I had to edit the map file in notepad to turn it to night. Open the zip file then open WF16Freestyle.terrn. Copy "sandstormcubemap map/skyline" just above the "end" line. This doesn't always work though and might break the map.
I'd recommend posting on Sim-Monsters for help, they would know more about your issues with the game than me. sim-monsters.com/index.php?/forum/23-help-and-support/

1080p, 8x FSAA, Anisotropic Texture Filtering, Sandstorm Sky, Stencil Shadows, Basic Water, No Vegetation.
Particle Systems: Engine Smoke, Heathaze, Custom Particles.
Cockpit Options: Mirrors, Dashboard
Visual Effects: HDR, Skid Marks, High Quality Effects.
I get around 250 fps using these settings.
