Heel jammer dat het in deze versie nooit meer te horen was op de radio. Mooi dat ik hier getuige kon zijn als kijker. Niet elk TV moment is verloederd en gelukkig kunnen we bepaalde momenten van kwaliteit terugkijken op RUclips tegenwoordig.

Beste song die perfect tot z’n recht komt door de hoogwaardige opname met super microfoons. Daarbij de echte Steinway vleugel en alles komt tot z’n perfectie. Helaas daarna nooit meer gehoord op die manier. Dit is de absolute top.

I missed out on this series because I lived abroad at the time, but as much as Maaike's song "Dat ik je mis" made me cry a few weeks ago coming across it on RUclips, Michaels "Close to you" hit me like a ton of bricks. Unrequited love is, in my opinion, the worst form of love there is, and this song in all its beauty exactly tells you why. It happened to me: I hopelessly en desperately fell in love with this sweet and lovely girl, but while she was quite fond of me, there were no feelings beyond friendship from her side. I understood and accepted it, but it still hurt like a MF...

Wat blijft dit toch een fantastisch heerlijk nummer, gewoon als je ff lekker wil janken, bij het luisteren van dit nummer komen de emoties vanzelf.
Ik ben een enorme muziekliefhebber en zoek al jaren naar hét ultieme liedje, met gevoel, de juiste stem en melodie ... op dit moment kan ik geen mooier lied dan dit verzinnen. Ik luister het al de hele week en krijg telkens kippenvel. Ik zal niet zeggen dat deze jongen moet winnen, maar dit lied is in ieder geval niet te evenaren! PRACHTIG!
