Maybe because they actually speak the same language??? Main language in Scotland and Ireland is english, so yeah. Obviously not trying to justify people mocking asian accents, but I'm trying to put a different perspective, it's like a Latin American person praising a Spanish person's accent, both of them speak the same language. To make a better comparison you should see if white people praise accents coming from a non-native english speaker (I'm sure they do if they're white i.e Italians). But yeah I see your point, some white people mock non-whites when they speak their language, that is the sad truth, however it is also sad to be seeking praise from the whities or crying when we don't get it.
