It's really depressing how Chiemon starts to Genuinely dislike jeane whenever she acts like herself and tries to help him
It’s not that depressing really, it’s ironic. Despite being (probably) a good Christian, God did not have mercy on him, his family or his community. That’s bound to give any religious man a serious crisis. To add on this, now this “Holy Maiden” thinks she can give him the mercy God never could? That won’t reverse anything that happened to him! It feels like a mockery from the Big Guy in Heaven himself.
The irony here comes in when Jeanne, in one way or another, does plan to make good on her statement, but Chiemon is too full of righteous fury to listen. While it may be stupid of him to do this, it’s certainly not something he can be blamed for.

Chiemon actually finds solace in Jeanne's flames in the bad ending when he uses it to kill caster. A bittersweet moment really. Perhaps in those flames, he saw how beneath the purity and unshakable faith of his stoic servant, there was a human girl, a victim like him who was wronged by the evils of the world
@@giladmachluf3663 crisis such as this comes when your faith isn't established... he must've been new to Christianity or believed in a simplified version of it. In Catholicism men act on their own accord and yeah, some people use free will to hurt others. God isn't going to weep their asses all day, all night - without free will there's no true love, we would be slaves in a golden cage of paradise if He made us completely dependent on Him. At least that's how I see it through the lenses of my faith.
The funny thing is thay this isn't even a "le shipping moment" this is just how Jeanne would act, both as a saint and as a servant. She really is trying to save Chiemon but he isn't having any of that. Her compassion is not enough to make him change, its doomed from the start. He never wanted to be saved, he wanted to have revenge not matter the cost.
In fairness tho, practically nothing can make him change. To him, this isn’t a Saint’s compassion falling on deaf ears, it’s God himself mocking him.
Cannot save those who don't want to be saved moment 🤷♂ A persons compassion can only do so much the dude just want death.
People completely misinterpret what she means due to a lack of knowledge about her character and persona
It’s really interesting here seeing the distinction from this Jeanne from the Jalter we know from FGO. Lancer is clearly still OG Jeanne based on how she still accepts god and wants to save Chiemon however she can. It makes sense that Lancer isn’t the Jalter we know at all and is instead a variant of the original Jeanne instead

I guess Jalter will only be Jalter once she gets summoned into the Avenger class
@@bluedefalt4097 Well, FGO makes is pretty clear that JAlter is a completely fictional character that should've disappeared after the first singularity.
The only reason she's summonable is because there's *someone* who never forgot about her, therefore Ritsuka is the only one capable of doing so.

@@eagle162I do wish they did more with Chiemon and Lancer but it makes a ton of sensethat Chiemon would summon Jeanne given what both the IRL and in-game Shimabara Rebellion.
I love how this is a actual just regular Jeanne but who tried so hard to save her master that she summoned herself wrong and made a weird pseudo-alter since truly making Jeanne Alter is impossible
I feel like this relationship isn’t meant to be seen as romantic, similarly to how Iori and Saber’s relationship is one of camaraderie, the one between Chiemon and Lancer is one of pity (at least on Jeanne’s end) and of sheer edginess (on both sides). I like that.
BTW, “If the Lord doesn’t love you, then I will” sounds so frickin metal, it’s awesome. This is why we stan Jalter.

I see Jeanne is taking the Heaven's Feel Route of focusing on trying to save one person instead of the world.
It kind of reminds me how Buddha took pity on Twice to save his soul.
To me this looks like anyone that shows care and affection to Chiemon ends up just gone and he doesn't want Jeanne gone so he just pushes her away. He isn't even angry at the last part. It feels like he's begging her not to get close to him or it's gonna get bad.

It looks like Lancer is the representation of Jeanne d' Arc that was both considered a Saint and a Witch.
Unlike Ruler (our beloved jeanne from Apocrypha) who is mostly the representaiton of the saint, and Avenger (our beloved tsundere from Grand order) who is mostly the representation of the witch.
I also find it so funny that in the anime and the game, Jeanne falls in love with her Master.

This is not the Jeanne Alter from FGO, aka one created by Gilles wishes. This is somehow Jeanne OG altered (despite that it should be impossible, retcon I guess?).

It’s less that it’s impossible it’s more she’s not evil but instead of giving her entire being for the many she is giving her entire body and soul for one person only in that sense she has abandoned her original ideals for the sake of one person

@@jericojoir4894 Yeah we know, but that ain’t the joke here. In Fate, Jeanne d’Arc has had 2 main depictions: Ruler (AKA Jeanne) and Avenger (AKA Jeanne Alter or Jalter).
This depiction borrows elements from both, while still being unique: a design more closely resembling Jeanne Alter but a personality that, while resembling the Ruler more than the Avenger, is distinct from both. As such, "Jeanne Dark", a joke name playing off her dark clothing while referencing her name, is honestly a pretty cool one!
Edit: Jancer’s funny too, but this one’s cooler imo.

Somehow I'm really glad this isn't the Jalter we know and love. Call me self insert loser but the moment with Jeanne on her Interlude and Bond lines is special. It's like she is becoming a full fledged servant just for Ritsuka the master that she trust the most even in Lily form or Shinjuku.
The way she once hated that she's only a dream that shouldn't be real, to accepting even happily become a fleeting dream that accompanied her master till the end of their journey is just so cool and romantic.
Lets be honest Chiemon cannot be saved because he himself don't want to be saved. You replace Jalter with any other saint you get the same response. Personally I don't even think its love in a romantic way.

Can someone please help understand. Jalter's profile 3 pretty much says OG Jeanne can't have an alter, because she's a saint and not hero, and fgo jalter exist only because of gilles perverted(non sexual)/twisted thoughts of his ideal Jeanne. How does this jalter exist? is it a retcon? or does the story have explains this?
Its definitely gotta be something related to Chiemon being who summoned her. He didn't had any catalyst, so this was basically the Waxing Moon going "Here, you will like this one, I modified her to your tastes".
It wouldn't be the first time we see that a Servabt is heavily influenced by who summoned them.

She basically took pity on him and wanted to try and 'save' Chiemon from his path of revenge. So she wound up turning HERSELF into an altered version.
D'ark has a much weaker will than Jeanne OR Jalter due to this. So Chiemon can kind of just boss her around and she won't say much about it. Atleast, that's my understanding of the situation via translations of the artbook and what happens in game.
Can you blame him tho. Dude was a most likely a faithful christian and despite that him, his family and everyone around him got screwed over. That would shatter any man's faith, bow imagine a "holy maiden" telling you that she can do what god himself couldn't/wouldnt do and tries to "save" him. This is original jeanne accepting to become an alter for the sake of saving his master, the quote on jeanne can’t be altered has a flaw at the time the only way to become an alter was to be corrupted by outside influence which jeanne woudnt be, however recently a new type of alter has been coming up, thoose that willingly accept to be altered, here the saint jeanne the og jeanne, has abbandoned her ideal of love to save everyone and her mind is fixated on saving chiemon out of pity for him as such this has made her accept all the negativity chiemon had and in the process by abbandoning her old conviction and accepting chiemon’e feelings of rage and revenge that she turned into an alter

Yep this is the actual Jeanne, and Chiemon is to blame for why she is a FR Alter instead of the FGO Gilles fanfic Jeanne Alter, dude's hate and revenge boner for the Shimhabara Rebellion ending is so strong it managed to corrupt a supposedly incorruptable Saint into an Alter, and being able to do so shows pretty much the man is beyond any salvation save for the release of death (and that is saying a lot about in comparison to many characters in the Fate/ series).
