Great grab bag, crazy wild weather all over it seems. For clarity only, the clip from Strasburg (22:50) is the normal agricultural land application of animal manure in liquid form by the tractor and tank and is perfectly safe and has been done for many years. It saves on the use of manufactured fertilizers and is a soil conditioner as well. Mother Nature magic at work!!
Environmentally OK if the slurry is spread in a way that it won't run off into a watercourse, such as by putting uncultivated buffer strips between fields and streams. Nonpoint-source pollution by natural and synthetic fertilizers from farms -- and residential lawns -- is a major cause of the declining quality of water in the lower Susquehanna River and on down through the Chesapeake Bay.
Can everyone please say prayers for everyone in East Palestine because the train derailment just seems to be game more bad in detail every time it's on the news
I am calling it the storm of 2023 as snow is coming down all over So. Ca. as well as in the Cajon Pass and deserts. The trains still have to keep rolling but it does make for great scenery.
It seems that Flagstaff is trying to outdo Mt. Revelstoke for snow accumulations this season. Great Grab Bag. Ah, Spring is in the air with the manuring of the fields around Strasburg, as has been done for many generations.
17:07 - There's that red-n-blue flasher, this time in the daylight. Appears to be on the near bank of the river, not across the river as I'd thought. Satellite view shows something sticking out into the river from the bank, can't make out what. Maybe the flasher is a warning beacon for boats/barges?
Train #4 picked up train #3 in Albuquerque (to haul it back to Chicago) where #3 had terminated the previous night on account of weather. Not sure what they did with the passengers, as I-40 was closed in Arizona and maybe parts of New Mexico as well. Can't imagine busses getting through.
That freight train was Providence & Worcester CHFP runs every Sunday’s, Tuesday’s & Thursday’s from Cedar Hill Yard in New Haven to Fresh Pond Yard in Glendale Queens NY to interchange with the New York & Atlantic Railway brining loaded stone/sand cars. Then on Monday’s, Wednesday’s & Friday’s they return as FPCH back to Cedar Hill with empty stone cars
@@ajsrailfanning Nice to see P&W continues to grow their service. Most people don't know about the amt of traffic that they get from Car Carrier ships offloading at Davisville.
I think you are correct. When one of these trains went by me years ago, the train crew said they were "crop dusting" since the lime was blowing everywhere
ChainsawN&W1218, freight trains of America 🇺🇸 keeping the rails shined to a mirror polish, saw an Eastbound manifest in Jonesboro TN earlier tonight were the air hoses separated and the train went into emergency!🛤🚂
They've been in storage for over 2 years since the covid traffic downturn CP gradually sent then to storage. Only the ones on Lake Superior & Ishpeming stayed in service. Nice to see them back looking all spiffy

Yes, and the "Tank" is commonly called a "Slurry Wagon". 👍

You could simply not pray if you choose or simply not reply, but there is no purpose other than to be mean with your comment.

You're welcome and God bless.
Living on the end of the line, my who life,, what an Amazing system. and great finds of some classics.
Always interesting, always fun, and dang those Metrolinks did get around.
I get to wait for them in Milwaukee where they are going for their midlife rebuild at Talgo Manufacturing
@@paulbergen9114 They are here at the Amtrak station.

re strasburg : AAHH! that farm fresh air! Fresh from the barn! LOL
22:35 Looks (and maybe smells!) like there will be at least one VERY FERTILE field in Strasburg this summer if I am correct in what is being spread.
Yes, definitely manure
There's a reason that mist is brown!
The count would've counted the Metrolink cars "1 Metrolink car 2 Metrolink cars 3 Metrolink cars Ah AH Ah "
0:40 great idea using a leaf blower, genius!!!
Of course, the snow experts of Waupaca know their way around some snow removal. Forward!!
Awesome! The audio for the Cajon Pass camera is back!
Currently in Hesperia, CA it's mostly cloudy and 32 degrees with heavy snow expected around 10 pm.
Really guys? Not a stuck horn, just a loud turbo...
Cool NS slugs with dynamic brakes. Only ever have seen the ones without..
great grab bag especially that csx engine you caught...sweet catch
3:45 Pretty sure that's a turbocharger going bad, not a horn. (Especially since it's on the trailing unit.)
Another great GRAB BAG. Love your channel very much. Thank you for uploading and sharing!! 🚅😊❤

Construction Zone police detail
16:08 little switcher got a big horn!
10:48 That is the longest Southwest Chief I've seen on Virtual Railfan. I assume some of the equipment is heading towards the shop at Chicago.

At 3:43 that is not a stuck horn, that’s the motor you here
Nope one of the bells on the horn was stuck open. Turbocharger is way higher in pitch
That's 100% loud turbocharger
hear...
Never in my life did I think a manure spreader would make it into a grab bag. 22:45
A southbound freight on the NEC at 9:25 as a northbound passenger train passing it at 10:09. Very rare to see at South Norwalk.

The smell of money in Strasburg!
27:52 snow-tee!
Are we sure that was a stuck horn in Wichita? Sounded like a bad turbo to me.
Were those slugs or snails on those Norfork Southern trains?
10:50 5 loco Amtrak is #3 & #4 combined
hello virtual ralifan its is randy and i like your video is cool and super cool virtual railfan thanks friends randy
I'll bet that railroad employees wish they could switch at 4X.
0:30 you can only clear snow with air like this if it is dry snow. If it becomes wet, there's no hope.
So true!! NOT snowman stuff... ☃️❄️⛄🌨️
they are stinking up the fields in Strasburg, that stuff will peel the paint off your cars. it is really stinky.
I am not sure what the cargo in the gondolas was but reminded me of bulk lime loads. wild weather.

3194 is a great unit, It has that awesome RS5T
This GB will be the proof when someone says it never snowed on the Cajon Pass cam.
29:30 - Pardon me boy, is that a Chattanooga Choo-Choo?
"....is that THE Chattanooga...." 😊
The only thing more expensive to own and operate than a combine.
What is it with those see thru wheels in front of the fuselage?

Coil cars at Flagstaff. Wow, that's has to be the longest load of steel coils, that I've seen on this channel. Probably off loaded at the port of LA?
most of the coils go west on GALBAR, but we once a month get a full train of nothing but coils

A lotta eastbound Metrolinks.
