Dandy is a guy who's worthless most of the time, but when it really matter he can do incredible things.
He is like gintoki but he is a dandy, in space.
Bruh he's literally the focal point for every alternate universe. He was never worthless, he just wants to do his own thing. Nothing wrong with that as long as you step up when needed, which Dandy absolutely does.
This episode hit the feels. God, I love this anime. So underrated.
I see it more as esoteric than underrated
Dandy is all of us - at the end of the day he's looking out for number 1, but that never stops him from doing the right thing.
NGL almost every ep is fan service to me like my gosh dude I might be overreacting but Damn I love it to absolute bits. It’s all lovingly made. Entertaining us to the best of its ability pulling us in. Investing us with the characters, the story and plot overall. What I’m trying to say is that this is my idea of a good anime for anyone. Anyone and everyone can get invested. It’s just that the cultured get bonus giggles.

Space Dandy, one of the few shows that's a 10/10 for me.
To me, this episode is what the entire show should have been. dont get me wrong, i loved the entire thing. but this single episode just blew the rest out of the window. only other one that got close to this would be episode 8 Season 2.

that's what makes the show so great, each episode is a different dish. some one might say the same thing you did, but for another episode. mine was, A World With No Sadness, shes what a trip.
this show is the definition of rollar coaster of emotions it is so random and pretty funny but there are moments that make you very emotional it goes through so much in just 26 episodes
@NotEnoughSound the crazy thing about that formula though is it captures that feeling of back in the day, never being able to see a show in from beginning to end. Space Dandy has this feeling of always missing the previous episode. Still makes me crave more 10 years later.

Soo many bright and colourful stars out there. If I had one wish, it would be to eliminate light pollution so that we can see the stars in the cities. And also carbon emissions, cause you know, global warming and all that.
Tbh, and not only referring on this epispde, there are things called fanservice, which are usually reaching the extreme obscene or stimulating, but when Watanabe uses them most of the time it really feels like it's something to move the characters forward, not us as an audience. It is to show us what Dandy or Meow are looking at, what they think of, what are their reactions... bu he doesn't include eroticism 'for the fans' really. There are bits that are fanservice, yes... but I feel like they're throwing it like it's whatever in the comments, calling every time there's something barely erotic-like 'fanservice'.
Eroticidm can be a resource for someone else than the audience, and Watanabe 90% of the time uses it as plot device.
That being said... I loved this clip
