Come along for a quick spin first impressions drive of ‘s Mazda's lightly refreshed 2024 ND3 RF Club in Zircon Sand Metallic. Exterior wise there are some slight tweaks with new headlamps, tail lamps, wheel design and a new color called Aero Grey. The interior get an updated 8.8" display screen with available wireless Apple CarPlay and Android auto....and its a touch! Mechanically there are suspension tweaks, a better rear differential, and new steering rack. Mazda is rewarding its loyalists by tweaking perfection. #savethemanuals #mazda #gr86 #brz #minicooper
Apparently the benchmark of 2 seat roadsters is the Miata mx5, so I had to try one to see what all the hype was about, I drove a recent 2020 with 40km. With 181hp. It was one of THE WORST cars I ever drove. And I'm extremely picky when it comes to a cars performance. At 6 1, it was way too small, my right knee was always pressed hard on the sideboard, seat did not go back enough, cheap interior, tiny tiny trunk, half of that of the roadster mini, sloppy steering, and rwd did nothing to enhance the drive. My expectations were sky high given how many videos compare the mini roadster and Miata and overwhelmingly people choose the Miata, I'm completely dumbfounded. It is what it is and I know how both cars feel. The roadster mini is comparable to the Porsche and Ferrari I drove, slow speed handling, if the mini roadster had like 400hp and all wheel drive to eliminate torque steer it would be almost virtually super car level.
Thanks for watching. We just had an RF for a week of testing and that video is out now. The Miata really does not work for those 6’ and over. As far as driving, I can say the first couple of drives left me underwhelmed. It was only after some extended drives did the I begin to appreciate the light weight and rear wheel driving dynamics. All the best and happy motoring.
Sorry to hear this man...if you have a long torso it definitely won't work. I'm 6ft2in 190 lbs and with the club RF, the seats are deep enough and can go back enough that it works out in my case luckily. But I know if I had a longer torso I would've been screwed. The soft top gives you a few more inches if need be, but the RF is really what makes this car special for me
I’m a touch over 6’ and dubious as to whether I’ll fit, but I’m booking a test drive. The attraction of the MX5 is that it is rear wheel drive and so on. I had a Mini several decades ago when they really were mini and it was great fun to drive, very good go kart like handling, but still not what I would call a drivers car due to having the steering and drive at the front. Too much power all you get is under steer, and the only remedy is reduce the power. Not much fun.
@@Tailspin80 well I have a mini coupe and the handling is bar none and I've driven Porsche 911 turbo, sure the 911 is faster and better overall but not that much when you consider it cost 30x the price.....it's insanely expensive compared to my mini, the mini is still more fun to drive, the value is in credible, I don't notice it being fwd that much, the 911 is AWD and my x3m comp is AWD, but I take my mini and my x3m is collecting dust most of the time it's just such a great fun drivers car for me. It works for me, some people love oranges and some hate them, there is no right or wrong here just personal tastes.
Beautiful car👍🏻

Tweaking perfection sounds like a risky proposition.
@@cbotten106good point….maybe ‘tweaking near perfection’. 😂
Does it have a 12V accessory socket?
It does. But it’s up in the passenger side footwell. Thanks for watching.
@@BeyondTheTestDrive I appreciate the quick response.
What does RF mean
Thanks for watching and for the question. It stands for retractable fastback.
