Thank you for the nice video. You may want to correct. "Ostan" is a Iranian suffix and word that in Persian means "Place" or "Province" and it is not Turkic at all. Kazakhstan in Persian means a place where Kazakhs are. These territories from Siberia to Hungary had been Iranian territories where Iranian tribes mainly Iranian Scythians, Sintashta, Amazons.... lived. When the Iranian tribes left and went mainly to the West and South to present day Iran they left significant artifacts and burial grounds that had been used by these Iranian tribes for thousands of years before any Turkic tribes set foot in them. Today you will find thousands of burial mounds of Iranian tribes (in Russian they refer to these mounds as "Kurgan". The Iranian mounds are very similar to other Aryan tribe mounds you will find in Germanic tribes locations (Ex: Sweden) and contain similar artifacts. These mounds were not created by the forefathers of the current [Turkic and Mongoloid] people who presently live in the beautiful country of Kazakhstan. Russians have caused a great deal of harm by destroying significant cultural and historical Iranian [Aryan] people who lived in the southern parts of Soviet Union and they have tried to erase the cultural, ethnic and even linguistic connection of the Iranian people from these lands since under socialism they were attempting to create a new people "Soviet Citizen" a product of Marxism & Leninism, as if the history of these place started with their version of Socialism. This exploitations of anthropological history was necessary to ensure people do not band together around their ethnic, religious, linguistic centers of gravity; there could be only one center under Soviet worldview and that was of a Socialist center. So, you may want to correct your words Istan or Ostan (formal) is a Persian word widely used by Iranian tribes. During the Russo-Iranian wars from early 1800 since Iran had become economically and militarily weak, Iran lost about 40% of its territories (Ostans) to Tsarist Russia and out of those lands Russians started to name them after their present people who live in these places. In some areas after the 1917 communist revolution the communists started to intentionally name places based on their political aims of planting the seeds of future conflicts and tensions; this was done specifically by Stalin. And today, you can see the conflicts that Stalin planted in Ukraine, Armenia & Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan & Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and many more. The Communist party of Soviet union wanted to make sure these territories are kept busy with their conflicts and exhaust their energies on infighting instead of banding together and fight their true enemy the Communist Party, of Soviet Union. To set the record straight, anthropologically speaking Iranians are Aryan and made up of various tribes, they migrated from Europe to territories south of present Romania, Ukraine, and Russia. Some of the Iranian tribes went further south to present day India and Iran. The word Iran means land of Aryans. Calling Iranians Persians is something that uneducated people of the West started. Iranians have always called themselves Iranians and this written i Iranian poetry and rock carvings and historical monuments established by various Iranian kings. Iranians like other Aryan tribes (like Germans, Swedes, Norwegians are people of oral traditions and they preserve their histories in their poetry that is memorized and passed on from one generation to the next. The Iranian Epic Book of the Kings "Shahnameh" in Persian language is the longest poetry of mankind (50000 rhyming couplets) that describe the Iranian history. Some of the Iranian tribes have more examples in their Narts. Very similar to records of various Germanic tribes' Poetic Eddas; except the Iranian Shahnameh are several thousand of years older and there had been older Shahnames that have been destroyed during various wars and natural disasters.

    Some corrections:
    1. 01:05 -- No, the name "Kazakhstan" does *not* come from a "word in the Turkish language". Modern Turkish (Anatolian Turkish) is a relatively recent language, and its predecessor, Ottoman Turkish, only dates back to the medieval era. The word "Qaz", upon which "Kazakhstan" is based, is an ancient *Turkic" word. "Turkic" refers to an entire category of ancient languages spoken as long ago as the 8th century CE; at least 600 years before Ottoman Turkish was spoken. So, while Modern and medieval *Turkish* are both *Turkic* languages, they are only two of _many_ Turkic languages.
    2. 01:24 -- "From the first century to the eight century the Turkic people launched many attacks on the nomadic ethnic groups in the region".
What ethnicity were those "nomadic ethnic groups in the region"? There _was_ no uniform ethnic group in what is today Kazakhstan; there were many different ones, spanning from northeast Asians (what we might think of today as Mongolians) to Uyghurs to Huns to Scythians to various Iranic groups. The Gokturks took over within the timeframe mentioned, and subsumed all of the different groups.
    3. 01:34 -- "Hence, the origin of the name 'Kazakhstan' has roots in ancient Turkish."
"Turkish" and Turkic" are NOT the same thing! (Nor are "Kazakhs" and "Cossacks", in case you were wondering.) See above.
    4. 01:42 -- the vast majority of the people you describe as having "migrated" to Kazakhstan in the 19th century, did not do so voluntarily; most were forcibly resettled there by various Tsars, or were the result of various waves of "Russification", intended to displace or dilute established ethnic groups.
    5. 05:50 -- Kazakhstan doesn't "possess a space-launch facility". The Baikonur Cosmodrome is owned and operated by Russia which pays Kazakhstan $115 million USD per year to lease the land it sits on.
    6. 08:15 -- The capitol is not called "Nur-Sultan"; it is "Astana". It was only called "Nur-Sultan" for less than 3 years.

@@aikosha4864 The Dzungar clan did agree with becoming Khan in exchange with helping eliminate the Kazahk. Those are historical facts very easy to research on it.
Those you call "Mongols" did came in contact with Han later.
Attila did came much later in history. BTW, the description we have had of the "Hun", is not only wrong but biased on their enemies "tales". They lost the last battle with the Roman empire on the Catalonian fields.
The Romans did not have any direct contact with China until the East Roman Empire send a diplomatic delegation to the Tang empire in the highest moment of the dynasty.

In fact "Stan" doesn't mean land, but country. As it comes from old Eastern Iranian, and means "camp". It is still used in Russian for camp to these days. Ancient Iranians, just like Turks later were nomads, and thus their country was, where their camp (people) was. Even today there is an expression in Kazakh language "Kazakh el" when describing Kazakhstan, which means "Kazakh people", not "Kazakh land". Today people mostly don't live nomadic lifestyle anymore, but the language still reminds us of the past.
