  • Super duper quick video of me showing the first print of the SCARA robot arm 3d printer thing
    For more updates I have a discord ( / discord ) and a GitHub where I upload files (github.com/koa...)

    You can print large decorative lamp diffusors with clear filament and sell those at Ebay. Your results are impressive and i hope your efforts pay off in the end.

    Well done but by the time it finishes I'll have a robot to do things like that. ;)

    Nice work. My only advice is to go Closed Loop on all servos and you can get the cable that interfaces with most printer boards. 👍👍👍👍👍

    Sweet, now to add more axis!

    Is there a benefit to the end with the extruder rotating? Is that for if you do something other than 3D printing with it?

    Congrats men, This should be the way in future for FDM printing. I think for ABS and other filament heated bed may be the issue but we never know if those type of material/filament needs to adapt to this or someone has to find a solution for it. By the way, what will be the print area in terms of X and Y?

    Just found ur project, awesome!
    First thought: why do u have a turning effector unit? Stiff mounted would save so weight. Or do u need it for calculating/ controlling the movement?

    • @KoalDesigns
      @KoalDesigns  Год назад

      Rotating effector is to reduce the error of arm sag. Because the arm is angled under its own weight, having the rotating end allows the hotend to maintain the same relative angular position in all directions with the base.

    Congrats! It looks great. How critical is the wrist axis?

  • @FilmFactry

    I love it. Just using Stock Marlin 2.0? 32 bit card I'm assuming.

      Modified RRF and a duet wifi for the wrist

      @@KoalDesigns Hello. Can you help me with RRF for SCARA? I have the same scheme, but there were difficulties with the firmware.

    what are the dimensions of the bearing you use

  • @forloop7713
    @forloop7713 3 года назад

    So the slicer you're using supports this non-standard configuration or do you need to write your own software

    • @KoalDesigns
      @KoalDesigns  3 года назад +1

      The slicer just gives X/Y coordinates. The firmware on the microcontroller (duetWiFi) converts the X/Y numbers into the special motor moves for the arm
