Awesome job Rambler... This was a wonderfully complete and extremely well executed video.. I loved it!! Thanks for sharing for those who missed being there..
Great video! I'm glad that you chased it. Unfortunately, I had work from 7:30AM to 3PM. So I couldn't chase it heading north and much of it heading south. However, I did show up just in time to see the train cross Washington Avenue in Utica, NY at 4:41PM. I have a video of it.
Longest train I have seen on the Adirondack RR. I was able to catch it as it was pulling into Utica. I was set up at the last crossing before coming back into the station (Same location that 611Anime was set up at - you can see me in his video when he pans over to film the last car. I am wearing the reflective vest.) filming for C. Fox Railfan Productions.
You did a great job, and your driver did a great job getting you to very good spots. I was the one driving the KIA Sorento, and we were just South of Thendara together getting that departing shot. I was able to get it coming thru Otter Lake. But you did such a good job I may not even upload mine. As an old timer, have to ask my son how to upload the video and put titles in it. On Friday, I caught it at a couple of places coming into Geneva, NY. They made up over 2 hours of lost time. Then on Saturday, chased it from Geneva to Solvay, NY. It was great to see all that private varnish. Good luck railfanning in the future. Check out our Finger Lakes Live Steamers, videos as well. Thanks for sharing your video with the world. Dave
Thanks Dave. We've chased the Adirondack scenic a few times so we have our favorite spots worked out in advance- which always helps. Thanks for the kind words- good luck with your rail fanning too!
A lot of nice vintage equipment!! I love the Georgia 300!!

Hi, Rambler and I were both on the chase this year and at some of the same spots. Glad you liked the video.

Awesome sight ! Nice catch. Really sorry I missed it.
Well done, for a special occasional excursion I thought it will never happen again, but anyway well done Amtrak and AAPRCO for making this possible.
Yes- we agree. Thanks for watching!
Great shots, just out of curiosity where was the first shot taken at the very beginning of the video?
Thanks! The first shot was at the Amtrak station in Utica.

Thanks for watching Colton. It was cool seeing all the cars and having Amtrak on the line as well.
Good video. I'll be chasing from Rutland to Bellows Falls on the 22nd.
Thanks for watching! Good luck on your chase.

This is supposed to be a scenic trip?? Look quick or you'll miss it
No more, unfortunately, courtesy of Amtrak's inane policy to stop future private excursions.
