video.
