    What other safety checks would you add to my list?

    Great educational drone video without question! I like how you explain it carefully. Unfortunately the weather has been a bit to rough and windy for me to take my commercial drone up over the last couple days. Hopefully weather improves soon.

      Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah, ever since I started flying drones I pay attention to the weather more often. When in doubt, I prefer to stay home and fly another day.

      I fully agree on watching the weather prior to any flight more so now than before. I have witnessed first hand what winds are capable of doing to the light weight drones. Even with my DJI phantom, I am still very cautious.
      Real estate agents and others just need to understand that not always footage can be taken on dates of their choice is all due to weather yet some do not seem to care, they just want it *Now now now* lol.

    The half circle around the church did you use POI or did it by hand? It seemed by hand but was pretty good if it was. I only recently started to fly more and can't do smooth multiple movements yet. One of my finger will always start using less or more pressure to the footage gets faster or slower or janky.

      I did it by hand; I've been practicing that move for years and it's one of my favorites! But, there are times when I do use the POI tool on the DJI RC and let the drone do the rest.

    Probably a dumb question, but if you already got permission from the FAA, what is the purpose of checking the DJI Fly app upon your arrival?

      I guess because DJI has their own sometimes larger or additional Geo zones than from the government restriction zones that you have to unlock inside DJI
      I had that when flying in Miyakojima (Japan) recently where I was outside the airport zone given by the Japanese government but DJI had a waaay bigger additional area around it that I had to request a unlock for. Surprised me when that happened but managed to get past it using their unlocking fairly quickly.

      Good point! Things are always changing and it's also a good idea to double check using multiple apps. I much prefer the AutoPylot app over the DJI app.

    Aound how much you can charge for these kind o work ???

    • @JonathanRichey
      @JonathanRichey  5 месяцев назад +1

      Pricing is dependent on multiple factors such as where you live, the scope of the project, deadline, budget, deliverables, etc. My suggestion would be to research competitors in your area and get a rough estimate of what they are charging and then adjust your pricing accordingly. Unfortunately I cannot give you a direct answer on that topic.
