- On the morning of 25 September 2015, a Cessna 550 Citation Bravo aircraft registered VH-FGK, destination Baryulgil airstrip, failed to become airborne after an inusual and unexpected mistake by the pilots. Don't forget to subscribe for more videos!

they also found that the pilots brain was not engaged
Maybe - but who wrote the bloody checklist? There's not even any Swiss cheese holes to line up.
Except perhaps the pilots should have agreed on a "this speed at this point down the runway".
The Captain claimed he engaged the parking brake after the crash before he evacuated the flight deck? Yeah...right!
I've done that on my car a few times. It didn't rotate either.
😂😂😂😂😂
Car and Plane two very different vehicles
When I engaged the parking brake on my car, it started to rotate uncommanded. Around the Y axis. Is that a dutch roll then?
Yes, but did you reach V1?😂
@@JosephWeiss-dv4ts they both fly though don’t they?
The work you put into these videos is unreal ..The graphics and animation are amazing ..Thank you Thank you Thank you !!!!
Much appreciated!
The scary part is that they said they didn't notice the longer takeoff roll, double that of normal, very lucky that thing thing didn't break up and become a torch.
my 26 yo GM car has a hand brake alert it goes off if i start without releasing the brake..both audible and a flashing light on the panel..
Bro, even my old car from 1988 has a park brake light on the dash - but none on a jet aircraft? WTF ?!?!
Perhaps they should have used the ‘Parking Brake On’ performance chart. Always fully engage the parking brake whenever you set it on any aircraft.
@@jerrypolverino6025 ……there’s probably a check list for that as well.
if they were still able to achieve the take off speed, why didn't the plane lifted off accordingly ?, I mean, even if the runaway expected length they took was longer...
the rear wheels were braking so it could not start rotating.
@@Lappillainen still not making sense, sorry. Once you are airborne wheels do not affect airworthiness anymore (parking brakes do not apply). "AFAIK"...
Excellent video !
Enjoy these videos and appreciate the time MPC Flights put in to producing them
Rather than engage in the "holier than thou" type of comment, I would just like to know why, even with this parking brake on, that the aircraft would not rotate when they passed V1 and achieved rotate speed that the aircraft would not lift off? Seems to me it should have, and then it would have accelerated once the wheels were free of the runway.
With the brakes applying a force opposite the force required for rotation, the plane cannot rotate.
Love this channel! Binged watched all your videos
I need a brake, after watching this
....my car has a parking brake engaged alarm. you'd think an airplane would have something similar.
Why isn't there a warning system for this?
Fantastic reconstruction! How can you get it so realistic?
The aircraft in the picture is a 550, the one in the video is not. 550's didn't/don't have t-tails. I worked on them for 40 years! 😂
Probably because there's no such variant in the Sim
@@Randomly_Browsing i was thinking that. A good meck would be able to tell you what type that is.
The pilot most likely applied at Bunning’s the following day.
Really! oh ... Sorry. I forgot about the parking brake ... DUH!
It is lucky he did not rotate it would have resulted in the catastrophic pitch-up, the typical outcome for taking off with ones brakes still on.
Is it a mechanical parking brake, like on a car?
The Cessna designer now works for Boeing.
excellent animation!!!
How did they not notice?!

Important counterpoint to the stereotype of pilots in developing countries being poorly trained. These guys did a great job of remaining cool under what must've been a terrible shock. Same goes for the
Australia is not a developing country 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 developing country WTF. Australia invented the black box flight recorder and has the oldest airline in the world.
