I've run a construction business previously but it wasn't for me, I may revisit that later on seeing as that's where I have the most experience and knowledge, but right now I think I'll focus on writing (I've always been an excellent writer) and video editing. I'm very much interested in fields that have a high demand but low supply

Fantastic video as usual, Gillian! Thank you! I love that you included coding. The problem is that many people want to earn a lot of money very fast, but don't want to learn anything new, grow as a person, invest their time. That's the chance for determined and hardworking people. 💪

Great list, Gillian. Thank you so much for this good input. It would be great though to get more detailed information on the mentioned freelance jobs, e.g. would you consider a SEO-writer to be a copywriter? Which variations of audio engineering are there and where/how can one learn the necessary skills etc. Maybe you could make several more videos in which you go into more detail on those various groups of income opportunities. That would be wonderful and very helpful.

Adrian, your willingness to learn and upskill is great and already a step forward. My advice to people who are just starting is to try more types of activities / services before making a full commitment. You need to choose something that truly inspires you, that you naturally enjoy doing and for which you don't need external motivation (I call this understanding your WHAT and your WHY). And then you can invest the time and energy into proper upskilling. However, make sure you avoid "dabbling". A bit of this and a bit of that is not ideal either. This is just appropriate for your to test and get a sense of what each service is like. Once you do, your full commitment is key. Hope this helps and best of luck.
Great video BUT you need to know that skilled blue collar work pays well. I personally know welders, electricians, pipefitters, and HVAC people making at least 6 figs and pay keeps going up.

Vending massage chair is very profitable and low entry costs and have the ability to scale over time. The average cost of one vending machine is $1000 to $2500, which means that two would cost you as much as $5000.
Hello Gillian, that was a pretty concise information on 13 w@h jobs with higher pay. Honestly, i am not sure if I am good fit for any of the 13. They all sound like most of them require some previous experience and possibly a college degree as well. Thank you though for taking the time to film this informative video. Hope you and you dear family are doing well at home.
Love Gillian’s videos! I could share a lot about highest-paying jobs in IT (which I do, on my channel 😁), and how to actually start with the IT profession. These are nice, though! 👍 Thank you for the video 🥰
IT is a fraud - outsourced and underpaid, there is no way to make a living at it. Living project to project, until it's outsourced to India. Take the next job, lower pay, then it's outsourced again and everyone is out the door (again.) Stay out of IT. Been doing this for 21 years now and I'm sick of it. Outsourced projects also have very low quality, which explains all the bad apps and low quality browsers and games.
Neko Tengu You attract that type of customer because you market on price and/or work in a highly competitive market. What's your USP and why is hiring you a better choice? If you market on things like customer service, high grade of specialization and/or experience, you might attract a different type of customer. Also, ring up some of your old customers who went to India and ask how things are going. Not only will they appreciate your care but also might re-hire you if they're not satisfied with their experience. I had a few clients who had outsourced to India and returned, usually they cited cultural differences and language barriers as problematic. Now, to be clear, I don't have a problem with Indian programmers or Indians in general. There is a place for everybody and we all have bills to pay. Nobody wants to pay more than they need to but people are willing to pay for something they cannot get everywhere and that is important to them. Hope this helps.
Hey Gillian, I am looking towards a medical career, and am going to med school next year. Is doing youtube alongside that feasible? Thank you so much for all your videos, they really help with my channel!!
If you're looking for a work-from-home job, have you considered medical billing and coding? It's complimentary to your career path and pays about 50K per year. Just a thought.
Sure, there are numerous doctors here on RUclips and especially with this pandemic, they are highly in demand. There is also a channel I know of about life in medical school, I think the name is medlifecrises or something.
Amber Kristine I also follow Ali! He is great! He works for NHS, that is less paid but with a bit more time. Doctors from other countries might be paid a LOT more for working 12 hours a day 6 days a week, and may be too busy to record.
I was waiting for you video! ❤️ Because I know it will be helpful! I’m working hard on my channel and I almost have 1k! But I have problems with watching hours. It’ll be very helpful if you share tips how to increase it 😊
Nice work growing your subscribers!! I took a quick peek at your channel, and my first tip would just be to make your videos a bit longer. 12 minutes is the ideal length for RUclips videos. :)
I agree that specializing in a field makes a big difference in pay and getting clients. I have worked as a freelance developer specializing in algorithmic trading. My question is how can I get clients besides using Upwork?
Hi Gillian, I love your channel and appreciate your sound axvice. I took a 6 month certifed course in Digital marketing recently. After having been let go from my long term management job in the food industry, I decided it would help round out my marketing career. My question is, how do I get work as a content creator for food or is there such a thing? I live in Toronto, Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
You probably have to small, companies want to see remote experience. Small as in take a job that doesn’t earn well or maybe out of the food industry. Good luck!
It's always good to get notifications on your new videos. I'm working on my first video and hope to upload it soon. I'm introducing artwork that I do either traditional or digital.
Awesome video! Please share courses/videos to look into to enhance digital marketing skills and consulting expertise before you can become a consultant🙏
Hello Gillian, how are you ? Im living in a third world country ( Turkey) I have a university degree and many certificates. I already know 4 languages very well but however im still unemployed because of the country that i live in. What should i do ?
Lovely video! I’m just figuring out what I can do to make some extra money in lockdown so videos like this are really helpful. I’ve also just started my own channel to track my journey!
SUCH A GREAT VIDEO, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING! I recently started up my channel to help small RUclipsrs grow their channel! I would love if you followed my journey!
Hi Gillian, I've been following you for a while, I'm just starting on youtube with music covers. Do you think that if I upload short videos of 1 minute as trailer of the next video can hurt my channel if they have few views?
It depends on so many things! Your skill, the competition, the specific service you provide, how you position the service, and how effectively you market. I'd recommend you start by researching your competition -- businesses that sell similar products -- to get a ballpark idea.
Waaaoo you look really beautiful ... I know you´re a mom of 5 but still very good looking!!! I love this video because it gave a lot of advice about which someone can get into for getting her or his job from home!!! Regretfully I don´t fit for the jobs so I will try to be a RUclipsr, taking your tips always... Send you a big hug from Costa Rica

Gillian Perkins Thank you dear so much! Yes, you are right. I should make longer videos ❤️
You will get there. I am actually creating a RUclips script layout for small youtubers. I would love if you followed my journey!
Hi Gillian

Where can we learn the video editing skills?
I agree that specializing in a field makes a big difference in pay and getting clients. I have worked as a freelance developer specializing in algorithmic trading. My question is how can I get clients besides using Upwork?
Algorithmic trading, something like etorro?
Amazing content Gillian! Thank you.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for your feedback!

Good luck!
Hi Lisa! I'm curious how things have gone since getting your course completed in digital marketing.
It's always good to get notifications on your new videos. I'm working on my first video and hope to upload it soon. I'm introducing artwork that I do either traditional or digital.
Glad to hear that!!

SUCH A GREAT VIDEO, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING! I recently started up my channel to help small RUclipsrs grow their channel! I would love if you followed my journey!
Great video.
did u forget to say how to get these jobs?
Hi Gillian, I've been following you for a while, I'm just starting on youtube with music covers. Do you think that if I upload short videos of 1 minute as trailer of the next video can hurt my channel if they have few views?
Thank you for this video! Do you have a scale of how much we should we charge for each?
It depends on so many things! Your skill, the competition, the specific service you provide, how you position the service, and how effectively you market. I'd recommend you start by researching your competition -- businesses that sell similar products -- to get a ballpark idea.
Gillian Perkins okay thank you! 🙂
Shouts out to gillian stay motivated.
