    Incredible how stubborn those Jewish people going to the Christian synagogue are, when they can easily see it isn’t pointing at their temple, but they will not see the truth of their Jewish brother Yeshua which that synagogue actually commemorates. I recently heard a Jewish girl say she’d learned that Jesus was a Roman. Her Rabbis still to this day try everything they can to keep their followers from discovering their Messiah. Still, what gave me hope was the news that the group of Messianic Jews is growing rapidly. Many are finding out the Truth of Christ and believing in His teachings. God is love ❤🙏

    In 2014 I was at the Church of the Holy Sepucher and I also visited the Garden Tomb. The Holy Sepulcher is the one not deep enough for the 1st century of Jesus' time. However, the Garden Tomb was discovered in 1867 by digging down. First The Skull eyes were also almost buried and since it is part of Mt. Moriah, archeologist dug down and found the Skull. Knowing Jesus had been buried in a garden tomb not far away, archeologist did further digging and found the Garden Tomb very close by. Now the Garden Tomb may or may not be the burial place of Jesus, but you could say the same for the Holy Sepulcher. What is important is we will never know because He did not die but rose again. And the Garden Tomb is a much more pleasant place to visualize what Jesus' tomb would have looked like.

      We have much more provenance with the Church of the Holy Sepulcher than we do with the Garden Tomb, which had been neglected for hundreds of years, meaning early believers did not consider this to be authentic.

    Joel, I've always had a problem with the traditional place of the crusifixtion and burial place of Christ. Gordon's Calvary seems to fit it better. The traditional isn't North enough of the Temple. Also what about David burying Golioth's head at Jerusalem in relation to the place of a skull as well as the skull like shape of Gordon's Calvary. I'd love a comment.

      The garden tomb goes all the back to 7th century before Christ so can't be the freshly-hewn tomb of Joseph of Arimathea.
      Golgotha, or place of skull, had nothing to do with the shape of the terrain but because people at that time believed that the skull of Adam was buried there.
      Also, ancient records indicate that the area was used by Roman soldiers as stable for their horses. So the place cannot be the area of crucifixion.

    The so-called "garden tomb" (and all tombs in that vicinity) goes all the way back to 7th century before Christ. But scripture tells us that Jesus was laid in the newly-hewn tomb of Joseph of Arimathea (Matthew 27:60). So the "garden tomb" cannot be the place of Jesus' burial.
    Scripture also tells us that Jesus was crucified in a place called Golgotha (place of the skull) because people at that time believed that the skull of Adam was buried there, and not because the place looked like a skull.

    • @OfficialSonOfRock
      @OfficialSonOfRock 4 года назад

      Honest question : I know they say Adam was buried there. But How do you know that Golgatha refers to Adam's skull, and not the appearance of the place?

    • @mitch6676ify
      @mitch6676ify 4 года назад +3

      Nope. Wrong. The Garden Tomb actually dates later than the time of Jesus. But nothing says that it cannot be at a slightly lower level now hidden below todays street level. In fact the crucifixion site is there at the golgotha cliff face (but 20 feet below todays ground level) so the tomb is NOT in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. This has been a great deception by Constantines mother since ancient days.
      By the way, the very spot (of Jesus; crucifixion) is marked by a covered platform there. If you look closely you can see the tops of two of the niches that held the large print signs that advertized His crime, just above the floor of the platform. As you can see the actual earthquake crack (since filled in) above them. This crack was found to cut across the cross hole found at an archaeological dig on this very site back in 1979-82. Now start reading the bible with new eyes and see where all this was predicted.. dan 9:24, 1John 5. "water, blood, spirit in earth..these three agree" Do your research! Amazing and awesome God! Time is short. Get saved people.

    At 32:12 "niche not pointing to the "Temple". (Synagogue niches must point toward the Temple.) It is nice to hear where the niche points to (Golgotha/Resurrection Tomb/currently, Church of Holy Sepulcher) but it would have been as good if it pointed to the Temple - where it had been, as it was destroyed by the time the structure he is on was built as a "Jewish church". Perhaps because the Temple had been destroyed, this is the reason the niche points to what was still relevant (Resurrection Tomb). I believe the Temple was in/next to the City of David, south of the so-called Temple Mount.

    I believe you're wrong for a number of reasons. Tomb style, location of CHS is at a inside corner of the old 1st century wall. The Romans crucified victims next to main routes of travel and this location was not near a historical derech or road. The road to Shechem or Damascus would have been more likely. There is no wine press near this location because no garden would have been built near a wall. Leviticus and Numbers says the passover lamb would be taken north outside the camp or city and sacrificed there. The CHS is west not north or behind where the scriptures say the temple would have laid. This is more than likely not the place because the layout of the loculus' as recorded by John where the body was laid on the right of the opening. Just a few reasons for your errors.

      The real golgotha is at the cliff face at the bus station. THERE IS A VIEWING PLATFORM THERE TODAY.. But the most significant spot lies about 30ft west of that, to a slightly lower platform where there is 2000 year old earthquake crack Mat27) and the tops of two niches can be seen just above the floor. These held the signs of Jesus' crime. And if these were placed "above" OR "OVER" Him. then the actual cross holes at the crucifixion site must be around 20 feet below this. And indeed, a late 70's archaeological dig at that spot found them.

  • @andrewfields8556

      @andrewfields8556 Год назад

      @@ericrusselljohnson1 Where is your evidence first and foremost? That's where it lies, it lies in the details of the bible. The church of the holy sepulcher does not fit biblical authentication. While I really like a lot of Joel's videos he judges most of what he finds based on what he was taught in archeology school.
      You can't always base the authentication on tradition passed down from generation to generation (although that can play a role), and how many times the building site was tore down and rebuilt over. There is so much more evidence pointing to the garden tomb, the fact that this site is no where near Golgotha is the biggest evidence, but never the less it isn't the only evidence.
      This is why God used Ron Wyatt as he didn't have any presuppositions, Ron Wyatt wasn't trained in the area of archeology. He was a lay-worker and so he only went off the evidence he was shown by God through the bible and not by what an institute says what is, and isn't.
      Don't get me wrong, there is a place for education obviously and I'm not putting it down. But a lot of times God cannot fully use someone trained in any literary institution because of presuppositions based on what they were taught. With that being said I don't believe that Joel does this all the time or you wouldn't even be seeing this comment because I wouldn't watch his videos. I think a lot of the time his videos are spot on.

How about just 4 pieces. 1) Layers: There is no way the early Christians would not have commemorated the place where Jesus was crucified and buried, yet there was no commemoration of this place; 2) too far away: yes, it's outside the walls of Jerusalem, but so was the Church of the HS at the time this event took place; 3) tomb is much older than by hundreds of years, since this was a newly dug tomb; 4) not even the guides at the Garden Tomb hold as strongly as you do (When I first started going in 2009, they were strong, but for the past 5 or 6 years, they acknowledge the weaknesses in the theory. I have been visiting Jerusalem 13x since 2009 and know this is not just a "presupposition" of Joel's or other archaeologists. @@ericrusselljohnson1(1) respectfully, you say that you've been to Jerusalem so many (X) amount of times but that is not convincing me of anything. (2) not one shred of evidence was provided in your last statement, but simply how I'm wrong, and your right. (3) Since you've been to Jerusalem (allegedly) so many (X) amount of times you should also know that Jerusalem was destroyed by the emporer Titus in a.d. 70. This act completely destroyed anything and everything (just like Jesus prophecied it would) in the city and also the temple (which the temple is what Jesus was mainly talking about, but was also taking about the city, i.e. no stone left upon another ). The city was destroyed so irreconcilable that many sites and sacred places were lost sight of. They just found the pool of Salome recently (in fact, it was about a week ago) where Jesus healed a blind man. It is said that this pool was covered up by the Romans from the hostile seige in a.d. 70) Anyways, I don't think commemoration is a good argument for this one. The place where the church is today was outside the city walls when Jesus was crucified. It was a few decades later when the walls expanded to include that area. Scholars are pretty united that this church is where it is at. Even at the Garden Tomb, guides are now telling people they aren't sure, whereas just a few years ago they insisted it was there. There is no proof it was at the Garden Tomb. If so, we would expect to see layers over it because Christians would not have forgotten. They always do.

    Yes it point to the resurrection, because the church was persecuted the first centaury they built catacombs , below the ground, caves sometimes. Until came back to restore the tradition at the tomb. Will you guys accept orthodoxy or continue having that black spot in the head not quite born of the Holy Spirit but being beheaded like this ? Human thought can't be more correct then the Holy Spirit and the tradition of the church, but contradicts in many cases the truth !
    Church was born, but protestants betrayed it, same as the catholics, but I don't believe the 15th centaury templars built something that is correct, I believe it is incorrect, unless they built it upon already existing place of the church. And stop eating so much, you eat, but don't have from the Spiritual life and the Holy Spirit. Protestantism is a synagogue enterprise, they used them and threw them in America after this, so you are no longer needed by them so you can enter the church, we are the first ever church, that came from the apostles.

    Sorry, wrong tomb and crucifixion site. The Garden Tomb is the correct site and the crucifixion site is down from there not on the hill. Romans did this act by busy roads for psychological reasons. For people to see. Your where right on the tombs but wrong on this.

      The Garden Tomb dates back centuries before Jesus's time, and the Bible says Joseph of Arimethea's tomb was a new tomb.

      What's he talking about... It was Golgotha...the rock of the skull....and the Garden tomb was his burial site.

    12:50 don't mock at anyone even when they say to you to go out because you are disturbing the holiness of the place by only considering it as an historical place. especially when you are inside near place of holy eucharist. You can say that anyone can worship God anywhere but what Jesus truly said is only going to happen. Peter is the only rock where Jesus built his church Mathew 16:16-19. He and his successor and the priests anointed has the apostolic grace to consecrate the remembrance of God, and throughout 2000 years in the catholic Church there are many eucharistic miracle happened proving it's miraculous facts, even the science have to agree it. But it's one's choice to believe it. But by mocking you will get nothing. Even things what you conquered will be like a ruin which will not be useful for you. The kings and all powerful people who once conquered many things are now no more, but the servants of God like the saints of the catholic church are there as a living testimony among the people. Saint Antony, St. Sebastian and countless other saints)of the catholic Church are the righteous and are in heaven according to " The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous" proverbs 15:29, 10: 25 "when the tempest passes, the wicked are no more, but the righteous are established for ever". There is no religion where God shows his righteous servants as these saints and the miracles of the eucharist in the catholic Church and the power of the apostolic authority through the priests. Even I also got countless graces from God through the intercession of these saints. Glory be to Jesus. Amen.
