- Here is part 2 of an episode of the Sally Jessy Raphael Show featuring Carol Burnett. Garry Moore, who gave Burnett her break by hiring her for his variety show, appears via satellite in this part and part 3.
I believe this is Garry Moore's last appearance on TV. He passed away in 1993, and this show is from around 1990.
Imagine being 75 years old, missing part of your speaking apparatus, and still being able to flawlessly entertain a studio audience remotely from the other side of the country. Garry Moore was a hell of a broadcaster.
Gary Moore was one of the best liked and most generous guys in the business.
In this wonderful clip, Gary Moore speaks eloquently about the "cruelty" of auditioning. And, boy, is it great to see that he retained his sense of humor and charisma. I love it when he talks about "the formaldehyde corner" when speaking about LOVEBOAT. Good for Gary that he didn't go on the show!

and sounds great too despite his operation
The only other tv appearances that he did were.."CBS:On The Air!"..and"The Second Annual TV Hall Of Fame Awards"..this maybe..Gary's last tv appearance.
Sadly ironic that on the early game shows,he had to promote different brands of cigarettes. On I' ve Got A Secret, he was shown with a lit cigarette with the smoke wafting around the guests,even children!! Cartons of cigarettes were given as prizes!!
despite the operation, he sounds good to me!
looks good. But sound worse than earlier. I think he was dying here. Looks so skinny upper body. Legend in his own time
