Eddie, you missed the ambulance fans. Someone loaded that thing up when the originally ordered it. Camping box, safaris, ambo fans, tent(you can see the brackets on the bumpers but oddly I did not see the roof mounts🤷♂️), roof rack. Nice to see someone who is not so precious about an early camper. Send him over to Greg Nobel and I bet he could help with getting the rest of the interior made. I have a collection of early eberspacher heaters. Not sure if he’d be interested. LMK. Great content sir!
Glad you enjoyed it. I love sharing these stories with the hope of inspiring people to explore and enjoy life. Going 50mph in a bus helps you do that. 🤙
@@EddyCollins-TZN168 My first bus was a '67 camper, then a '63 standard, and now a '58 lowered panel - was a local plumbing vehicle. I'm not getting rid of this one 😊
That’s awesome. I love this color combination myself. However, I have not owned one like this yet. I had a 1960 SO23 that was beige-gray + sealing wax red. I believe that Bus is now in Spain.
So sweet!!! I love my bay window & it was my first VW ever but splits will always be the best looking for sure. At the end of the day, I love all old VW's!
I hear ya. I have a bay as well. It’s the “family” wagon. The rest are working class splits. But I do love all VWs. Something about the scent as you as you sit in one that brings back good memories.
@@EddyCollins-TZN168 That's awesome!!! I'm only 40 but my kids are already asking who the bus will go to when I die (they are asking the important questions. haha) Everything about VW's has been appealing to me since I was a teenager when my buddy got a Westy & went camping with him - from there I was hooked. The VW community in itself has been amazing. "The VW smell" - I know exactly what you mean, I love it! 🤙Do you have any videos of you own?? Id love to check them out!
Sweet find! It really is amazing how the pgsg paint endures the abuse of the sun and weather over the years. Always wondered what the deal was with “creepy Santa” now we know.
Yeah, Creepy Santa is the best! And to your point, it is pretty interesting. How certain colors have withstood the test of time more than others. Makes me wonder if they sprayed more coats than others.
That’s awesome though! Just thinking about the experiences you had probably, and sadly, sum up to more than what younger generations experience in half of their lives today.
@@EddyCollins-TZN168 That bus, that auction. Not sure if you were the buyer that day, but it brought a lot of attention. Great bus BTW. Very cool to see it out and getting driven like it should be.
I’m sorry. Totally forgot that this bus came from an auction. The owner did mention that. Anyway, it’s definitely a cool one! It’s also pretty rad how the guy drives it pretty much everywhere!
Cool old bus, Daniel. Found my '58 camper in the woods in Alaska where she had been hibernating for close to 50 years- now we trip around the Last Frontier every summer. If anyone in old VW’S makes it up here, look me up: Tim in Tok ✌️🚌
@EddyCollins-TZN168 yeah, definitely. Sorry to have missed you. It sure is great meeting Volks folks from around the world every summer passing through our little po-dunk town- everyone has a story, and, like your channel, we really enjoy having people over and sharing our Alaskan lifestyle with others from around the world and hearing their stories. Thanks for your focus on not only their neat buses, but also their stories- it's exceptional 👏
@@IAm1InTheIAm awwww man, you sure hit the nail on the head there with regard to my purpose of this channel: focus on the owners first, then their car……..because the Volks come before the wagen.
I wish it was the same. 😊Unfortunately it’s the only original literature image I had. Pretty cool to see the family camping back in the day. Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed it.
What an incredible find. A true beautiful piece of history.

@@EddyCollins-TZN168 I have spent most of my life in the "slow lane." Currently working on my '58 panel. 🙂
My first bus was a 1960 double door panel. Coincidentally, it was actually built on my birthday!! 😮

For sure don’t get rid of it! Panels are so great!
What a find watching this has put huge smile on my face absolutely awesome 👌
Another great video, you're living the dream~!
Thanks so much!
When my family had the dealership in the 50's and 60's a friend of my dad's had a bus with the same color combinations.

Was the dealership in Michigan?
@@hallmanw No, my grandfather opened the dealership in Fresno, 1953.
Great tour !! Thx for that.

Which car at which auction?

How far on a gallon of gas can this 36 hp bus get to?
🇸🇪👍🙂🚗👋
Make it real and put a 36 hp monster back in it.
It does have a 36hp in it. That’s what wild. He’s cruising around all of these states with that little power plant.
It might be a 40 hp single port.@@EddyCollins-TZN168
@@allenschmitz9644go to 2:42 and zoom in on the engine case and he will notice it’s a 36 horse engine case.
