The BW font fits perfectly when you consider that it's a past gen, yet it's always been shown as the most futuristic of all 9 now. Covering both bases at one time, absolute madman
BW also had a past/future theme but less prevalent - in Black City/White Forest and the dragon gym town Edit: now I remember, the dragon gym leader changing between an old man and a little girl between versions
It also is funny that beyond BW, the only game as sci-fi as either Paldea or Unova is Kanto itself what with the genetic engineering of Mewtwo, and somewhat Alola with Type: Null. Everything else seems to be modern or mythopoetic.
@@LeKornorBros actually that's part of why I feel it has an edge! The real one has tones that create an energetic intensity. It's an epic track to hype the big moment. Wow, this is really well translated into the BW soundfont while still keeping the intensity of the original (which many transcriptions lack), amazing job! Definitely could see this playing ingame back in the BW era
This is 1000% the best remix I've heard using the Gen 5 soundfont for any song, guess it helps that you're translating a Pokemon song and it feels right, but the choice of what instruments to use in certain places is perfect, good stuff!
This remix sorta reminds me of one chilling detail. Turo and Sada both cite the line "If only there were two of me." In their journal entries (around Research Station 3 or 4, for rather obvious reasons), but the only other time we see this line in the main series is from Drayden in BW2 during the Opelucid attack- the Opelucid leader of both games unlike his role being reserved to just one in Pokémon Black (a feature Turo and Sada share). The fact Opelucid City is known as Time's Dividing Line and this **one line** is echoed by three characters in particular (for Drayden I suspect it's in reference to the Twin Heroes since he holds a relic related to them) really brings some nice callbacks- especially when we have BW remakes on the horizon. Just some neat stuff.
And then later in SV, we have another character, Drayton, who's related to Drayden. Dunno the significance of that lol but the multiple connections are interesting nonetheless.
It's more like 3 stories. 1. The usual gym challenge which you can't really have a pokemon game without. 2. The "evil" team which isn't at all evil, just a bunch of kids who tried to stop bullying. 3. The main plot with the legendary, that boils down to "my pet is sick please help". The simplicity really works. There's no one trying to exploit the legendary to rule the world, the legendary itself is probably a common species where it's from instead of a God. The closest thing to a villain clearly wasn't a monster, just overly focused on their goal to the point of ignoring potential consequences.
This has made me realize that, even though the SONG works in almost any pokemon game, the battle against turo/sada only gives the most chills in the newest game. The animation to start it, plus the animations during the fight, it all comes together in an epic battle that tells you that your fighting for something grand
And that you're up against a sympathetic character who's putting their very existence on the line to save Paldea and doesn't want to fight you but knows they have to.
Its kinda funny because gen 5 is primarily the gen known for its very hyper and sometimes dramatic electrical instruments, and this they just encapsulate this theme so well
This is really a great cover. its starts off with its own vibe. And I like it. It is slightly slower than the original and I love the catchy beat and the bass. The song gets better the longer you listen, and it becomes more like the original as it goes on. This is a master piece.

This sounds exactly like how I imagined this song would sound like in this soundfont!
I had already heard a gen 5 gym leader remixed in the latest games. It was definitely inevitable we'd get banger that turns a banger theme into another banger (gen 5 edition)
I love this arrangement so much. It's really impressive how you managed to capture the same feel of the song, while adding in that extra hint of emotion and nostalgia from the BW2 soundfont. Awesome job!!
This is lovely, great work! The electric guitar from this soundfont sounds amazing here, and your instrumentation choices are all perfect. I really like that this cover makes the arpeggios stand out a little bit more.
This song perfectly reflects how I felt at this point. To learn that the very professor who gave you the task of watching over an extremely unique Pokemon at the start of the game, something we've done time and again from the past 8 generations, was actually the main antagonizing force behind all the strange occurrences in Paldea. I felt VERY conflicted about what went down in Area Zero, with the song emphasizing an impending ecological disaster pitted against the twisted ideals of a Pokemon Professor.
And a professor we never even meet. Even when we do, in the DLC, it's heavily implied to be them from a different timeline, so we still never meet THEM, only their reflection.
A gaming company that inspired a young boy to make one of the best rpg indie games ever made, then hired the now adult and successful Man to pour his heart and soul and love for said game into their latest iteration. And this is how you hand down the torch to a new generation of pokemon game creators. Thank you Gamefreak and thank you Toby Fox.
I'm still not over the fact that the official design is basically just the guy in the Chad meme, but with a labcoat. Honestly though, peak design for both Professors (and their egos) and a fitting theme song.
Whoa, this is awesome! I find that a lot of Gen 5 remixes end up losing a lot of the original energy of the song in the process, but this still captures the feeling of the original piece excellently! Instead of feeling like a downgrade of the song, this feels legitimately really great in its own right. Seriously amazing job on this.
YES Like I do appreciate the strong themes of gen 5, but they bring it up on the nose frequently enough to make it a catch phrase, and picked the perfect instruments for that feel

i genuinely love the music for this bossfight (both the original and this version), i like how it uses motifs (is that the right word?) from the tera raid music, area zero music, and some others i forgot. it really heightened the emotions of the fight too, or maybe i just get too invested in video games. who knows.
i'm so tired tonight, i don't have any words for how good this remix is and how good the base song is but hell yeah, i'm so glad the story was so good and we all loved it
This compliments both games well. Because my playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet made me think about how complicated the reception to Generation 5 was too! Gen 5 introduced new things, like hidden abilities and a story that was memorable! It was the first game that started really leaning toward breaking the mold with now moving sprites in battle too and a huge map. Look at how far we've come.
The AI leaving to parts unknown, unsure if they would even survive, but hoping they can be free no matter the outcome...Arven crying out for a parent he knows is gone, that this is only an artificial being his parent made but calling for them as if they were the genuine person... "Your parent truly loved you" We have no reason to doubt those words. And Arven will never have true closure. Even if he met the version at the crystal pool, they're not his parents. they're the parents of a different Arven, in a different timeline. Even if the pool really let him see the spirit of his actual parent, he would still never understand why they wanted something so horrid. And even if the AI was able to return, even if they took on the role of his parent, they wouldn't be the same. They're a separate being entirely. They could be *a* parent to him, and it's clear that they wanted to be, but they can never be the person he wants them to be.
God I wanted the other professor to be a teacher at Blueberry. The one who walked out when Arven was a baby. Because dammit I went down in that crater to punch ONE of Arven's parents in the face and I'm not digging up a dead guy so Sada had better be ready to square up. She may have abs of steel but I've got a level 100 Veluza who's more than eager to be wielded like a baseball bat
Amazing!!! You should do the elite 4 theme in BW2 format. There was a bug where the first 5 seconds would loop and it gave an ominous vibe which I really liked
Hey now you get that in Masters! Arven even tries to teach N how to cook! Them plus Silver and Lillie and Gladion should form a support group for children of supervillains
Man, i wish this theme is used for a bossfight that adventure the worlds, found an epic katana and a manual book about it, kill himself with it, and the demon inside the katana control his Body and want to control the world

i genuinely love the music for this bossfight (both the original and this version), i like how it uses motifs (is that the right word?) from the tera raid music, area zero music, and some others i forgot. it really heightened the emotions of the fight too, or maybe i just get too invested in video games. who knows.
i'm so tired tonight, i don't have any words for how good this remix is and how good the base song is but hell yeah, i'm so glad the story was so good and we all loved it
This SLAPS oh my gosh, love this
I didn't know you could improve perfection
35 hours of the real treasure being the friends we made along the way. 2 hours of saving the world. Perfectly balanced
The fact Solargress is this underrated is a CRIME
With Area zero and this theme, theres something so beautiful, intimidating and unnerving about them.
This is AMAZING. I really miss the soundfonts of older Pokemon games. This remix is phenomenal. Thank you so much for making it.
Gen 5 is still and will always be my favorite generation in terms of world and atmosphere
Gen 4-6 will always be my favourites
BW2っぽさを感じたのは世界共通か……
i was just thinking of doing one myself when i saw this
absolute glory
also could you do the area zero wild battle theme too cuz whenever i hear it the strings scream bw
@@snowtenkey118 And the battle theme too!
The story especially at the end huts hard when u know what happened and is happening during ur time 😳
このアレンジ好きすぎる
First thing I thought hearing this theme in game is how gen 5 it feels, you nailed it dude!
I can't be the only one that legit cried at the ending cutscenes with Arven and AI Turo/Sada
The AI leaving to parts unknown, unsure if they would even survive, but hoping they can be free no matter the outcome...Arven crying out for a parent he knows is gone, that this is only an artificial being his parent made but calling for them as if they were the genuine person...
"Your parent truly loved you"
We have no reason to doubt those words.
I thought it said "You are challenged by Professor Turd" and I was about to cry
I mean if he keeps acting like one to his son... 👀
1:47 this literally made me cry
oh this absolutely SLAPS
2:37 hits HARD! I love it.
Toby fox really put his signature in his theme lmao i love it
すごいarrange❣️love!
Thank you. Thank you so much for this.
How the hell does this video EXACTLY nail the 5th gen feeling?
I could honestly imagine this to be inside the game
This gave me chills omg its been years since any song at all has done that to me :o
かっこよすぎる
First game was BW2 so hearing the inevitable Unova backing trumpets is so amazing on this track
This is so sick! I hope you will do more Pokemon VS Themes like the area zero battle theme :)
*You enter the blueberry academy*
*Someone taps your shoulder*
*This theme starts*
God I wanted the other professor to be a teacher at Blueberry. The one who walked out when Arven was a baby. Because dammit I went down in that crater to punch ONE of Arven's parents in the face and I'm not digging up a dead guy so Sada had better be ready to square up. She may have abs of steel but I've got a level 100 Veluza who's more than eager to be wielded like a baseball bat
This is fucking awesome I loved this fight in scarvio. Thank you for this
Amazing!!! You should do the elite 4 theme in BW2 format. There was a bug where the first 5 seconds would loop and it gave an ominous vibe which I really liked
Masterclass
i love this so much.
This fits so well
this is amazing, truly captures the style of the earlier gen. makes me so nostalgic!! well done
I feel like N and Arven would bond over their neglectful parental figures
Hey now you get that in Masters! Arven even tries to teach N how to cook!
Them plus Silver and Lillie and Gladion should form a support group for children of supervillains
I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW AMAZING THIS IS YOU ARE AN ARTIST
Missed opportunity to feature Sada for this past rendition of a modern theme
This boss fight gave me chills but also insanely motivated me!
You can definitely tell this is a Toby Fox song
This had no buisness slappin this hard!
Mixed with my fav Gen
Love it!!!!
Not me misreading Professor Turo as “Professor Turd”. 💀
How am I nostalgic for a reality that doesn't exist?? Good job, brother.
Man, i wish this theme is used for a bossfight that adventure the worlds, found an epic katana and a manual book about it, kill himself with it, and the demon inside the katana control his Body and want to control the world
him
Never knew Turo would look even cooler in a BW style of sprite
If only Scarlet and Violet came out in this era…
Eh. I doubt it would made much of a difference.
@@saphiriathebluedragonknight375 ALTHOUGH we would get more animated sprites so that’s always cool.
it'd probably be on par with gen 5 as best gen since it would not have the performance issues it currently has
Maybe people would appreciate it more and not bitch about the bugs.
This could've been Colress' final battle music or something
Well done
