Shalom 2 Peter 3:10-11 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,/Inspiration+ This passage in Peter shows up nicely an idea that has been raised many times by Christ before, that the true value of a man is measured not by what he has, but by what he may do without. When all is burned up, when all possessions and vainglories are dissolved, when all but our body remains, who amongst us can truly claim to be able find comfort only in God? Who amongst us, could claim still, to be able to stand before the Lord, thankful and glad? The question thrown up by Peter is not a command to cast off our worldly goods and comfort, but rather it is a challenge to Christians, to challenge us to look within ourselves and ask who we truly are, and what is truly necessary in front of our Lord./Prayer+ Lord I stand before you, cleansed of all possessions. Naked I pray Lord, that my soul still remains pure and worthy of your paradise. Show me strength in your mercy, and trust in your word as the only everlasting truth into the beyond. Have faith in me, as I continue to long for thee beyond all earthly effects, riches and property. I ask this in the name of our Lord who art in Heaven, Amen.

@@briansmith2739 . In fact I probably enjoyed the original Quake the most. It was awesome. I remember buying the huge box PC version of it with all the extras. Lol, the box was huge.
I swear, this had to have been an inspiration for future TimeSplitters games, especially Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect. Feels just like those games for sure, even down to the humor and gameplay. This game was ahead of its time in that perspective.
@@marcmichel9394 I remember getting the demo about 6 months or so before the game released. Played it non stop just destroying columns with assault rifle. Terrain deformation and destructible objects were revolutionary at the time. Spent hours just digging tunnels with the noob tube, nades and c4. Good shit. Awesome memories...
This game really was all about the destructible environment, It was absolutely groundbreaking at the time, the rest is just like any other game, but this is what gave this game the edge and why it is remembered
First time I played this, I was a kid. So many years later, after war and more than a decade of service... Shits crazy to think. Still one of my favorite games. May go back and play it, if I can.
Yeah. Each of them use to have that one element that makes it stand out and beloved. Half life’s immersive story telling that doesn’t require the game to pause or use cutscenes. Red faction’s destruction which was mind blowing at the time And of course Deus ex’s…well deus ex gives you freedom to decide how you want the story to play, there just to much to list of why that game itself was awesome. This was back before lots of fps tried to like call of duty nowadays. But there still some fps of modern times that have a unique charm
The escape pods from 3:14:00 was so sneaky, without RUclips back then I imagine so many controllers were either smashed or the game remained unfinished......
This game is from an time when horrible CoD didn't exist yet and games still because of this reason, actually were unique and not some shitty generic CoD clones.
mrhappyhead mrhappyhead me too I've completed this game so many times doing a playthrough on my channel at the moment this is my favourite PS2 game of all time playing it on the PS4 for my playthrough

that was an awesome game, destructible environment, steal mechanics, drivable vehicles, no auto regen. I remember playing this game as everyone else was excited about Halo, and I was not impressed by Halo at all.
I remember playing this game,is alot longer than Red Faction II,it totally rocks,I love both games. They should have kept the first person shooter perspective in the series!
RF:Guarillaz still a damn good edition to the series though, and tbf on this immersion thing ppl keep mentioning, you follow protagonists with Alias and Parker through first and second one too. Especially difficult to be immersive in second one.
This game deserves a whole remake. And in that remake, I'd want the story to alter a bit. If not a remake, then a proper sequel to Parker's story (not that garbage that was called Red Faction 2)
Honestly, this game feels like a mod to Half-Life and I don't mean that to make fun of the game, but just the simularities in many things including some map design, weapons and npcs, and even the loading screen
Thank you for making this video, so I won't need to do it. I don't understand why I liked this game in 2000's. Maybe it was because of "making holes by explosives in walls so you can walk through it" in this game. That was revolutionary.

A little over 20 years ago my cousin let me borrow his PS2 with all of his current games at the time with this and its sequel being some of them. This and number 2 as well as Max Payne were like 3 of the only games I could really beat or get very far into and despite it being over 20 years it still very fresh in my mind which is why I've decided to watch this long play of it all these years later. I remember dicking around in the very 1st level just blowing holes in things and eventually digging my way to this random spot with like water and fish in like the back of the level and being very perplexed yet fascinated by it. Maybe an Easter egg or something? A few things you could've shot out the bridge with the vehicle driving over it in the beginning taking it out before it attacked you but then again you ran away so quick it really wasn't an issue lol. Also the one shot railgun had a secondary where you could see through walls and shoot through them too, I remember just decimating those mercenaries through the doorway at the beginning of the subway station, I'm 90% sure that's what you're supposed to do lol
You look at the terrain and landscape of Red Faction, I can see a lot of similarity to the terrain and landscape of recent Fallout games. I wonder if Red Faction inspired the creators of Fallout a little bit?

I used to love this game ages ago, especially multiplayer. The destructible environments were the coolest thing ever back then.
Shooting eachother with rockets across the map
Shame the game is no fun at all to play outside of that. It has worse AI than the original Doom.
1v1 baby
@@andrewdevine3920 Actually, the AI gets gradually better and better as the game progresses. The evil mercenaries can even shoot you thru the walls.

Damn right. Ps2 game from 2001 on top of that which is insane to me!
