Kruger National Park in 8 Days

September - 7 nights and 8 glorious days in Kruger national park. Hiring a 4-wheel drive we headed off from Johannesburg and stayed in Graskop (VERY cool hotel www.graskophote...) for one night on the way (its an 8 hour drive all up so we decided to break it up as there is SO much to see on the way) ... we then entered Kruger through a more northerly gate (Phalaborwa) So we could then head slowly southward over the 8 days. From the 1st camp (Olifants) we spend 2 days exploring the northern part (which had less animals but amazing country).
Fantastic trip, saw plenty of animals every day, especially elephant, giraffe and zebra (saw 4 of the big 5 most days then started seeing Leopard on the last 2 days and a cheetah!). Had a scary moment with an elephant as you will see (was a lot scarier in real life than the video shows I can tell you!). We had packed lunches every day with plenty of drink. Windows down a lot of the time. Its nice travelling so slowly (sometimes only 15-20km an hour). plenty of places to get out and stretch if you need to. Accommodation was really funky and very comfortable. You don't NEED a 4-wheel drive but its nice to be higher than a lot of the other cars. Most of all we just loved the exploring element to it.
