Countertop Ice Maker Repair #3

The ice maker almost made it 5 months since the last problem. For this problem though, I wasn’t able to find a replacement part. So going to patch the water tray and see how it works.

Have the same problem cracked tray. Will try your idea because I couldn’t find a replacement part for it either. As usual a great repair video 🎉.

Whew.. hope thats the last time for awhile. I just finished your 1st ice machine video. Just call me an apprentice for now. Learned alot here. Now to expand on some tools. 😊

Well, it's making creaking sound now. So not sure how much longer it's going to go. But I would buy another, great having a small ice machine.

My crack is bigger and one of the latches on the scoop tray broke. I think at this point, I'll just toss it. Inside it looks pretty dirty too, and taking this thing apart to clean it seems like a hassle. I'm just going to have to spend more to get a better product that I won't have to spend time repairing and cleaning every 6 months. It's going to break again when any ice builds up or the coils get dirty, or the cheap plastic fan breaks, and that seems hazardous. I need something that's simple to take apart and maintain with replacement parts available at the very least.

It seems they build these to be disposable and that is a shame.
