Incredible! Thank you for uploading this magnificent active volcano. One can only imagine what this monster is up to down below that eerie crater. To me, volcanoes are right there up in the top 5 most amazing things on this planet. To be so violent and dangerous but yet create such beauty.

I once went to Pompeii on a school trip and we walked to the top and it was awesome aha. My great grandad saw it when it erupted in Italy back when he used to fly spitfires in ww2

i dont see any holes in it where the lava is at, it just looks like a massive meteor crater in a regular mountain, i dont get it

It’s dormant at the moment, so that is called the ‘caldera’ that’s the big hole the lava came out of.

Most volcanoes don’t have just magma/lava sitting on the surface of the volcano. Most of the pressure builds in magma lakes many miles beneath the surface until the the earths crust can no longer contain it. That is when the magma rushes to the surface and explodes out.

    • @adavidson116116

Like take Yellowstone for instance . Yellowstone is not a strato-volcano like Vesuvius here. Yellowstone looks like gentle rolling hills. If it wasn’t for the hot springs it probably would’ve take geologist much longer to figure out there is a huge volcano there. But the hot springs and geysers where the initial tip off to the huge magma lake under Yellowstone. And Yellowstone along with Vesuvius are still labeled active volcanos, not because they have erupted recently ( but Vesuvius had a small eruption in 1944) but they are labeled active because it is clear that their magma lakes are still gaining in pressure and size. So they are both just building strength and waiting for their moment in the spotlight. A long with many other massive volcano’s around the world.

U can tell how big the eruption was based on volume of material ejected. Vers what was replaced since the destruction 0f Pompeii an Herculaneum an other near by villages in 79 ad. If took all the ash nd rock fragments back an it will give u the exact height of the original volcano back between 56 ad to 88 ad.

At 00:23, the Herculaneum ruins would be at the right edge of the screen close to the coastline. At about 1:10, the Pompeii area would be roughly just left of the center of the screen, above the far rim of the crater.

God punished them because they were doing evil, they were having sex (the man with the man) and (the woman with the woman), and they were also having sex with animals, and they were killing believers who converted to Christianity at that time, as they were entering them into the Roman stadium and sending tigers and lions on them, The emperor and his entourage watch the believers being eaten and torn apart by lions and tigers. The emperor and those with him laughed and enjoyed watching this brutality. All these ugly and despicable actions angered the Almighty God, so he punished them with the volcano of Mount Vesuvius, this volcano wiped them out, where he buried the entire city of Pompeii. See how God Almighty punished the unjust. This is a lesson for all the oppressors, the tyrants, the enemies of God and the enemies of humanity
