I'm glad that at least they acknowledge the importance of ammo. Like in majority of the media they act like they have an infinite amount of bullets and here they give huge focus on that aspect.
frontman and gihun, both won the squid game, but chose different paths.. i think the frontman wanted gihun to be like him - heartless and all.. he hates the fact that a squid game winner still has humanity left in him
The reason Daeho is portrayed as being huddled in the corner of his bed due to trauma can be attributed to his character’s backstory as a former member of the “Marine Corps,” class 1140. According to the narrative, he enlisted on April 18, 2011, and was discharged on January 17, 2013. Notably, during this period in South Korea, the Ganghwa Marine Corps shooting incident occurred, leading some to interpret his trauma as stemming from this event.
the whole purpose for the frontman to come down and play with gi-hun is to show him no matter how much he tries the world is broken and it isn't going to change no matter what. When he gave the speech at the voting maybe he wanted to make Gi-hun realize that people will keep on being greedy and continue to play even if it comes at the cost of others death or worse yet even theirs therefore solidifying his views about the games being morally correct since bar the first game contestants are always given the chance to quit.
The mom stopping hyunju is actually a lot better decision than her trying to kill as many as she could cuz its impossible, she'll get outnumbered and may actually put the other player in danger. She's skilled, thats the thing they need to keep her alive cuz she's most likely gonna be vital in their final escape yk
I'm not sure if I can convey it well using a translator. This is just my imagination, but the reason No. 388 panicked and ran away while delivering the bullet was probably due to the trauma of an accident that actually occurred in the Korean Marine Corps. To do so, we must understand the incident that actually occurred in our country's Marine Corps on July 4, 2011. This is an incident where a Marine confiscated a firearm and shot and killed a fellow Marine. In this accident, four unit members died and one was injured. Number 388 identified himself as Marine Corps Number 1140, which corresponds to the Marine Corps number he enlisted in in April 2011. (As of December 30, 2024, the Korean Marine Corps is number 1313.) The shooting occurred on July 4, 2011. If number 388 enlisted in April 2011, In terms of training period This means that he was involved in an incident and experienced the trauma of a shootout when he was a new recruit, less than a month after being assigned to the unit. It seems likely that content about this will come out when the third season of the drama comes out in 2025.
I mean isn't that pretty obvious that that guy literally was never in the marine to begin with and his tatoo is a fake ? lmao Like i don't know they're been showing obvious hints at that the whole season and trauma or not you can see definitely see that guy never hold a gun for a single second in his life
@@tunderdiamant8651 he is over the age of 28 which means he has had to undergo minor training either way . its easy to say he is a liar if you live in a country where enlisting is a choice. he avoided talking abount his time in the marines because he has trauma and he never wanted to go there his father forced him

@@tunderdiamant8651 I don't know... No. 388 will only be able to find out the truth about his service in the Marine Corps when season 3 comes out. However, I think it would be dramatically good to set the background that 388 was the 1140th Marine Corps and became traumatized after being caught up in that incident. It's just my prediction. For Koreans, it is very unlikely that 388 times in Korea, a conscription country, have not joined the military and have never shot a gun.
12:22 damn, 001 is literally seeing through gi hun's soul. Young il is like 'oh, so you said you are different. You came back to finish this game and save people, and this is the choice you make, huh? I knew it you are not different with me, with them'. Great acting. Tbh, I think that gi hun made the wrong decision, too. I do understand that gi hun can not save everyone in that situation, but he still had to find a better way to make his plan work. The blood of people in team X is on gi hun's hand now.. I do get it that gi hun is not perfect or has enough power. He is just another participant in that situation. There are definitely some shortcomings, but it is still understandable in some way.
I'm not sure what 001 would think about gi hun now. Will 001 find a possibility from gi hun by seeing him still trying to save people and humanity despite the lack of power, as oh young il? Or will 001 be disappointed in gi hun that gi hun doesn't make any better choice than himself, as frontman?
The biggest plot hole I realised is Gi-hun told everyone that you get killed playing this games only when everybody entered the reg-green light arena. He could have just told that earlier while everyone was signing consent that I have played this games before and you die if you lose.
Exactly ....when gi hun said that about sacrifice that's what frontman wanted him to say ,,,,,that you cannot save everyone and it's a small price to pay.....
I think this season was all about choices, like they showed us in the first episode, with the choice between bread and lottery. I think the Frontman hated Gihun for making a different choice than him. He had to prove Gihun wrong to validate his own original choice of accepting the games and even working with it. He didn't want to feel like he made the wrong choice, so he had to prove that Gihun was the one who made the wrong choice. And, for me, the Frontman "won" the minute that Gihun was ok to sacrifice his ally's lives "for the greater good". He went from "let's not leave anyone behind and let's try to save everybody" on the first game to "let's sacrifice a few to save the rest" which aligns with the Frontman's perspective of "let's sacrifice a few trash so that a few can live happily after with the money prize",
Daeho's Marine military number is the one that was in the middle of the Ganghwa Island Marine Comrade Shooting Incident that actually happened in South Korea. I suspect that he may be suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome from the incident
overall i am pleased with the 2nd seaso. it is rare for a show especially netflix that manage to reach expectation after a bmega hit of their first season.
I know viewers want more new games...but I think the writer is right on this point of not adding so much games as there will be no point of more characters dying like S1...and what Im enjoying the season is the characters are more stronger...and the writter letting alive almost the main characters
Tbh, If the organization was so easy to take down, then The Frontman would be a better candidate than Gi-Hun but the fact that an intelligent, strong and professional man like The Frontman, chose them over his own brother speaks volumes about the organisation!
The whole games are funded by wealthy oligarchs, so the real root are ppl are the VIPs who pay money to keep these games running and are able to give billions as prize money. So even if Gi-han could have possibly taken control he wouldn't be able to stop the games completely only temporarily put them on hold and even if he tired to expose the games they could buy out the media and twist the story making it look like a conspiracy or hoax and burn all the evidence and quietly take out all the witnesses including Gi-han. So they were all screwed from the start.
It makes sense the front man didnt make an effort to stop gi huns plan to snatch the soldiers guns. Usually its players vs players killing each other in the special game, but what would make it more interesting is if its soldiers vs players. He saw an opportunity......anything to entertain the VIPs. That is also why he entered the game probably. He has the mind of a writer/director.
@@85GauravSinghnothing really big I would say. It's just one more doll added in Red Light, Green Light. No context is given about what it's role is. Also, the new doll was a boy.
Gi-Hun : We need sacrifices for a bigger plan. He starts to think like a game master and make 001 "little" happy. 001 killed his best friend just to make sure he had fire and total revenge inside his heart.
I dont think he has ptsd. I think he was lying about being in the Marine. He didnt know how to handle a gun, he was blind firing. Most people that have ptsd believes they are still IN active combat and doesnt just cower away.
I think Daeho's cowardice had more to do with his father and his expectations from him, being born a son after 4 daughters. So I think he kinda lied about whole ex-Marine thing and when faced with the inevitability of gun-fight, he just buckled under the reality of death-blood.
Yeah I kinda agree with all of you. I just thought he was showing clear signs of PTSD but yeah being in the marine and not knowing how to use the gun makes no sense. Maybe he did lie to everyone
Yup. Gi-Hun neither thinks smart like him nor has good fighting skills. This season he just had money which made him powerful and he knew how to use a gun. If not he's the same as S1.
I think the Frontman is interested in Gihun motivation of stopping the game and save them all, because he also was part of it too. So he was either trying to understand or to get into his mind. Until Gihun said that lifes need to be sacrificed to stop the game, at that point Gihun become selfish and cares about stopping the game than saving all lives. You can see in 001s face it was like "okay I did my job"
did achara just predict a potential theory for daeho? what if he wasn't in the marines at all and had the tattoo to please his dad? all this time he could never have been part of them because he doesn't have the qualities or show the skills of a soldier. ptsd is one thing for sure, but even our trans character (i haven't gotten around to memorizing their names yet) still has her skills down to the t.
@Ashu-qp4up seriously vro he always talks about saving PPL and then he betrayed so many PPL if he listened to 001 the game is already over but no cuz 456 is the smartest guy 🤡 he let his teammates killed but his teammates tried to kill the opponent he is like no we are different 😂 mot#erfu#ke# what is wrong with you 🤣 imagine this guy is ur team leader 💀
Yes at the end of the day , he is no different I understand why he is the hero , bcz for him he believes in the greater good. Yet he will achieve it standing on the bodies of the X side people. So yes we all are trash in one or the other way. Thts what 001 realised
Gi hoon was playing it all by ear, his actual plan was the tooth tracking thing, his men swooping in and shutting it all down. He started to keep it close to his chest I think after what happened when he confessed he's done all this before. It made things worse.
minsu NEEDS to be eliminated. i was rooting for the girl also… i started to like her because she seemed like a genuine person.. sucks that she died like that
minsu is the guy who reflects normal, introvert, realistic human being,, many people in real life will do the same thing. As a word, we can fight against that situation and defend the girl, but in reality you know it’s really difficult to do that. btw minsu is a troll, hard to watch
@@윤동인-n6sall things included abt min su that you said but he's also some sort of coward which is also understandable but i wish he gathered than one ounce of courage and did better
@@윤동인-n6s yeah but at the same time, he should’ve been written off earlier, to show us that this entire game is for those who have strong mental. in reality, minsu wouldn’t have passed the red light green light. i’m just mad that he’s still surviving lmao. plus this character is not interesting at all
If anyone has watched the details from part 1 until now and looked at it from many aspects, 001 also has a painful past. Although the movie does not tell his story in detail, we can still know what kind of past he went through to make him become such a person. From the fact that he was the only and last winning player, then to the fact that his wife died due to a serious illness, it's enough for us to see that he really hates humans. From the moment he joined the game to win, it was the cause of his wife's death. So he decided to become a VIP after the game. I think everything happens for a reason. If we want to know what it is like, we have to watch the upcoming part 3 to know. I feel like he's a little pitiful, but that doesn't mean he didn't do wrong.
I just hope that they could have atleast warn the other Xs before the lights out. That's dumb decission to not warn them. I still love this season but that gives me the ick. Also, they could've get all the ammo from the dead soldiers first before going into war against the others.
Gi Hun said he wanted the people to die because after a certain number of deaths, the special game will stop and the guards will come, so he let them die and we can see the frontman confronting him making him repeat himself
I think that they should've check for the dead soldiers' pockets too before going to war as it is impossible to win it with little ammo and short preparation. I get that they wouldn't think all of it under their circumstances, I just wished they did.@@uriuruiru
@@disingenuously_denseI get that. I just don't agree with him in this. They could've warn the others so that they are able to defend themselves as Gi Hun and the others will not help them. There would be X members that could kill some O members too to get into a certain number of death. He just let them get slaughtered when some of them are able to fight and somehow even the number of deaths on both sides. He's already willing to sacrifice lives for the greater good, why not have his other allies be prepared and kill the Os during the lights out? I guess this shows that he isn't perfect and also makes dumb decisions that he will learn from in the future.
@@disingenuously_dense I get that but I don't agree with him this time. He already decided to sacrifice lives for the greater good, why not have his other allies kill the Os during the lights out? Some of them who aren't included in his close group can fight too and can kill but instead, he just let them be unaware, shocked and unable to defend themselves and get slaughtered. I guess this shows that he isn't perfect and still a little naive to think that he can win against the organizers of the game with his little team, no backup (his outside team haven't found him yet), and lack of preparedness and influence. Mistakes that he can learn from.

29:10 My comment contains secrets about dae ho. Don't read it if you want to wait to watch it yourself in season 3. . . . . . So some of korean viewers found this out: Dae ho claimed that he was a former marine. And he has marine tattoos, he likes to brag about it. Yet also, he tended to avoid the conversations when the topic of the marines came up. He even chose to do nothing when his team needed him back with magazines. He seemed traumatized. Dae ho said his class number in marine was 1140. Korean people searched about the 1140th class of ROK Marine corps, and they found out there was a shooting incident between soldiers in real history. It's known that harsh millitery culture and bullying within the ranks. Four marines, 4 young men died. It's such a tragic event... So, the director of squid game may have drawn inspiration from this devastating incident for the story. Actually it explains a lot about dae ho's behaving. On the other hand, i don't quite understand why Dae Ho mentioned that he is ex marine in the first place if he has a ptsd. I'd rather not talk to anyone that I was in Marine Corps if I was involved in that awful incident. Or not brag, at least.
Left his team to die without ammo. He could have returned and given the ammo and fucked off. But, he chose not to even deliver the ammo. Sure, he isn't a coward.
Maybe because something was hurting him but even his friends has given up and maybe if he went there maybe he was gonna even die somehow so that’s why he didn’t risk his life
@Watermeloncat_8346 Please read what you wrote and tell me how he isn't a coward? I agree with whatever you wrote now, and as per that description he is clearly a coward.
I’m sorry if I didn’t reply anything back for a while but if you think about it he is afraid of gun shots and also when he was using the gun he was aiming at any place and when he was gonna go there and give them the rest of the ammo and was hearing a lot gun shots he was basically afraid and didn’t want to risk it because any guard can come and just shoot him maybe that’s why he didn’t wanted to go there or maybe he has problems with guns shots
@Watermeloncat_8346 That's why he threw the walkie and didn't ask other teammate to collect the ammo? Different people react to trauma differently but to intentionally leave his team to die is a cowardly act. It was cowardly of him to throw the walkie without answering.
Here arises the question of whether the Frontman is in favor of harvesting organs from the eliminated contestants or, as in Season 1, simply indifferent and complicit in their existence. In Season 1, the Frontman deemed the organ-trafficking participants’ actions-such as leaking game information in exchange for assistance-violations of the game’s fairness. He executed both the involved guards and participants, hanging their bodies as a grim warning to others players and the soldiers. In Season 2, he confessed to Gi-hun, under his fake name Oh Young-il, that his wife had suffered from acute liver cirrhosis and desperately needed a transplant but ultimately passed away without receiving one. (Presumably even after he once won the game and came back alive with all the money) This implies that the Frontman carries the trauma of losing his dearest loved one due to the lack of an organ transplant. This begs the question: does he view the harvesting of organs from eliminated contestants, ostensibly to save lives, in a favorable light? Or does he hope to eradicate such practices once and for all at one point? This to me is an intriguing point to watch for in Season 3. This is because it is speculated that Guard 11, who seemingly did not actually kill the player with a sick daughter, might later seek the Frontman’s help to confront the Lieutenant
omg what you said is interesting.. till now I thought the front man is just indifferent to the whole harvesting thing.. as he said in S1 that he doesn't care at all about what the pink soldiers do with the organs of the dead players only that they messed with the game's fairness.. but yes there's a possibility that he may actually be in favour of harvesting becuz of what happened with his wife..
majority of westerners are saying that the fighting scene is rigged and how come Koreans in the drama are afraid of dieing inthe drama but when they start fire fighting they act like special forces? You gotta know that all Korean men go mandatory military for 3 years these days it has been shortened but the actors ages in their mid 40s and above were 3 years. It is not just regular military training like other countries but koreans train the most vigorous training in preperation for war! we host war games physical training to survive by beat downs. hell walks fot thousands of km, special martial arts to intend to kill and soldiers stationed near the dmz put their lives everyday in patrolling the dmz where constant booby traps mines claymores are hidden and detonated by the nk armies. Such training for war has made korean men so fierce in which when korean men after military service gets a brawl on the streets they try to kill each other so to prevent these happenings they rather call the police rather than bloodshed. Even our parents age intheir mid 70s and 80s knows how to fire a m16 and ak47. After military mandatory service, all men have to undergo national guard for 10 years in which they undergo shooting and war game exercises monthly. 41:26
It's such an irony that Dae-ho all the while kept boasting about his marine background turns out to be a such a coward in the end, while on the other hand Hyun-joo having decided to transition into a woman and almost half there still has more balls than than Dae-ho.. I loved Hyun-joo's character, how she depicts that strength and courage is not limited to one's gender and she still truly has a courage of a soldier that she once was ❤
I think you will find out the reason of dae ho's behavior in season 3. Korean viewers found out something and it's quite persuasive. And I think it will unfold in s3. But yes, it is not so satisfying story that dae ho got scared and ran away, whatever the reason he has, because many good fellas died in consequences.
I am Korean. Let me tell you a little bit of TMI. Hyun-ju is a character created based on a real person. In fact, a soldier who changed his sex was fired 4 years ago. She sued, claiming it was unfair, but she lost. In the end, she committed suicide.
Considering the director's intention to create the drama with the purpose of social satire, I think it will clearly contain some message about sexual minorities. And lastly, her name is Byun Hee-soo. May the deceased rest in peace.
Please achara and jaby koay I beg u guys to react to im siwan's one of the movies or dramas( crypto guy) he is one of the most versatile actors in korea and I am very disappointed by his character in squid game i thought he would be one of the better leads Here are my Recommedations Movies: The merciless, emergency declaration, unlocked Dramas : boyhood (my favorite), stranger from hell(thriller),summer strike (romantic),run on ( romantic) please please i beg u guys
Achara, the writer of Moving just released a new series in the same universe called Light Shop. It’s directed by the actor who played the PE teacher in Moving and tells the story of a lamp shop at the end of a dark alley, open late at night, where ghosts with their own stories come to visit. It seems connected to Moving season 2, which is rumored to be in production. You should check it out
Part of the reason why gihun didn't tell everyone was simply because if he did, the people who pressed x will be suspicious and likely look under the beds. So really technically, even though it's morally horrific, he did the right thing by not telling everyone.
I just read that the creator of Squid Game just revealed that Season 3 will take place after a time leap of 10 to 20 years after Season 2, so I am curious as to what are they going to do in season 3 if this is true🤔. This is what he said about Season 3 before the release of Season 2: "Season 3 of Squid Game will be set in 10 to 20 years in the future. It will be darker and sadder, but at the same time, it’ll also be quite humorous. This is where the real games will begin."
idk where you got that I just checked it starts after ep 7 so idk where you got the 20 years!??! (considering also s1 happened in 2020 s2 happens in 2024) so idk where you got the 20 years skip we gonna have flying cars?
Now I can tell that the Russian roulette scene between Gi-hun and the recruiter is a metaphor. it says the entire show is going to be about the conflict between two strong beliefs. a sort of 'ideal vs. reality' among two different winners. Overall, season 2 seems to be about Gi-hun turning into someone like the frontman who follows the reality, while season 1 is about Gi-hun turning into a righteous person questioning the reality. When Gi-hun justifies the sacrifice of others in order to take the gun, the subtle expression on the frontman's face seems to be the point of this season. I don't know if it's from disappointment or from contempt. Maybe both. But obviously it says "I won. Eventually you're just another hypocrite and trash." Yup! Like what Jady said, whole series reminds me the original Star Wars trilogy. New hope, Empire strikes back. I'm not sure if season 3 will be Return of the Jedi. It might be darker, given the reality I guess. Oh! and one more thing about the reality, for your information, There are two secens in each season where the mask of the pink suit is forcibly removed. "You are just a kid!" it stands for the reality that even so-called 'young generation' justifies their obedience to the rule. Just like the kids in the 'Snowpiercer', constantly being brainwashed that they can't survive outside of the engine. You can see a bunch of Korean kids and young RUclipsrs are mocking the squid game series and Gi-hun because they are on the side of the front man. hmm...funny and also sad. 😅
The music that plays in the end struck me hard because it sounds very similar to the track that played when Saebyuk died ;_; there's even a parallel of Gi-hun sobbing as he's being pinned down by the pink soldiers.
Idk, but for player 120(hyun-ju), we can't really predict if she'll be alive or not, she might be killed, cuz of her participation in the rebellion, but she also returned to the players room, but then the guards did too, so we don't actually know, if they let her live or not, but she can be alive too and given the chance to play games, cuz if we can clearly see how courageous and strong she is mentally, and how she acts like a guide in ep.7, the frontman might see her as competition and ambitous, and a potential to win, and let her play more games, but in the end, we'll know it in season 3. Also, if we are playing more games, so more deaths ofc, and till now, majority of main cast is alive, I think in s3, jun-hee(222) or geum-ja(149) will be killed, for some drama obv, becuz the deaths of both or any of them will be the most heartbreaking deaths in the whole franchise, it also becuz the games keep getting complex, making it hard for atleast one to live, but the deaths of myung-gi(333) and yong-sik(007) can be predicted through this, there might be a chance that these two males might end up getting killed protecting their loved ones respectively...people are saying front man might let 222 live cuz of his tragic backstory, but in s1 we heard his opinion on equality among players, so here also there's a 50-50 chance on 222's living status. Anyways looking forward to season 3, can't wait!!!!
Hi! I'm enjoying the drama because you introduced it well. I think it would be good to introduce the 'Sandglass' that appeared as Gi-hun's debut work as a bodyguard in Squid Game. It is a drama with an amazing record of 63% viewership.
Yongil could be the leader of the underground group that takes the organs, probably because of his past experience of his wife. The boatman is their cargo. Theyre probably against the vips but have to stay in the game and be the robin hood for organ donations
Idk why people are saying it's not good personally I liked season 2 yes it's different from season 1 because they wanted too it's not supposed to intense and emotional it's a build up season for the finale it's a mix of everything funny, emotional, thriller, intense in portions. I liked it but damn they left us in a cliffhanger
Man, I feel bad for those who died fighting. But I feel bad for Daeho too, he definitely has trauma and the way he flinched so bad and tried to cover himself when Hyun Ju reached for the ammo's breaks my heart.
29:50 just place yourself in that position and there are more than 10 soldiers in front of you , it might be you that will go for fight but at the end you will not win
it would be stupid to tell everyone to hide for the attack tho ... If the circle guys realize no one is in their beds of course at some point they're gonna realize people are hiding under their beds lol so their plan wouldn't work
The front man suggested they should attack first and win the vote. Now it seems that is the better way to save more people. gi hun’s idea sounds cool but is very risky since they don’t know how many pink guys were there. The front man might seem evil but he genuinely believe he is doing his best for those hopeless people.
The makers made such dumb decisions. They made Se-mi (she could have been a strong character in the future) gets killed by Nam-gyu (just a weak villain personality) and he survived. While Su-bong(Thanos: who could be a strong villain character in future) died. Big L 👎 to the makers for this.
obviously, 388 - Daeho has PTSD, he was forcefully sent to the MARINES because his dad thought he was too soft and too girly playing and always being around his sisters, all that gunfire probably brought back his trauma, and panic attacks. He is from Marine class 1140, he enlisted on April 18, 2011, and was discharged on January 17, 2013. During this period in South Korea, the Ganghwa Marine Corps shooting incident occurred, that's maybe why he was Flinching, shaking, and panicking. He's not coward at all, Let's all be thankful to him, coz 120-Hyunju is saved because of him... our 120 is our MVP for this season... And also the Mom she saved Hyunju for not continuing to fight. So sad that history repeats itself 456 friend (390 Park Jung Bae) are killed just like what happened in season 1 (67 Kang Sae-byeok and 218 Cho Sang-woo).
When Jung-Bae asked him how his mother let him in the marines, he kind of hesitated and thought for a sec. Makes me think he probably got a tattoo and never really went in the marines.
Okay, hear me out. I think it might be that it's somewhat of a tradition in the game for someone from the management to take part, and occupy the 001 spot, in every year's game. That would explain the old man (the host) taking part in the game three years back, who also had the 001 spot. Also the fact that the soldier at timestamp 20:43 stared at the frontman like that, because when you think about it, it wouldn't make any sense for an ordinary soldier there to know who the frontman is or what he looks like. But it would make sense if the fact that 001 is occupied by someone from the inside management every year is known among the soldiers too, which in turn explains why the soldier looked at him like that, because he knew he was looking at someone probably from the higher management level.
But that wasn’t an ordinary soldier recognizing him, it was a manager and managers are more than likely to know who or what the leader looks like. It would have been confusing why a worker or a soldier doesn’t know what Frontman looks like but the Managers are in charge of the control room. Knowing what their leader looks like guarantees that such leader, if they ever took part, would not be killed accidentally. Your theory may be possible but the only reason Il-nam took part in the games during S1 was to try and enjoy it fully because he knew well he was about to die. S2, Inho took part to prove a point to Gi Hun in terms of his beliefs and morals. Other management joining in would prove no point as their lives don’t hold much significance than those who really run the game (i.e. Il-nam & Inho) who both have ran or are running this organization.
S1, the old man went there for just fun and enjoying his last few days. He wouldn't have been killed anyways because everywhere the guns are shot by the soldiers manually and they wouldn't kill him. Here in S2, the Frontman went to learn more about Gi-Hun. The soldier who identified 001 was a square mask soldier. They are the highest tier of pink soldiers. Circle -> Triangle -> Square being the order. We also saw that when 011 was called the guy who brought her was a Square one and he saw the officer's face. So I guess every high-tier soldier has seen the Frontman's face.
@@BlueminSpring I mean I agree with what you're saying about why they joined the game, but I feel like this still doesn't invalidate my theory tho, let's see what they bring in for season 3
@@the3sided yah actually, didn't remember that part. Although the square guy who saw the officer's face could be because they were in on a different agenda other than the game, so maybe knowing who they are makes more sense for them. The thing is because they killed the pink soldier in season 1 whose face was revealed during the Dalgona game, I assumed that maintaining their identity a secret would be top priority among the soldiers and management.
@@musicalprithwi8833 That wouldn’t be a problem specifically for Frontman, I believe the higher your position is the lesser it is of a problem to take off your mask. As we have seen, those who took off their mask among the organization freely and got away scot free without any rules being mentioned were mostly either those in power or had their backing (i.e. Frontman & the Officer). The rule itself becomes vague when you are in power which is why the soldiers under the officer could freely taunt 011 because they know someone in power is backing them. The rule itself is meant to keep the workers, soldiers, and lower managers in check and not much the higher ups. This is because the higher ups have more power to control, keep in check, hide, or change how the rule can be done. Those squares (managers) who were killed because their faces were revealed were in the end just lower managers and not those in power like the Officer or the Captain.
pretty sure the entire show ends in a way gi-hun somehow replaces 001's seat, orchestrating other games afterward. and se.3 is gonna show the process of it.
Maybe he makes the game so that people don't actually die and are just eliminated. It's a weird thought, but who knows. But then I wonder where will he get money from, because I think VIPs are the ones who pay the money and they probably want to see death rather than normal stuff.
I'm so angry that player 280 died, literally broke my spirit, most of the characters died from a gunshot to the head or heart and she died with a fork in such a savage way, I can only imagine the pain. Why Squid Game? Why do you do this to me?
You might be wondering why Koreans are so skilled with guns in episode 7. Well, in Korea, all able-bodied men are required to serve in the military for two years. So, gun handling is a basic skill for many Korean men. If you look up the LA Riots, you'll find real-life examples of Koreans forming self-defense groups and using firearms to protect their communities. It's a testament to the resilience and resourcefulness of Korean people in the face of adversity."
lol these two are dumb, they didn't how frontman smile after gi hun said the plan of sacrificing X players, meaning gi hun can't pull his moral bs high ground hypocrisy anymore
If I am the captain or a game master, like in war games, letting all these occur is to find out if we can handle such incidents. It's a win-win because we have money to fix the damages and don't care about life. But from another perspective, I would also like to employ anyone from the other side of the fence who I can possibly build trust long term. Someone who can help continue the game.
for arcane... netflix is only a distributor so i don't think they have much of sa say on how long things should go i also had a problem with the pacing... which was the same for me as season 1. i had to watch some sections in 1.25 or 1.5 speed
I guess the frontman is wondering how come a guy who participated in the games, won it and went through a lot of trauma just like the frontman did and still sees the world in a positive way and fighting for right things whereas the frontman became evil. So he is curious about him.
I feel like the marine guy had PTSD from being in the marines because he said that his father forced him to be in it. I think he didn’t really want to be in it and/or had a bad memory of it, hence why the facade of him showing of his tattoo just so he can claim to be “marine”. If that makes sense. Maybe we’ll get the full story in s3.
54;43 Yes, this very much does have International/Western influence. A LOT of Netflix and a lot of new Kdramas especially targeted towards International audience are like that
The player who appeared as the father of the sick daughter might not have been killed by the triangular soldier’s gunfire, and I agree with this possibility. However, the triangular soldier in question (No. 11) has consistently demonstrated a pattern of immediately ending the lives of all eliminated players before. If she spares this particular player as the only exception, it would conflict with her established behaviors. I think this could lead to scrutiny from the harvesting soldiers, testing her faith or she'll likely have to sacrifice something to save another.

Right....
Because whenever someone died,,,, frontman was closely observing his expressions.....
The mom stopping hyunju is actually a lot better decision than her trying to kill as many as she could cuz its impossible, she'll get outnumbered and may actually put the other player in danger. This is just my imagination,
but the reason No.
(As of December 30, 2024, the Korean Marine Corps is number 1313.)
The shooting occurred on July 4, 2011. If number 388 enlisted in April 2011,
In terms of training period This means that he was involved in an incident and experienced the trauma of a shootout when he was a new recruit, less than a month after being assigned to the unit.
It seems likely that content about this will come out when the third season of the drama comes out in 2025.

I don't know...
Same thinking and also this is where 001 think no one is different and he needs to get back to his real job cuz everyone is a piece of $hit 😅
The biggest plot hole I realised is Gi-hun told everyone that you get killed playing this games only when everybody entered the reg-green light arena. He could have just told that earlier while everyone was signing consent that I have played this games before and you die if you lose.
@@AshishPatel-vy7mn omg that's right I didn't think about that

I think this season was all about choices, like they showed us in the first episode, with the choice between bread and lottery. I think the Frontman hated Gihun for making a different choice than him. He had to prove Gihun wrong to validate his own original choice of accepting the games and even working with it. He didn't want to feel like he made the wrong choice, so he had to prove that Gihun was the one who made the wrong choice. And, for me, the Frontman "won" the minute that Gihun was ok to sacrifice his ally's lives "for the greater good". He went from "let's not leave anyone behind and let's try to save everybody" on the first game to "let's sacrifice a few to save the rest" which aligns with the Frontman's perspective of "let's sacrifice a few trash so that a few can live happily after with the money prize",
Such a good take on the topic✨️
Daeho's Marine military number is the one that was in the middle of the Ganghwa Island Marine Comrade Shooting Incident that actually happened in South Korea. I suspect that he may be suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome from the incident
overall i am pleased with the 2nd seaso. it is rare for a show especially netflix that manage to reach expectation after a bmega hit of their first season.
Agree
I know viewers want more new games...but I think the writer is right on this point of not adding so much games as there will be no point of more characters dying like S1...and what Im enjoying the season is the characters are more stronger...and the writter letting alive almost the main characters
The guy who is playing min su is actually a vip in the squid game . He played vip 3 in season 1 . Actor David lee has played both the roles

So some of korean viewers found this out:
Dae ho claimed that he was a former marine.
27:44 he is not a coward just because he’s scared and afraid and there’s literally so many guards maybe even more than 456 players
Guys its simple he wanted to see how much gihun can play hero and to show how much it doesn't matter and what he is saying is wrong
While watching this broadcast, I was reminded of Upham from ‘Saving Private Ryan.’
That's so right. I'd totally forgotten about Upham. He was sent to grab ammo as well.

majority of westerners are saying that the fighting scene is rigged and how come Koreans in the drama are afraid of dieing inthe drama but when they start fire fighting they act like special forces? 41:26

I think you will find out the reason of dae ho's behavior in season 3.
Korean viewers found out something and it's quite persuasive.
And I think it will unfold in s3.
But yes, it is not so satisfying story that dae ho got scared and ran away, whatever the reason he has, because many good fellas died in consequences.
because Hyun-Jo is literally a MAN lmao cosplaying as a woman doesn’t make a MAN a woman lolz

Please achara and jaby koay I beg u guys to react to im siwan's one of the movies or dramas( crypto guy) he is one of the most versatile actors in korea and I am very disappointed by his character in squid game i thought he would be one of the better leads

This is what he said about Season 3 before the release of Season 2:
"Season 3 of Squid Game will be set in 10 to 20 years in the future. It will be darker and sadder, but at the same time, it’ll also be quite humorous. This is where the real games will begin."
If it is so, then what about the other people? Who wins the game or do they all die.
@@the3sided Yup that's the question for which we'll have to wait till 2025 to see what happens in Season 3.
idk where you got that I just checked it starts after ep 7 so idk where you got the 20 years!??! (considering also s1 happened in 2020 s2 happens in 2024) so idk where you got the 20 years skip we gonna have flying cars?
This is a misconception caused by misinformation. The work set 20 years in the future is a concept for the next project by the Squid Game director.
@@상승곡선가즈아 I read it on Koreaboo!
Eventually you're just another hypocrite and trash."
Yup!
Gong Yoo is the MVP of this season! 💀🗿He ruled it totally! 👑

Loved the review btw, really love listening to your thoughts and predictions. Makes me sleep without the headache of what's next.
Next season is coming up in next year and that's not too late.

It would make so much sense of Gin hu ends up becoming what he was trying to fight against, he should get recruited.
Nah most of the people will hate that decision. That would be the worst decision if they make Gi hun the frontman.
that would ruin the entire point of gihun's character
Loved you guys' reaction! I hope you stayed through the post credit scene

I think this is true. But I don't think they r against Vips
Not to mention the mental bedframes all around them that'll cause ricochet. Just spray, they said
awful plan, gihun thought that he is really the jedi master haha
it would be stupid to tell everyone to hide for the attack tho ... If the circle guys realize no one is in their beds of course at some point they're gonna realize people are hiding under their beds lol so their plan wouldn't work
16:38 that's a valid point by jaby but umm I guess bullet proof!
Dae-ho has clear signs of PTSD, and I felt bad that people keeps dismissing that.
Is it ptsd or was he just lying?
When Jung-Bae asked him how his mother let him in the marines, he kind of hesitated and thought for a sec. Makes me think he probably got a tattoo and never really went in the marines.
@@the3sided he said his father made him do it so he will become more manly . he cant fake enlisting its mandatory.
Yeah i also think s3 ending is Gihun becoming frontman of next squid game
Maybe he makes the game so that people don't actually die and are just eliminated. It's a weird thought, but who knows.
But then I wonder where will he get money from, because I think VIPs are the ones who pay the money and they probably want to see death rather than normal stuff.
That would be the worst decision by the makers and surely most of the people would hate that.
Its like netflix told them to not give conclusions to any plotlines, but it just makes the ending very weird and not make any sense
28:21 for a moment he really thought maybe they are different and that's why he saved them many times
Please don't miss Light Shop kdrama
If I am the captain or a game master, like in war games, letting all these occur is to find out if we can handle such incidents. It's a win-win because we have money to fix the damages and don't care about life.
But from another perspective, I would also like to employ anyone from the other side of the fence who I can possibly build trust long term. Someone who can help continue the game.
Vips come in the semifinals and final round.

Maybe we’ll get the full story in s3.
the other X marine basically had ptsd. thats why he was scared carrying a gun or hearing a gunshot
"If she spares this particular player as the only exception, it would conflict with her established behaviors."

I think she spares him and other dudes bring him to operation room and she will go there and kills them to save him
@@hannibunni47 Yes, I think that seems like a very likely possibility. However, it’s clear that she will have a hard time avoiding scrutiny from the other soldiers and the Harvester leader due to this seemingly contradictory action.
