This brings back memories of my dad bringing me to the arcades to play this game. Arcade is always an luxury to lower income kids and I played this game a lot when I was a child since I can actually last 5 minutes to the middle of the game as a 10 year old 30 years ago. Great times and Great game !
I loved this game as a kid, the only place I've played it was in the arcade at Fleetwood Pier, it was good to see the ending, after 35 years. I could only get halfway through the game
Im here for exactly the same reason,iw as 13 when this came out bunked off school too play it,and i could not remember the name untill i found a list on steam and got everyone to help me and today im here...with a smile on my face now this is what you call game play it was so damn hard to get to superman with out touching any cars let alone GOAL which also i think was the first coin op to have a Goal at the end...
It is good to know that this game, especially this arcade version is available for Switch, and it is still a challenge to complete even the first race.
I'm more concerned about 400km/h *car.* Fun fact: Apparently, in this game you're driving a Chevrolet Corvette (model C4, I assume, as that was the latest model as of game's release). Real life Corvette C4 has a max speed of 224km/h - 288km/h depending on engine variant.
seems to be a very good ame for the year 1984. 1983 the NES came out in japan. I guess that was a huge plot twist when it came to game development. More rich graphics came out.

The nes version was just a demo...
The version of the NES (and MSX), what it lacked was "opponents", it was only to avoid the "cruel" traffic and arrive before the gas ran out.
