      He is a product of his people, their culture, history and their education of him in their ways. Wits might have honed his big English and knowledge of Roman Dutch Latin what what but much of what he said here just betrayed/broaght out his Swati upbringing, give that some credit.

      Character is a product of fundamental teachings masterfully taught to us by those we looked up to as children (Umuthi ugotshwa usemanzi). Ngokwami (in my analysis), had umfo kaDhlamini acquired knowledge on the Law in the absence of those basics at wits, a different man would be seated at that podium. I'm glad he begins by acknowledging that he learnt this in the rural areas and not at a lecture room.

    You spoke like a man Mr Dlamini and how you articulate your knowledge of the difference between customary law and Roman Dutch law demonstrates your deep understanding of the differences in these two laws. I also know for the fact that our customary law always relies on oral tradition as it has never been documented before

    Finally someone who's not confused about culture. Thank you Mcebo. We were just watching in shock over here. Swazi and Zulu culture are more similar than you think. Very interesting cultures, this is so sad to watch bcz there's no confusion at all here, the confusion comes when you take it to court that don't favour or understand traditional ways. Im sure there's nothing like Umntfwanenkhosi akadleli phasi in these courts but we know that culturally it is so. Whether you like it or not, she could be the last wife but she will be undlunkulu because of her blood. Praying for peace and understanding

    I came in uncertain about the real modern day significance of marriage amidst our dual law climate in SA. With his eloquent delivery of pieces of traditional knowledge (that we've been far removed from), I now have a newfound appreciation for our own culturally rooted indigenous systems.

      At last, I am schooled by Mr Dlamini. As a woman, I respect my African culture and I never wanted to cut corners when I got married. The elders have to lead and our kids must be proud of our cultural traditions & practices. Our rich African culture is rooted on a fertile continent.

There is also the dilution through ferminism which lay want to be wielded as route to equality... In this case we end up believing piwer corrupts. ...

    The most potent issue for me is that, even the definition of “discrimination” as we know it, is based on Eurocentric understanding. Maybe we need to redefine the said concept in a pure Alkebulan way and see if it will have the same consequences.
