Its actually cool that these two songs seem pretty in sync for much of this mash-up; even the parts that seemed out of sync seemed to work. I bet if Phil Collins (or even Genesis for that matter) pulled their resources with Disturbed, they could make one kickass rock duet for the ages.
I just realized why I like this version so much: meshed up, the two compliment each other so much in a way that alone, each version seems incomplete, especially in the bridge and the instrumental following the bridge.
I love Genesis, and it's one of my favorite tracks of theirs, but could never make it through the Disturbed version. FINALLY you made it listenable! Nice job!
@@gatolocoverga152 To be precise, the music was written by Banks, Collins and Rutherford as a group like all the Genesis songs from that period, the lyrics were written by Rutherford.
@@gatolocoverga152 Ummm, no. Land Of Confusion is literally credited to all three as composers, and Mike as the sole lyricist. They have also talked about this in multiple interviews: In the 80's and early 90's one guy would write the lyrics and the music would be written by all three. From their 1983 album onwards nobody had any stuff before the recordings, the songs came to fruition during jam sessions where everybody contributed ideas.
@princessbeffer That was the upside. I wanted to mention this, but I forgot before. The two guitars are a little rough around the edges, but nothing you can really do about that. They still synch well. I'm just surprised how well the voices synch.
@RomaniXanadu I know what you mean, but when I finally listened to Disturbed's all the way through, I heard added harmony at 4:20 in Disturbed's version.

"Disturbed or Genesis?"
"Yes"

3:09 I am in love with this bit
That was the most mind-blowingly eargasm-inducingly epic thing I've ever heard in my entire life.
I love it! My dad loves the Genesis version, My bro loves the Disturbed version, but I'm in FREAKING LESBIANS WITH THIS VERSION!!!
Funny reference
The lovely human being that combined both versions is a G E N I U S !!!
When it comes Mashups this is by far my second fav that I listen to daily
Genesis or Disturbed, This song will always be f*cking Awesome!

I was so torn between the two, THANK YOU!
this is what genesis and disturbed band mashup is supposed to be for example and I'm telling all search engines and social media about this.
Can't you see this is a land of some fusion?
I found this video after looking up the definition of "flawless victory" in the dictionary.
Absolute!!

1:50 Best part
This is a better mix than the last one i heard
Come on, this is fucking awesome!!!
I love the palm muted guitars on the verse, but I also love the moog dow dows...problem solved!
Phil Collins should appear as a surprise guest at a Disturbed concert
It was written by bassist guitarist of genesis Mike Rutherford

@soupfan1 I agree, except from 2:32 to 3:30, it needs both background versions. They just compliment each other so well.
This is perfect.

Great Job,,,can you do the same for Bad Company by Bad Company and Five Finger Death Punch ?
You’d have to change the pitch.
Sounds great

Nice.
Awesome!!!
Genesis is prog, Disturbed is metal. That's exactly like comparing Dream Theater to Metallica.
@Vortiac- Disturbed is not and never was "Nu Metal," or if they were, they left the genre behind 20 years ago.
Progressive Metal!
