      I was too young to watch when it first came out but I started watching it with my dad around 92. A lot of the jokes still flew over my head as a 11-15 year old but it was still funny to me as a kid and it was cool to watch something with my pops.

    Peggy enters and sits next to Al. No dialogue for 25 seconds, and yet the audience is laughing their asses off the whole time. That's a sign of superbly developed characters and great chemistry. We all know exactly what's going on in Al's and Peggy's brains, long before Al finally caves in with his cry of frustration, "WHAT???" Peggy wins the battle with her sheer sassiness.

    Ed O'Neill has had the talent ... and the good fortune ... of playing not one, but TWO iconic sitcom characters. First he played Al on "Married with Children," and then he played Jay on "Modern Family." That's something to be proud of!

    I loved this show so much when I was 20. My best friend and I had just moved into a 2 bdrm apartment, and we couldn't afford cable, but one of the stations we got with rabbit ears antenna was Fox. I also remember watching the first episode of The Simpsons around that time.

    This was the best episode ever. Al actually starts to show initiative and betters himself winning the love of countless women (even Marcy Darcy) and becomes this suave successful man with women lining up to buy shoes from him.
    Then he realizes it’s all meaningless since he’s already married with children so it doesn’t matter if countless women want him. Then he quickly transforms to the slovenly Al we all know and love in a matter of seconds.

    For the young ones in the audience, you can NOT appreciate the mind-blowing hilarity that was Married with Children. Outrageous for the time, irreverent, pee your pants funny...maybe people don't think so nowadays but omg the first few years of this show is some of the funniest tv ever made. I'm old!
