I just switched from a KX-350 to a KH965i with a KR830. I haven’t put the ribber on yet b/c I’ve been a bit intimidated. I wish I could have a friend come over and walk me through it, but this video is a great second-best option. Thank you for sharing!

Lady’s it was fun watching you two. I yelt: use the barrels, and use two arms, you are going to have muscle pain after a day. Have fun making things not to difficult. It is a nice hobby. 😊😊😊😊

Appreciate the first project/intro to the LK150 videos, more of these type videos would be nice for Brother std gauge models and the 260 that so many of us have

I'm jealous of your ability to find knitting machines. Nothing ever comes up on the used market locally, and I don't trust anything on eBay, where "untested" is a euphemism for "broken", and "tested working" means "overpriced and still probably broken in some way".

Try contacting your local guild, some of them have buy and sell mailing lists.

I’m leery of knitting guilds a lot of them have a “repair” person or dealer who stakes out people who are giving away machines or pounces on deals only to market it up…it’s bad in certain areas (SoCal is my personal experience). Like they have snaked in on a machine I’ve tried to buy only to try to resell it to me at 5x. The prices have gone up quite a bit since the pandemic but don’t be discouraged. The prices on eBay skew what people think the machines are worth and what they actually go for by about 4 to 10 times. And you are right don’t buy on eBay from overseas they are scams they will appear cheap and then slam you with shipping and customs charges. Also don’t buy just a bed and have to buy a carriage that is a nightmare. Make sure you look and know what you are getting and if you do need it shipped have them ship the machine wrapped in a box and have them ship the weights separately in a usps priority flat rate box, because those weigh a lot and make the oversized machine box price go up dramatically. I should probably note my partner teaches machine knitting at a university so I’ve have to find a lot of machines over the last decade. Lots of fun searching estate sales, guilds, fleamarkets, craigslist, eBay.

@@KnitFactoryImpl no luck. I don't have a dedicated machine knitting guild nearby. The local spinning and weaving guild ignored me. There's a listing relatively nearby on Facebook marketplace teasing me. They don't have it anymore but haven't taken the listing down.

It took me awhile to realize that the mast is supposed to be reconfigured when you switch from the knitting bed to the ribber on the Brother machines. (You turn two bits around so the angle at the base tilts toward you, rather than away.) I'd skipped over that in the ribber instructions because I thought, hey, I already know how to set up the mast. But it really does help to make those adjustments. At a minimum, you don't need as much space behind your knitting machine.

Thank you for this description, I keep getting confused which way around it's meant to go and the manuals don't help my confusion! Your description helps.

I love your videos! I'm very new to knitting machines. I just got mine a few weeks ago and your videos have been soooo helpful. I have a ribber but I'm still getting used to using the flat bed. Are you able to do a video and pattern for socks using just the flat bed?

52:43 I was thinking about making ribbing for projects, and the even better way so there's not raw edges of just making the piece to size! I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what I should make it out of though.

4:18 could you please share dimensions and photos of the ribber cover? I'm not 100% sure what it should look like, but my husband has a 3D printer so hopefully we can print some.
