  • In another episode of Heal My People TV 📺 my guest is Dominick Thompson. Dominick has been vegan for over two decades and his transition to a plant-based lifestyle was sparked by his incarceration. So we take a deep dive into exploring how “Food Creates Our MOOD” detailing how going vegan while in prison changed his perspective on life. We also explore surviving gang culture and violence growing up in Chicago, how as a body-builder he builds muscle with plants, survivors guilt, and more.

Best answer i've heard from anyone so far on 'if you ruled the world how would you heal our people'? Grace, compassion, love, intelligence, humility, spirit, power, truth, wisdom, care!!! This is a movement! Universal healing, access to the divinity we are supposed to embody. Endless blessings and protection to you both.

We need more T-shirts, Dr. Bobby. I'm thinking, "Gotcha, Gotcha", "Indeed, Indeed", "Real Recognizes Real", and maybe "Life Is My Guru." Why aren't there t-shirts on your website with these sayings? Hmm? I'm sure some of your other fans agree we need these shirts, maybe a cup. Just saying.

Thank you for continuing to model what intersectional community is!!! There's a depth of understanding and care growing here in your community that the white community--of which i'm apart--can really learn so much from. White folks in general still don't really have community; they have proximity, identity, competition, judgement and exclusion. We can appropriate all the aspects of other communities and try and profit off that wisdom, but that's just another process that renders life lifeless. I am committed to life-long somatic abolitionism to end white supremacy, and nourishing myself to be able to show up in a way that can try and build community together. Blessings!!

Similar experience eating meat as a child...my brother described what chittlins were. For about two years, every piece of meat on my plate turned into me pulling every piece of connective tissue, eyeballing it, and continually asking, "Are these the intestines?" "What about this?" (even chicken legs) It was soooo annoying for everybody and they were tired of me "wasting."🤭 This interview is very important as it encourages transforming one's mind, body and spirit. You overcame the negative impacts of our communities and you're strong examples of perseverance. I'm proud of both of you.☀️

To listen to this video, very insightful. The idea of food building and how it can build us up spiritual. Imagine that.
We understand that notion, especially for those who Fast to gain a spiritual connection with GOD. But yet and still the idea of food building and healing you spiritually is still somewhat eye opening. Until this video. Ah-ha moment, now I the reason why I don't allow things I use to allow. I am intentional about what I eat and how I care for myself. So now in the interim I don't have the heart, spirit, or mental capacity to allow foolishness anymore.

Thank you for introducing us to living examples and reminders, including you, of how change and growth is limitless. I was floored by his "if you ruled the world answer" starting with "they would kill me" which was pretty accurate. Your channel taught me so much and, more importantly, caused me to make lifestyle changes I never thought I would make. I.e. with morning smoothies, lunchtime kale carrot juice, and dinner salads with chicpeas, black beans, arugula, spinach, broccoli, etc., do I really need the salmon on top for the protein? No. You can listen to something 10 times, but it may be the 11th time that you actually hear it.

I was gravely disappointed and saddened to have Mike Tyson praised as an example of kindness. You two in one breath rightly criticize those that are compassionate to animals and overlook cruelty to people. And in the next breath you are those people. Black culture is rich with excellence. Don't lift up a heavyweight champion boxer that jovially talked about punching his wife as an example of kindness. Don't bring forward a convicted rapist as a paragon of a gentle giant.
