I used to hate One World Trade center until i learned the design, if you look at it the shape of it is because the Architect combined both Twin Towers in one, and it ended up to look like On World Trade Center. It looks like twin towers and leaning on each other. And on the near top of building inside on the observatory deck, they made the windows alike the original WTC. Is really cool. But i wonder what families of the victims feels like if they ever go inside there.
Yup. I’ve been saying they need to do that for the longest. It would be breathtaking, being as the Memorial pool would literally be RIGHT infront of the hypothetical 2 WTC’s lobby doors. As soon as you came out the memorial would be in front of you , paying respect every time you entered and left.

The problem is, the freedom tower was EXTREMELY expensive to build, so highly unlikely they'd be willing to build another one. Nothing's impossible though... I think everyone just misses the twin tower affect. There's nothing that displays strength and prosperity more than building two identical enormous skyscrapers right next to each other. It's just so badass!

as a 90's child growing up in the early 2000's NOthing still can beat the Twin Towers of the WTC even tho i had less experience with them i always wanted to go but when we made plans it was for summer 2002. but that sadly didnt happen

You had to wait 7 months for a Saturday night reservation. I've often thought of people who had reservations for Saturday September 15, 2001 and had no restaurant to go to. This was unforgivable.

The Memorial Park layout is definitely best for if they were going to build a twin. It also allows for better visibility of both buildings at more angles. Though OWTC’s design loses its symbolism when it has a twin. The design of OWTC is supposed to be the Twins fused together in unity. Which I think is really nice and really makes me love OWTC on its own. So 2WTC would probably work best as a equally tall, but visually distinct building. Allowing for a similar twin silhouette, harkening back to the originals, but giving the new complex its own identity. All you’d need to do is slightly change the road positioning. Then you could put 6WTC (The Diamond 2WTC design perhaps?) I’d just then move the 9/11 Museum to where 3WTC used to be. Since 1,2 and 3 were the only buildings to have had fatalities.

I prefer the Foster WTC2 design, but that version with twin WTC1s right next to eachother? I wonder what the winds would be like at the base. Looks like the angled sides could create interesting wind patterns (or not!).
I like the Foster's design, but I wish they would at least build the top edge as tall as 1WTC's roof. Either way, I'd like it a lot better if it was diagonal like the originals, but I understand they have little real estate space to build on, as the current complex is all built in the same area of the original complex.

But it does take away from memorial park. The whole reason of that area is that it's the original plaza of the pre 9/11 WTC, but its empty now, cleared out and meant to be peaceful, to reflect and remember the emptiness of ground zero. filling it up with buildings again takes away from it's style and meaning

Sorry but I always thought a second tower should have been placed there. To me Growing up in the city those towered were a huge part of my childhood. I would have loved to have to old towers back but at best I would have loved them to build both towers back even if it’s two of these “freedom Towers”. And they should have built them on the original footprint. I know the memorial is there. And not trying to offend any family member who lost a love one. But at the time after this happened everyone said rebuild bigger and stronger. We wanted to show we weren’t scared and we weren’t going to lose. Yet not rebuilding what was there felt like a huge loss. Not only Did they kill thousands but they ruined the skyline they took away a symbol of Americans and we never proved we could move on and be strong by building one world trade. There should have at least be a second world trade.
I kind of wish some billionaire real estate investor would come in and propose building an identical tower on the memorial park and slap a billion dollar investment on it to get people moving. Only problem would be having to build the foundation work and deconstructing the foundation built in 2 WTC current proposed site. It would be the Twin Towers reborn. Then extend the memorial around 2 WTC to compensate for the loss of part of the memorial park. Perhaps the road get's rerouted and the 2 WTC proposed site can become part of the memorial park.
Tbh I understand the emotion and feeling in having these towers back but the truth is that we should just let those buildings rest with the people who were massacred inside, nobody wants to reminded of something where a lot of people died like that, plus the wtc 2 with the diamond design should be the final design it shows elegance, optimism and balls
On the memorial park would make it look very similar to the original. Plus it would look almost like the original twins from the viewpoint looking at it from the top of the empire state building. The answer is obvious what it should be. Why havent they done this.
Also just take a moment and think about that view… Your on the 93rd floor of this new 2 WTC and your on the west facing side looking down…literally staring straight into the pool…it would be haunting…you’d be looking at the antithesis of the memorial from the position of its purpose..those who fell before and with the towers..that’s not a easy thing to get comfortable with.
I used to be against the idea a lot when I was a kid but now I feel this would really bring back the identity of NYC that was lost in the 2000s to the attacks. This would help in us completely moving past that tragic day to construct another Twin Tower. The One WTC kinda looks generic but adding another would bring back the uniqueness behind the O.G. that the first ones had.
It's too bad that the position the new 1 & 2 are being built at doesn't allow them to be seen side by side from the east or the west like the originals.
In my opinion the best location would be where I show it being located on the memorial itself. It positions it in a way where it's staggered from the first tower very much like the original twins. But since the memorial is built there, there is no chance of that happening now. The only available land is where the future 2 world trade center is planed. It's the first example I depict in the video. In my opinion its too far from WTC 1 to mimic the original twins so it should just be an original design.
@@TheJawsRaider95 Well the current WTC was designed by David Childs of SOM. Larry Silverstine has hired Norman Foster to design the 2 WTC in a way that will attract new companies back to the workplace. So I definitely wouldn't expect a twin. I'll make a video as soon as the design is revealed.

@Hera The original Twin Towers had their design capability to be even taller than just 1368 ft. Due to their strong steel structure of a central core with columns and an outer set of columns. Creating a Bamboo kind of structure. You could make the old Twin Towers more than 2.000 ft tall as a consequence. Not forgetting you would include/incorporate all the state of the art, safety design aspects, such as a reinforced concrete core etc.

They already messed up the skyline with that 1WTC. Such a lackluster design.2 of those would only make it worse. Should have kept a more true to the original towers look

I think they should HUGELY consider this. Seen from afar, they seem pretty close to the original towers to me!!! but if they built another freedom tower, that should be very near to the first tower. And then i think that it would be kinda like returning into the past before the attacks seeing these two towers!

Tbh I understand the emotion and feeling in having these towers back but the truth is that we should just let those buildings rest with the people who were massacred inside, nobody wants to reminded of something where a lot of people died like that, plus the wtc 2 with the diamond design should be the final design it shows elegance, optimism and balls

On the memorial park would make it look very similar to the original. Plus it would look almost like the original twins from the viewpoint looking at it from the top of the empire state building.
The answer is obvious what it should be.

This would be a good homage to the original twin towers.
Also just take a moment and think about that view… Your on the 93rd floor of this new 2 WTC and your on the west facing side looking down…literally staring straight into the pool…it would be haunting…you’d be looking at the antithesis of the memorial from the position of its purpose..those who fell before and with the towers..that’s not a easy thing to get comfortable with.

The Freedom Tower nickname should be “The Only Child Tower.”
I used to be against the idea a lot when I was a kid but now I feel this would really bring back the identity of NYC that was lost in the 2000s to the attacks. This would help in us completely moving past that tragic day to construct another Twin Tower. The One WTC kinda looks generic but adding another would bring back the uniqueness behind the O.G. that the first ones had.
The shape doesn't look right. The twin block towers were iconic. Never be the same again

In my opinion the best location would be where I show it being located on the memorial itself. It positions it in a way where it's staggered from the first tower very much like the original twins. But since the memorial is built there, there is no chance of that happening now. The only available land is where the future 2 world trade center is planed. It's the first example I depict in the video. In my opinion its too far from WTC 1 to mimic the original twins so it should just be an original design.
That would be awesome if it sits where the futuristic 2 WTC is praying to god
@@TheJawsRaider95 Well the current WTC was designed by David Childs of SOM. Larry Silverstine has hired Norman Foster to design the 2 WTC in a way that will attract new companies back to the workplace. So I definitely wouldn't expect a twin. I'll make a video as soon as the design is revealed.

@Hera The original Twin Towers had their design capability to be even taller than just 1368 ft. Due to their strong steel structure of a central core with columns and an outer set of columns. Creating a Bamboo kind of structure. You could make the old Twin Towers more than 2.000 ft tall as a consequence. Not forgetting you would include/incorporate all the state of the art, safety design aspects, such as a reinforced concrete core etc.

Personally, I think they should "rebuild" the former South Tower, with the same footprint, instead of the steel facade, they can do an all glass but in an all-glass design and a more modern look. Has that idea ever been explored?

Yeah but also the fountains where the originals stood is a beautiful tribute. Property goes for insane prices in NYC, having a place in such a dense area be completely buildingless dedicated to a tragedy is even more meaningful than a building to replace them

*I remember when we came closer to the airport door my parents asked these two pilots about if they would mind take picture of us with my siblings inside the cockpit they agreed.*
*The reason why we visit America was because my uncle and his wife had a apartment not far from the twin towers.*
*My uncle wife worked there in the original towers, somehow my uncle invited my parents and me and my siblings.*

They already messed up the skyline with that 1WTC. Such a lackluster design.2 of those would only make it worse. Should have kept a more true to the original towers look

I think they should HUGELY consider this. Seen from afar, they seem pretty close to the original towers to me!!! but if they built another freedom tower, that should be very near to the first tower. And then i think that it would be kinda like returning into the past before the attacks seeing these two towers!
