- It is thought that the Gentiles are those who are not Jews; however, the Gentiles means nations and/or heathen. This was the terminology the Israelites used to generally speak of those who were not from the House of Jacob!

Sorry Coverly to add to your confusion. In the simplest form, Gentiles = Nations. This is the reference to all nations and peoples outside of the children of Israel. In times past we believed as many believe that Gentiles referred to the sons of Japtheth, who was one of the 3 sons of Noah. Hi brother, please do some research on there being 2 different "gentiles" being discussed in the word (the Northern Tribes & the other nations). Paul is referencing the Northern tribes who were scattered during other captivities and were not with the Southern tribe of Judah to receive the covenant. There are a few good breakdowns. The European term “gentile” has caused much confusion: it ought to NOT have been used in translation. Why? Well mainly because the Hebrew term “gowy(im)” by the Romans/English have been inconsistently mistranslated into three terms: gentile(s), nation(s) and heathen(s). The same exact Hebrew word now takes on three very different connotations through the European translations: we have confusion. Now, if we apply simplicity to proper translation, the Hebrew term of “gowy(im) become nation(s). Very easy. In the NT, the word “ethnos” is also inconsistently translated into people, nations and gentiles. See the confusion? The Romans also translated the term “Hellen” to both Greek and gentiles. Very inconsistent. We therefore recognize an incoherent and erratic method of translating terms: these changing the meanings of passages.
What must we do to solve this “gentile” confusion? Simple remove them from the law and the testimonies, and instead apply the term “nation(s)”. Confusion solved.
The term Nation(s), a more straightforward and clear translation, demonstrates that we are living in the times of the nations.

Perhaps the confusion was "gentiles" vs "Gentiles"? I was just wondering. In Genesis 10:5, Gentiles is capitalized, so in deed, it was the specific nations/regions. Then in English dictionary use "gentiles" as people who are not Jews. In reality, Jews have derived from Judah, one of the tribes of Jacob/Israel. Well, God's way is always simple and easy, but humans make it to confusion and complicated, that was my opinions.

The book of Jubilees chapter 16 says Abraham had 6 more sons after Isaac and that these were the Gentiles. I think we need to look at the original text for both this book and the Bible to see if they mis translated. They both can’t be right unless they were grafted together as one people. But I think it makes sense that they may be Abraham’s seed based off of verses in the New Testament regarding some people saying they are Abraham’s seed
The Gentiles are the nations other than the 12 tribes of Israel; this is why even Abraham's seed of Esau, Ishmael, and the others from his concubine are considered Gentiles!
Elder Ishe that is what people say all the time yes, but where in the Bible does it make that clear that that is the case. In Jubilees they make it very clear who the Gentiles are and even prophecy concerning them and this time. The Gentiles are Europeans many of them mixed with Japheth. It makes sense because they say this is the time of the Gentiles. Who is running things now, it’s not Africa, it’s not Asia, it’s the Europeans. The Africans and Asians already had a connection with God. It was the Gentiles who were very wicked in past times and seemed impossible to save, but God showed that even the Gentiles could be saved too.
@@stacieellis I hear and understand you Stacie, but here is where my mind began to change from my old idealogy (Gentiles are the sons of Japheth) and into where I position now. First, Africa and Asia house many of the children of Israel by way of the captivity and those who fled there.
Typically, when we say Africa, biblically speaking we are thinking of Ham, when we say Asia, we are thinking Shem, and Europe we’re thinking Japheth. Generally speaking, but we know that is not the case all the time.
Now when Jeremiah was a prophet being sent, he was sent to the NATIONS!

What do we have, Jeremiah was sent to the nations and he went to Egypt, Palestine (Philistines), Moab, Ammon, Esau/Edom, and Babylon.
Are these Gentiles or a mixture of Shem and possibly Ham in the form of the Philistines, and certainly Ham in Egypt?

BTW in Jubilees 16 Stacie, it says his additional sons would be GENTILES and "reckoned" among the Gentiles, but his seed Isaac would not. This supports that not only Japheth is the Gentile, but all nations from Genesis 10 would be Gentiles. Does this make sense?

Not exactly. Gentiles point to a specific family from among the children of Noah. Noah had Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Japheth is who was also considered the Gentile. See Gen 10:1-5, and compare the sons of Japheth to the description of the sons of Ham and Shem.
Japheth, Ham and Shem (Israelites at a point) are all referred to as Gentiles. Genesis 10 calls Japheth, Shem and Ham goy/gowy "nations". Jeremiah 46- 49 shows that Hamites are gentiles and James 1:1 in conjunction with the New Testament prophets (ex. John 7:35) shows that the scattered Israelites are also or were Gentile. John was sent to Samaria which is the capital of Ephraim (Northern Tribe) see also John 4:12

Also you will see that the translators put "gentile" in some places and "nation" in other parts. Also, in the New Testament you will also see the word Hellene which is referring to the Lost Sheep...Israel.
I ask this question, when did all of Israel become Jews? Keeping in mind that the Kingdom was divided in 2 because of Solomons' sins in marrying strange women. When you understand this you will have to ask yourself what does it mean to the Jew first and then to the Gentile? What happened to the restoration/re-unification of the Kingdom of Israel?

This is the part of the bible that is contradictory. Matthew 15:24 and Amos3:1 suggest otherwise. Over and over in the bible it says that T MY only deals with his nation and that he does not know other nations.
Paul was sent to Europe not Ghana. He witnessed to the same people some bible titles are named after not Negroes. Titles such as Romans, Greeks (Corinthians) And Western Europeans (Galatians) in Gaul (modern day France) they were called the Galatians or Celts not Negroes. I’m glad to see you don’t say white people are cursed and going to hell.. my question is what laws did Jesus fulfill and what laws do we have to follow? I have turned away from sin and drive to uphold everything commanded in the NT. However, Ive had people tell me we have to keep all the old laws. Everyone says something different.
This is all, totally in error! The scriptures are being misquoted & also, in doing so, they're being misinterpreted. The word of God says we are not to add or take away a single word from the Bible otherwise we'll be in danger of His wrath & we could be cursed... This what I tell people all the time. You also have to look at Paul (Apostle to the Gentiles) and where he traveled (Rome, Greece, and Asia minor). The Book of Jasper also states that Esau and Ishmael will be reckoned (included) with the Gentiles (can't find the verse right now).
I've concluded that Ham's lineage aren't included because they were mixed in among Israel (Ethiopians (Moses/Solomon), Egyptians (Joseph), Canaanites) and so on. Ham was always called the stranger among you.
Alot of today's Arabs are a mix of Japheth and Ishmael - Ham and Japheth and so on just like the Latinos who've only existed 500 yrs and look very similar to Arabs.

There is no absolute way to know who are those to be restored by outward appearance. The only thing we can do is preach the word. God will call those chosen and they will receive the Holy Spirit. When they receive the Holy Spirit they will know. To those who have ears let them hear.

So boohoo to all the people who do not want the lord to offer salvation to all because he DID. Any time you see gentile in the New Testament please replace it with NATION.
