I like to think that during the whole thing, the trio were sent far enough back to were starved can’t do anything to change things.
While Sonic’s taunting the two of them, he’s slowing changing the future to the point it’s fixed. Once it is, that’s when Sonic decides..”Alright, that’s enough. Time to wrap things up.”, busts up both furnace and the egg mobile, and heads back to the present.

Since Sonic changed the timeline, Starved lost the time stones so sonic can transform,
Due to starved having no time stones, sonic went to the future (if he didn't die.)
During fight or flight, sonic's dead body dissapears and the sonic that is alive
Is able to help tails kill starved, due to the burnt flaky, sonic burns the rest of it so nobody will
Eat it.
Edit: instead of burning the flicky, sonic reverses time before eggman got defeated in sonic 1, sonic spared eggman and they became friends.

@Azoz Alenezi First off, yes, the animation of Sonic talking before his transformation was rigged. Second, Dai is another sprite animator who did the Prey but if it was a bossfight animation and did some of the animation, such as the Furnace headbutt and in other videos, she helped with some other stuff.
