I find it ironic that a guy named Pessimism is such a positive person. Seems like a great person!
About as ironic as having a Speedrunner named Carcinogen whose main series to play is about a deadly viral outbreak and bio-terrorism on the couch for a charity event about preventing cancer.
Metalheads are some of the nicest people. It's just one of those ironic things.

@@ectothermic to the point. You are right. 1 clear example he lost focus when he forgot the wooden shield which cost him 1 minute and risking a zombie by passing him 2 more times. He was not enough paying attention to his run. Just to be clear, not trying to bad talk the runner, he did great but other runners need to focus on more fast paced games.

David Carper This meme pisses me off. You should know something: if Pessimism didn’t want me on his couch the last two runs, he could have told me to fuck off any time, but I was invited back every time because we’re friends and he wanted me to commentate with him. It’s honestly amazing that I have to tell people this. idk where you people get the idea that we’re fighting over each other and that I never shut up, but CVX and RE0 are terrible games to commentate because nothing goes correctly as one is supposed to demonstrate. This time we actually rehearsed everything we were going to talk about because I WANTED him to talk more. My entire role was to help elaborate, as it has been. I literally made a career out of speedruns and commentary full time but he’s better at REmaster speedruns than me so I wanted him to take the lead so people like you would quit making the comments section about painting me to be the bad guy and he could get the recognition he deserves.

tbh i really like you not shutting up(sounds aggressive this way but believe me its not in a bad way) since sometimes pessi can be really focus you can give us good information on whats going on, and when he cant talk you can give us information on what´s going on, so yeah i like pessimism running with you on the couch talking or you running talking about whats going on!
Honestly I like what carcinogen does on this one, he fills up people what pessimism is doing when he's focused on what he's running. I dunno why some don't like getting rilled up with information which is critical in the game.

BTW, for anyone curious, Rebecca(/RebeccaRE) (the one who comes in from off camera) is actually a Chilean RE runner, with a ton of records in those games.
So, I don't think English is her first language, which is probably a big part of why she doesn't say much.
Appalled to see Pessimism's channel so low on subscribers. He's definitely the most charismatic Resident Evil speedrunner there has ever been on GDQ.
I followed this step by step and cleared the game 2 hours and 17 minutes. Thank you Pessimism for all my newly unlocked goodies : )

I love Pessimism, and how awesome that CarcinogenSDA was on the couch as well. For those who haven't yet, you should check out Carci's channel. He's got some sick RE runs to envy. He's also a featured runner by Capcom. Was one of the guys who commentated gameplay of RE2 Remake with some other great guests on the couch, Carci on the controller.
That said, Pessimism killed this run and a half. Sick runner, great dude. Not much more needs to be said. :)

Loved this game so much but I have forgotten so much of it I can’t believe it now my only sharpest memory is of coming around a corner and a hunter frog lizard thing instantly taking my head off with that jump swipe attack they one shot u with. It was traumatic I threw the controller fell outa chair. Loved it.

Due to the fluctuating start times of runs during the event, I missed the first 10-15 mins of the run live, so I came here thinking "I'll just watch the first bit, so I'll have seen it all" and yet here I am at the end of the run again, good looooooks my dude
1 thing I’d actually love to see in future GDQ videos, is them mentioning the world record time for the category. Just so we know how well they did for a marathon, instead of everyone just going “that’s great for a marathon”.

hes the only runner i have heard actually saying thank you for donations while playing...the other runners always seem to be more interested in telling you whats going on(which is good an all) but donations are more important.
Yeah, I get they are trying to concentrate and all, but sometimes these people donate huge amounts to their favorite runners and they can't be bothered for a one second, "thank you". Like come on, the only reason you are there is for donations. Saying thank you won't destroy your run.

Been watching AGDQ for a few years now but this is absolutely a great run to watch. Pessimism just seems like a cool dude, makes it that much better.

In 1.17.37 he's at the final part of the game, I have barley collected the death marks by that stage and I can finish it on the original cube version In under 4 hours!!!

I just had to hop on and tell you how much I liked this run. Pessimism is the homie w/o even knowing him. Most donations ever read during a run. Good look brotha.
If there is anyone that still plays this game trying to get Don’t Stop Running or Pacing, I have today 100% confirmed that you CAN in fact pause the in game timer to take breaks. I have only confirmed this on PS5. It’s also quite simple. Keep the game open but switch over to RUclips. This puts the game in a frozen, suspended mode. You can test this by opening a door and immediately switching to RUclips. When you switch back, you can clearly see that the door animation resumes where you left it.

I assume they practice some sequences in chunks and have a load of save files at various points. It would be exhausting to have to start-over constantly in practice when fucking up the nitrogen

Capcom seriously needs to add a no doors mode, especially since console doesn’t have mods.
Go play a modern RE if you want that. The doors are a huge part of the atmosphere.
sure the first few times you play the game, but I’ve been running this game for 16 years. Know it by heart. The doors at this point are just wasting time And making it harder to practice. From a speed runners perspective, I really don’t need the atmosphere I already appreciated it once.
The DS version has no door loading time.
Resident Evil without the doors is like the Mona Lisa without the smile.
