BEING NATURAL: Dating (Ep. 2) ruclips.net/user/HairCrush
Im not leaving the house for 6 mons.... I can babysit.. I can cook crack.. Thats a profession right? lol *dying*
not at all but so worth it. I just put a head band on and go. Im still not 100 percent confident
+bmilprncss22 Yes, it's always worth it!:) Your confidence will come! Just keep rockin' it my friend!
+XioJade20 Lol I remember my friend didn't want to leave her dorm room (my friend Crystal) but she had to go to class so she put on a bad dress, some big hoops and strutted soooo hard across campus. She literally faked her confidence until it came hahaha
+Chime (HairCrush) I went back and forth, but I can relate to this.
It's one the best feelings to have a man tell you your natural hair is beautiful. Also when they say you have a pretty face, but you're not wearing any make-up lol
+Miillie Mesh yes girl, I had one fine brother tell me he loved my hair and that he was excited to see one of the sistas wearing their natural hair proudly. I was geeked lol.
Yass girll
+Miillie Mesh I've only received negative comments on my natural hair. I think girls with looser textures get more praise.
+Des My hair is pretty kinky & it be hella dry at work. But that's where I get the most compliments on it, even from white guys lol so idk maybe my face makes up for my nappy hair
+Des I love when black ppl in general compliment each other's hair. I have very kinky hair, and a black man was the first male to compliment it. I was sorta surprised, since i feel like they would be the last to compliment our hair because of how screwed up our history is. The only men to negatively talk about my hair were family members. Don't get to upset about their ignorance, they'll learn one day, because natural hair is growing now more than ever in the black community
The makeup and big hoop earrings are the most crucial and accurate part of the acceptance stage of the big chop journey 😂😂😂 it really got me thru my big chop now that I think about it
+A Swaby Girl yes! I always tell people that. You can feel less feminine when you have a TWA sometimes especially when you're not used to it so the best way to add femininity is to put on some big earrings and make up.
"Bye, bye, bye to my social life" 😂 help! I've fallen, and I can't get up! 😩😂
+samuraiboy22 lmfao she dead did make the big chop seems as if you needed that life alert in the beginning...lmfaooooooooooooo
+samuraiboy22 "I look like 98 Justin Timberlake"
i transitioned for 7 months( i kept my hair in braids or kinky twist) and finally got tired of the two textures(relaxed ends and natural hair) and decided it was time. my hubby saw my hair during transition but once i was completely natural... he smiled and said you are still beautiful but your natural hair is much better☺... now my mom and some other ladies that i associated with( who still use relaxers) had very negative words to say. i def dont regret going natural my last relaxer was almost 8 yrs ago and im loving my hair
That's amazing!
Great video...i love seeing sisters going natural...I always let my natural queens know they are beautiful...and seeing the smile give when you know they not feeling it...gotta keep em encouraged.
Yes shout out to the people who encourage natural hair especially the big chop!!!
I hated my hair after my big chop! OMG I left the salon in tears..... but after getting home and sitting down and staring at myself in the mirror for hours, I realized I loved it 😘
+4evahazeleyez Yup sometimes all it takes is a new set of eyes and a little time
Bruhhhh!!!! She said I can cook crack! Lmao 😂😂
I LOLed so hard
+MsFlamingFlamer i died lol
😂😂😂
I scrolled down the moment she said it and I died
My BC was in June and it was cathartic. I was known for my long, thick relaxed hair and I was afraid of being judged negatively for having natural hair. However, I had just had enough of relaxing my hair and I wanted to see what my natural hair was like. When I finally did it, I felt like this was the second time in my life that I had made a decision purely for me. Without being constrained by the opinions of others.
LMFAOOOOO "Who gon love me" THAT WAS SO ME
"Who gonna love me!?" Lmfaooooooooo omg
crying while taking pictures lol
Soo funny! When I cut off my long relaxed hair to go natural my sister was soooooo angry with me! She didn't even want to acknowledge my hair. As my hair grew she saw that I stopped spending money at the hair dressers and that my hair was versatile. Now she is natural and my niece . SMH. LOL
"I look like 90's Justin Timberlake, bye bye bye! " LOL too funny... PS- Went through the same experience, I thought that I was unattractive but I brought out my own confidence :)
+Amber Williams So awesome!!
omg..i love this!! I big chopped in august and my hair now is this exact length. Looks amazing on you! :)
+EvolvingBeauty xoxo Girl that's great!
" I look like '98 Justin Timberlake!"
::dead::
That was hilarious. I love the natural hair movement , it feels like we are at the start of something big. Black beauties coming together, love it
You cracked me up!!! You hit all my feelings! And you're right...my barber boosted me up and I was walking with confidence.
+Monica Mclendon lol Sometimes all it takes is one co-sign to start feeling better about your BC
Chime! LMBO! 😂😂😂 This was so awesome to see first thing in the morning. My day something else positive and funny to start the day right. I got to watch the rest. Thank you! 😀
+Chala Brooks That's so awesome!! Thank yooouuu!!
+Chime (HairCrush) Your welcome!
Saw the thumbnail and immediately thought "bish that better be a wig!"
OK me as well!
+Maya Victoria LOL! I'm not going to big chop until next year this time. I've been transitioning for about 11 months now trying to grow out this heat damage and TMS. My hair should be almost the length it is now if I take care of it so it won't be this traumatic lol
Lmfaooooooo I died when you were taking photos!!! This was hilarious
😂😂😂😂 you're not my best friend you're not my best friend. Mannnn this has me crying. This was me
i swear i did this when i big chopped three years ago!!! "i wasnt ready"
Lionel Richie, Lenny Kravitz, 90's Timberlake, then Ronald McDonald!!!! This is the funniest!!!
I was like "girlll I know you didn't cut that beautiful hair!" ..feeling relieved
i am 5 years natural and i actually felt cute during my whole process lol but great video and great inspiration to the newbies. I'm sure people really do feel like this. gotta make it work! that's right!
"You're not my best friend. Not my best friend" lol
I haven't done a big chop because I'm scared. You are really encouraging to my baby steps toward being ready! Thank you and nice video.
Girl, I CAN'T with you!!
"Who.......who..gone love me?"
"You not my best friend, not my best friend"
Lol too funny
It shouldn't have to take a man to tell you your beautiful for you to see that you are.
LMAO @ Bye Bye Bye to my social life. Girl you are crazy! Great video.
98 Justin Timberlake bye bye bye to my social life hahaha
I was on the verge of having a mental breakdown but i had an amazing support team and now I am 2 yrs natural and I wear my curls 11 months out the year and wear it straightened for a month to trim and length check.
Funny but true!!! Thanks for the humor. We have to laugh sometimes.
+dee doc We really do!!
LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even leave my usual commentary Chime.....
+kerducky Lol!
+kerducky LMBO!!! No kerducky commentary, you can't do that, lol!! :-)
Rene Cox LOL!! I got a mini one up now! It took me a day to collect myself, lol!!!
+kerducky LMBO!!!!!! I love your usual commentary
LOL @ "I can cook crack". This was a cute story; Good video!
+ThatChickKim Thanks firefly!
"I look like 1980 Justin timberlands " I'm deadddd!
This is right on time! My cousin was complaining about her big chop this morning. I will send this video to her. Thanks!
This was hilarious and so accurate! Brings back memories to almost a year and a half ago when I big chopped! Lol, time fliesss. 💙
This has me rolling -- this is totally me! Even though I have been natural most of my life (at 12 I was relaxed and at 15 I transitioned) At 34 I did some dumb sh- and put a texturizer in my natural thick BSL hair. A year later it broke off and I decided to start over 3 months ago. I'm still buggin' thinking my fiance gonna dump me. LOL This just put it in perspective! LUV U!
Yesss! Shout to the men who love women with natural hair. Awesome video Chime. Tfs :)
"Who gon' love me??!!" This was funny - a job well done.
...and that's how it be!!!😆😆. The hats though😂😂😂
my big chop was hard, but 5 months later, I'm loving it. I also really like being call beautiful black sista, shoooooo thank you.
LOL great video, so glad I am not the only one who still think about J.T. 3c curls.
+nolakiss Lol at 3c curls haaaa His curls used to be poppin lol
OMG, Chime this was super funny! Loved it and shared it. Thumbs up!!!!! I want another episode on dating.
I wore a wig for six months after I big chopped. I mean I wore it out for a couple weeks but short hair is high maintenence even for naturals. I was not about getting up and wetting my hair everyday.Longer hair doea not get as frizzy when I go to sleep. Luckily it grew back fast like within a year because I can just throw it in a ponytail or a bun now! The struggle of a lazy natural
+Mariah Beautiful I wore a headscarf for six months after I big chopped lol. I was the queen of erykah badu wraps
Sensei Aishitemasu Yes! and those six months went by fast didn't they
Mariah Beautiful They did
The first thing my brother told me was "you look like Bruno Mars"😂😂😂
+cutepuppyificatiable Noooo lol
My husband was my biggest fan an encouraged me to do the big chop, everybody else friends and family was looking at me like I was an alien an wondered what was wrong with me. At the time their was literally 1 person in my town that was natural, and now I can't go anywhere without seeing a natural woman, it's great!!
LOL...That was too funny 😂
LMFAO!!! That was PERFECT!!! So many laughs and truths! xx
I'm dying this was me 2 years ago 😭😭😭😭 I'm crying real tears 😂😩
+HairByPierre Lol!
I did my big chop in August right after I turned 14 and halfway through I was bawling cause I looked like a boy! Now some dats I feel ugly with my hair and other days I slayyyy but that's the best part I think, having so much versatility! And everyone liked it friends and family so don't be worried about that it's just hair anyway
Days*
gurl me too! at first I was like nooooo but then it kinda grew on me!
I had a great big chop experience. I got nothing but compliments on my hair. it made it easier to accept that I only had 2 inches of hair because so many kept telling me how great it looked.
This is so cute 😊!!! Thanks I love it. My hair is growing rapidly now. Im still in Twa motion though...but inspiration like this is very encouraging!😄
"I look like Lionel Richie!" I DIED!!!
This video is awesome! When I big chopped in 2001, I felt JUST LIKE THIS!!! My second big chop in 2012 wasn't as big a deal, but that first time....
Girl, this was hilarious! I'm glad my big chop experience was a positive one.
Lmaoooo!😂💀 girl I was completely dead the whole time. !! I love you. For second I thought you actually cut it. I was like 😱
Cracked up at when you were doing selfies crying. I'm not sure if anyone is ever ready.
So funny. But true. No one could have to told me six months ago that I will love my afro so much. So much that I will give up any relationship that doesn't accept my afro. I got mixed responses when I went from 18 years of constant 22inches straight weave to short afro hair. Even the ones that said they didn't like my afro initially now say it looks nice. I have inspired some ladies going natural and they big chopped and this happened without me having to say anything.
My attitude was if God gives me lemon, I will make lemonade, lemon cake, lemon cheese cake, lemon oil, lemon everything. I will personalise it and have fun with it.
I never had the courage to big chop. I transitioned while still wearing weaves....BUT BABAAAY! When I first decided to wear my natural hair out after all those years of weaving....I hated it! My hair was past shoulder length but I felt like I had a TWA when the shrinkage kicked in. My twist outs and braid outs sucked! However I did try different things. Once I got my undercut back, I was like yaaaaas! One day a random guy told me he was "loving all that natural hair" and I must admit, it made me feel good. So this video was definitely on point. (Hugs)
+SuckaFree Nellz Love that!:)
This was hilarious, especially the parts with the hats lmao
I almost died! I love you girl 😂😂
hilarious video 😂😂😂 " bye bye bye to my social life "
Your hair and bone structure actually give me life!😍🙈😜👍🏾💟
Your sense of humor is aligned with my own! I instantly subscribed to your channel! beautiful!
I loved this video, it was hilarious. It literally reminded me of my best friend. I transitioned for a year and half and I was so happy to cut off my ends. I felt so free!
I felt like a pre-pubescent BOY! I so disliked myself for months, UNTIL...I realized that I was beautiful NO MATTER WHAT LENGTH MY HAIR IS OR TEXTURE IS! After that realization, I was free to learn about my hair, and style options I had available to me. Cutting my hair was probably one of the most freeing/liberating things I've ever done.
+whatamelons Yass! I love that!!
+Chime (HairCrush) :))
You are the funniest! I love it!
This was spot on ..I just did a buzz cut and I feel the same way but I know I'm going to grow to love it ..💚
I was screaming laughing, I woke my husband up! That is exactly how I felt! I love this video!
I actually loved my big chop, I was just so sick of transitioning that the big chop made me happy :D
Hilarious! Thank goodness I had a good big chop experience 😂
Chime this is hilarious! I needed that laugh.
I've big chopped four times in my life and every time was like this! So funny
Yep u got it. I went through all these emotions, said the same things. Lol now u can't tell me nothing bout my hair I'm in love!!
my big chop was a great one because I prepared myself for it. On that day, went to the salon and told my stylist to chop it off at 8 months post. Although for the first year, I hid it in braids/weaves
Yass girl! I just big chopped again after 16 years of being natural and just was bored. I got a cute tapered cut and a week later hated it! Thanks for this video. It's been 2 months and it has grown out about 1 inch all over, maybe a little more in certain spots. I just have to do my hair WAYYY more often now and it get super dry from having to wet and do it constantly to look fresh. But I'm starting to embrace and love it
+MzKinkyCurl How cool! I love it when women are bold enough to just chop it off just because!
I covered my hair a lot until felt ready for the world to see my big chop.
I was excited when I big chopped. I actually just realized how short my hair was compared to now.
Haha this was so me! I was so dramatic and the mental breakdowns are so real in the beginning! But it gets better and is so worth it! It's an awesome journey of accepting yourself...and black men who encourage and uplift sisters with natural hair are awesome!! Encourage each other!!
Ronald McDonalish 😭💀💀💀 I'm weak
I love this so much. You should keep making videos like this. It makes me feel better about my hair
+Royal_Shai Yay!! Thanks! I am! The next episode will be on dating.
Super super funny!!! Also, some very real emotions that we go threw when going natural! Blessings
+. (SpeakLove) Right! I wanted to keep it relatable. Most of naturals experience some type of reservations when we big chop and even feel ugly. I wanted women to know whose going through it that it will get better and so many women have been there before.
The face you made when the man compliment you omg that was so funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂
+Jasmine Iman Lol
She said "Bye bye bye to my social life" 💀💀💀😂😂😂😂😂
Hilarious!!!! lol! My experience was mostly positive, I had my days but I have loved every minute of learning to care for and style my natural hair, and being inspiration to others to big chop and embrace their natural hair.
OMG Chime I've been watching your videos for a while and this has to got to be one of my faves!!! Great laugh!!! For the most part my BC was great, but there were some trying times trying to get used to it and finding styles that went with face. Thanks for sharing, I'd love to see more soon.
+Symone Hawkins So glad you liked it! Yea it is definitely an adjustment period for most people but when you start loving it it's a love affair like no otha. Episode 2 will be up next week! Thanks for supporting firefly:)
The thumbnail tho! I was like, I hope she didn't cut her hair, LOL
+aquariouschic Sorry didn't meant to scare y'all Lol
I did my BC at age 17 and I started crying. I always got mistaken for a boy when I was younger so it brought back so many bad memories.
Laughing the entire time!!! "I can cook crack" That took it to whole new level. I didn't do the BC but I definitely had those same feelings while transitioning!!! Great Video!!! Keep them coming.
When she said "bye bye bye to my social life" I screamed. LMBO. Too funny.
Okay first you are hilarious! I luv this video! I big chopped two times before and I luved it each time. It was just such low maintenance quick and easy! Thanks for sharing and the laughs
I loved my big chopped. It allowed me to be more confident within myself b
Lmbo! I had a positive big chop, but you hit on all the things I hear others say. I enjoyed the entire video, too funny. Also encouraging!
Omg that was so funny. My friend is going natural, but she doesn't want to cut the perm off. Smh I remember my big chop. I freakin rocked it, and 3yrs later it's passed my armpit. whoop whoop.
damn felt hit when she said Krystal.... that's my name
+krystal young lol
Bahahaha "I look like 98' Justin timberlake", lol loved the video!
You're so funny!! Enjoyed myself immensely!
+Naturalicity Yay! I'm really glad y'all are liking it:)
+Chime (HairCrush) of course we did
