The Heian Antique Market is an antique market held on the 10th each month in Okazaki Park in front of Heian-jingu Shrine. With the goal of creating a space for cultural exchange, our market bustles with antique lovers from across the globe, and is just another of Kyoto’s cultural highlights.
Each month you’ll find around 100 stalls of antique and second-hand clothing dealers from all over Japan.

平安蚤の市は、京都市左京区にある平安神宮前の岡崎公園で毎月開催される蚤の市です。１００店舗以上が出店します。
誰かにとって不用になったものを、次の誰かへつなげる場としてスタートしました。リサイクルすることでゴミを減らすことへ繋がり、少しでも環境問題に貢献できるイベントを目指します。
また、世界中の古いものを愛する人たちで賑わう文化交流の場として、京都から日本の文化を発信します。
Heian Shrine can be reached by Kyoto City bus number 5 from Kyoto Station in about half an hour (230 yen). Alternatively, take the subway via Karasuma Oike Station to Higashiyama Station (20 minutes, 260 yen), from where the shrine is a ten minute walk.

I really miss being in Japan. I love the respect everyone shares, and how happy people are sharing stories and sharing history. Thank you for another wonderful experience. Your videos are an art style I can relate to, my old photography professor would call it journalistic/historic videography/photography. Capturing something that won’t be around forever. You give me a lot of inspiration for my paintings, thank you so very much! I feel like I’m quickly becoming an otaku for the market.
The phrase “what is captured does not last forever” moved me.
Been a fan of flea markets for a long time. When I travel a lot, one of the first things I do is go to a flea market. When I'm not shooting videos, I'm talking to friends about interesting antiques and interesting people I meet at flea markets.
